Went 980 pro with my latest build and happy that I did. Windows 10 load time is sub 5 secs, games (Wasteland 3, Assassins Creed) load times are in the neighborhood of 15-25% faster.

I expected faster boot times with the 980 Pro but I didn't see much difference from my original 970 EVO Plus. Using Samsung Magician bench marks, the 980 Pro did 7100 MB/s in sequential reads, twice as fast as the 970. In random reads got only 3500 MB/s, about the same as the 970. I guess that is why the boot times were about the same since booting Windows 10 is mostly random reads.

Benchmark test results may differ depending upon the system environment, host software and hardware configuration. I encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support to better diagnose and assist you with your speed issue.

Perhaps 11th gen Intel. Don't buy unless that is your target, else you are paying 2x for something you will not need.

Could be a BIOS bug (PCIe 3.0 laptop, not 4.0), or a loose connection (tried reseating, still same behavior) or simply a defective unit? Oh, and it's on the latest firmware, according to Samsung Magician. Occurs after 24+ hours of uptime, so it's hard to test.
