Worthy Hard Drive Upgrade

Samsung gives 3 years warranty on its hard drives which is far more coverage than other manufacturers. After cloning, computer speed has improved at every aspect, particularly booting up. Price has been coming down making it more affordable. I bought this 1 TB for $109.-, $30.- less than my 500 GB that I bought 2 years ago.

It may not be the fastest thing in the world, but the computer feels like new. It was no slouch when I bought it 10 years ago, but had become quite sluggish over the last couple of years. Installing a fresh Windows 10 on this has probably given me another 3 - 5 years out of this PC. Like buying a new PC for less than $150.

Great 1TB SATA SSD

It is slower than the M.2, 500 + MB read and actually write on large data blocks. Seems pretty fast for SATA. Was quick and easy to install and format as a second drive. Samsung has great software for optimization and for imaging an existing boot drive as well (though that was not what I was doing). Overall was exactly what I was looking for.

The Magician migration software is very easy to use and works with their drives. I primarily use the drives for external storage on my MacBook for editing videos. Even when connected using a USB3/SATA adapter, its still fast. If it always is on you desk, you don't really need a case, just the adapter (make sure it has UASP - means fast read/writes).

Great SSD for the Money

After putting my first one in a Toshiba laptop that had a slow hard drive and watching it come to life with speed, I added one to my desktop as my main drive. It sped up my desktop just like the laptop. I put this one in a friends laptop that had slowed to a crawl. With a clean Windows install and this SSD, they said the computer seemed almost twice a fast as when new.
