The Geek squad recommended this side state drive. The transfer of my data to the new drive and its subsequent installation by the techs was quick and my laptop now runs fast, cool and quiet.

An initial load of O/S & application software can eat up as much as half of this. Nowadays, I always start by installing a second drive, always a SSD, usually a 1.0TB size, and name it as the target for user data files. It give lots of room before having to worry about drive space, and it puts all the user-generated data in an "unusual" place where bad actors might not know to look.

Most people will want M2 drives as they are now priced very similarly, but if you don't have the slot for those, these will still be very good.
