It's a nice roomy SSD that's fast, easy to install, and does it's job. This is the 3rd Evo I have, the other two are still in use & running strong for a few years now.

I upgraded my older laptop with the Samsung 870 EVO 1TB and the difference is night and day. Boot times went from over a minute to under 15 seconds, and apps like Chrome, Photoshop, and even games load much faster now. The install was super easy—just a SATA cable and some cloning software (Samsung’s free Data Migration tool worked great). Speeds are excellent for a SATA drive—obviously not NVMe level, but still plenty fast for everyday use, gaming, and even light content creation. Reliability is a big reason I went with Samsung, and so far, it’s been rock solid with zero issues.

Upgraded to an SSD hard drive on 2 laptops and a desktop resulting in PC's that boot up in less than a minute vs the usual 3 to 4 minutes and occasionally 10 minutes previously. So rather than needing to buy 3 computers these hard drive upgrades resolved a number of issues. Additionally, all machines are now quiet.

Bought this on short notice when an SSD failed on a computer. Intallation was a breeze. Performance is better than on the older SSD so booting is somewhat quicker. It's always a joy when you need to make an unexpected purchase and it is on sale! Thanks BB!

I have used so many Samsung drives. They are the most reliable and fastest drives I have used. They also have the lowest failure rate. I have probably installed nearly a thousand of them over the years, with little to no issues at all. I have tried some other brands, but I am always disappointed with their speed and reliability. But no so with Samsung. They are without a doubt the best ones on the market.

I bought the Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD to increase the video storage capacity of my eufy HomeBase 3 security camera system. It installed and formatted easily and quickly. It's a fast drive for video recording and accessing. It's been a great SSD so far.

It was for my new Lenova Thinkpad so I didn't have such long boot times Pros the Samsung SSD was nicely packaged and came with a card that shows you how to download the Magick software if you want to see everything. The SSD came out of the box and went straight into the computer after I cloned the old HDD and it booted up extremely fast and the performance is amazing, I am very happy with the read and write times and it is 1 TB sonI will have plenty of storage. I am very happy with it after over a month of use Cons None at all this SSD is top of the line and I have no complaints

Upgraded my 5 yr old HP laptop with a 1tb sata spin drive to this ssd drive. I bought a Sabrent usb 3 to sata housing to connect the evo drive to the laptop via usb so I could clone the existing drive to the new evo. Super simple and fast using Samsung’s software. Swapped drives after cloning and it booted right up. Went from a minimum of 5 minutes to boot and open web browser to under 30 seconds. Everything runs so fast now! Highly recommend going to a ssd for old computers.

It's fast and reliable. Boot up time is very quick. The transfer process from old drive to this one was also very simple with no OS login issues. Needed the additional space so that gaming files could be kept on the main drive containing the OS. Sloppy programming on some games prohibited installing then on alternate drive locations.
