It's being used in a Gen3 slot but at least I know that it will max that port out without breaking a sweat. The 980 Pro is Samsung's top tier and I can rest easy knowing everything is safe. Price recently dropped making this a no-brainer for the newest build.

So it's usually worth a couple extra dollars to get theirs vs someone else. This upgrade worked flawlessly as expected.

Definitely wouldn't pay over $100 for it though. Installation was super easy and didn't have any issues with my mobo not recognizing the device. Mobo I'm using: Gigabyte B650 aorus elite

Recently switched to Ryzen 3950X until the 5950X is more obtainable at the time of this review. Using PCIE 4.0, I managed to score 6724MB/S Read, 4945MB/S Write. Their product page says "up to 7000/5000" so I call that close enough to be more than happy with it. Enough that I'm back here to buy a 2nd one, now that I know it lives up to the claims. Excellent work. Dissapointed I cant find these from Samsung themselves, the 1TB model. Bestbuy seems to be one of few places with them in stock but I mean hey, stock is stock!

I’ve been buying Samsung SSDs for awhile so I’m familiar with their products. But this SSD is super fast and affordable. Would totally recommend as a computer upgrade or PS5 extended hard drive.

I had failures with almost every other brand / model, but not the 980 Pro. Extremely reliable, and has great sustained write speed, which is actually pretty exceptional in-comparison to most of the competition.

I found myself staring at the windows log in screen while I thought that I was still waiting on the pc to boot. My brain was confused because this didn’t seem possible. After a month of using the drive it’s still hard to believe everything is getting done as fast as it is. ***NOTE: do your research and make sure your cpu can support the 4th generation m.2 as well as your motherboard. Also make sure the slot on your motherboard is a 4th gen m.2 slot. Some B550 motherboards have 2 M.2 slots but only one is gen 4 and the other is gen 3 that will only run at 3500 mbps max. I worked in tech support and had way to many people that didn’t know this (I too had to learn this at some point). The drive is great when it is paired with the proper components that all can run at the max speeds.***

This little gem was on sale, Installed easily. Windows 11 recognized it and formatted with ease. I keep my 4K Gopro videos on this drive. Very fast!

It's my OS drive and it does the job, and now SSD's are super cheap so you can snag 2tb drives for roughly the same price, if not less.

Recently I built a new computer with a B550 motherboard that had PCI 4.0 and moved it over to that computer. I was impressed with the speed of the drive. The motherboard I bought has 4 NVME slots and I will be filling them with the 2TB version of this drive.

No heatsink then buy one from Amazon and watch a YouTube video how to add ur, really not that hard. I use this NVME to store my ps4 games n just install ps5 only games on the internal NVME

Was exceptionally easy to install, and worked like a charm (after some quick BIOS changes). Make sure you are comfortable going into your BIOS for a hard drive like this. All in all SO much faster at reads, writes, (copying from drive to drive) etc. I ended up going back and buying another to get rid of the rest of my SSD's.
