The speeds seem to slow with not much stored on it. Some people have issues with write, some with read, and some with both but at least it's recognized. They have addressed this issue with drivers but have yet to see improvement.

Samsung 980 pro

I can't recommend this for a PS5 unless you have a way to update the firmware on the 980 pro unless you'll be happy with Reed speeds of only 5,000 MB

One day I'll get to use it

Finding the rest of the pc I wanted to build is becoming very hard to do. So this SSD is sitting with the rest of my parts in OG boxes unlit I find my Motherboard.

Great for gaming

It works like a champ. All games are uploading quickly without any issue.

Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen!

After a week of owning this SSD with impromptu 30-minute to 1-hour work sessions (checking email, light web browsing) on my laptop, Samsung Magician notified me this SSD has written almost 1TB of data. Clearly this SSD is suffering from the infamous premature wear & tear issue that started with he 990 Pro. Yes, the 980 Pro's firmware was already current right out of the box and the problem still persisted. DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. SSD. I exchanged this for the Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB. I've had that for two weeks now and it just hit about 600GB data written (and that's with me using Photoshop/Premiere/Pro, After Effects, copying large files, etc. for work). Get the FireCuda, WD SN850X, or an older EVO 970 Plus instead.

Looks Great | Marginal Speed Improvement | Drivers

Attempted to install this in an XPS 13 laptop hoping to take advantage of the new lanes. Was only able to get slight bumps. ..May not be a Samsung issue with as many BIOS issues as I've had with Dell but regardless their driver and official software support is nascent on these. Using a stock Windows driver has been my only option. Would like to see something out there to check further to rule that aspect out.

Not only that, but the person who previously purchased this and returned it left their Windows 11 operating system loaded, probably expecting Best Buy to do the right thing, and wipe the drive, and sell as used. But no, they popped it back in the box as is, sold it as a new hard drive. When I received the item it was obvious it was used, because I buy computer products all the time and there are security stickers on these. It was broken. I popped the drive into my computer and the previous customers operating system loaded, and I was able to access all his personal information, and even see they purchased the drive, then returned it.
