My "ancient" 2011 iMac internal hard drive was showing signs of failing with extremely slow boot time, lagging mouse and the dreaded "chugging" sound, I decided to look into the SSD's. I was able to format the Samsung EVO into a Mac (easily down in Disk Utility), and swap out the old drive with the new one. The difference is incredible! My Mac used to take around 3 minutes to boot, another 90 seconds to 2 min to load up the desktop - utterly painful. Now with the SSD, I clocked the boot time at 25-28 seconds, the desktop, applications appear immediately. As for opening application like Photoshop or Final Cut Pro, these literally take 5-8 seconds to launch. *Use caution and have patience if you do this yourself. Back up your HD before you remove it, Time Capsule is a great option. I did look at multiple DIY YouTube videos before tacking the iMac hard drive swap since this was the first time I attempted this. A 3.5" HDD to 2.5" SDD bracket helped immensely and make this extremely easy. As long as you have the right tools, it is pretty simple. I do think the hardest part personally was removing the iMac display, disconnecting the delicate cable / ribbon connections.

Drive was easy to install, configured without any problems, and is much faster than I expected.

PS4 upgrade game load times did improve would purchase again easy to install

Does the trick. Fast, reliable so far. Excellent hard drive at a good price.

Great value for the upgraded speed and storage on a laptop without wn SSD

Whether you get the 860 or 870, you can't go wrong if you're upgrading your old spin type HD. I replaced the old 5200 rpm HD in my 2012-2013 iMac, and it now works like a new computer, and it's incredibly fast! You can do the install yourself or bring it to a repair shop. I paid $50 to have ubreakifix do it. Best deal ever, and this thing really flies!

Bought this for my PS4. Now it has a ton of free storage and runs so much better !

I only purchase this particular brand of ssd because they are reliable and very easy to install.

Wish I would have replaced my old drive two years ago! My old computer hard drive crashed, so I brought it to the Geek Squad. They replaced it with this 1TB internal drive, and my computer starts up right away, and the response time has been accelerated dramatically for all my apps. I recommend that everyone with an old, mechanical drive immediately replace it with a solid state drive. It's like buying a brand new computer.

I bought this SSD after having my hard drive die. setup was a breeze, extremely quick and responsive.

It was just what i needed for my imac. Installation was wasy works great

Works perfect, use it as mass storage and does the job fast and reliable

After spending the last 8 years on a standard HDD, upgrading my custom built gaming rig to this was a gift from the heavens. The prices of SSDs have gotten more and more reasonable within the last decade and when i say this on sale I could not pass this up. If your computer is running slow, do not buy a new computer, BUY AN SSD and save some money and have it running faster than new! I recommend this 10 times out of 10.

My desktop was a bit slow loading and saving documents at times, so I had Geek Squad clone its hard drive to this SSD, then replaced the hard drive with this. Much quicker! I had previously bought a lower-cost SSD, but Geek Squad advised me that my clone-and-swap strategy might not work with the other brand. I was surprised how quickly Geek Squad completed the swap.

Reasonable cost, solid state drive (SSD). Huge improvement over 7200 rpm hard disk drive

1TB SSD offers plenty of space for my steam games. It's fast. That's really all there is to it.

Works great, no issues, easy to install, time will show how long it will last

I had always been aware that SSD drives were noticeably better than analog ones, but to really appreciate them you must have them installed on your computer replacing the old analog workhorse that gave up the ghost and left you wondering what the heck happened. I decided on getting an SSD because of this and I am glad and happy about it. The speed is noticeable and it leads to a work environment that makes work a pleasure.

Good pricing, good size, good speed. A solid drive that (hopefully!) will be reliable as well.

I found the product easy to install and vastly improved the speed of my system
