Load times and speed over the 980 non pro was amazing and now i also have double the space definitely recommend for a boot/ game drive

Fast memory great for the PS5 or PC. I bought a 2nd 2TB version with heatsink for the PS5 and itvworks perfectly. The 1TB version was addwd to my desktop and installation was a breeze.

This drive really *is* worth all the hype! I went from a Western Digital SN550 to this incredible drive and I definitely saw a significant speed increase. It really *is* three times faster than my WD SN550! The OS loads three times faster, the applications load three times faster, etc. It's even fast enough to handle the GNOME desktop environment without too much trouble! I should mention that I got it on sale for $100, so whether or not the speed is worth the money might be a bit difficult to determine. It's definitely worth the $100 I paid. The normal $160 price is pretty good too, especially considering that it originally sold for $230.

Pretty fast can run everything at great speed, games load fast and my Windows PC only takes about 10 seconds to start up.

Super simple to install, really fast drive. I put all of my games on it and they run flawlessly. I'd recommend this for more internal storage!

I needed to increase the storage on my gaming PC and this product works flawlessly. It is very fast and I am able to transfer very large files quickly.

This SSD is amazing! I replaced my 256GB SSD System drive with this 1 TB Internal SSD, and the increase in speed is substantial, not to mention having 1TB of space for all the system and programs. Highly recommend this drive.

Don't forget to get heatsink. Works in and reads well above 6500mb/s. Way above ps5 recommended 5509mb/s. Uses for hours with no slowdown or studders.

Excellent storage module. Very fast write speed. I made mine my boot drive and start up time for Windows has been less than a minute. My only wishes are for a 2TB device and for the cost to be lower. Still worth having, especially if you're making a new PC build.

Great product Easy to use Runs a but hot in general, so make sure you have sufficient cooling. ~50C at all time (even at idle) Samsung Disk Magician works magic for transferring all old data to the new drive. Did not require reinstalling anything.

First of all, be aware, the Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD will only deliver the data transfer rate of PCIe 3.0 x2, on the latest Intel based systems, since Intel doesn't support PCIe 4.0 yet. Only the latest AMD based systems, support PCIe 4.0 x4. As such, you will get the fastest READ/ WRITE only on AMD's vs. on Intel. That being said, I'm getting around 3216 MB/s READ and 3313 MB/s WRITE, according to CrystalDisk Mark 8.0.1, on my Intel NUC8i7HVK Hayes Canyon system, and its support of 3.0 x2. As such, I really can't go any faster, due to hardware limitations, but that's still fast. M.2 SSD's are very easy to install physically, and to install Windows 10 on. Be sure your system supports M.2 NVMe SSD's. I have no complaints at all, especially when it comes to Samsung products. I own four different PCs/Laptops, and I run Samsung M.2 SSD's in all of them.

The Samsung 980Pro 1Tb was bought with the intention to be used as an external backup storage device. As such, it was paired with a USB C to USB C external drive enclosure with (only ) maximum throughput of 10Gb/s. When used with a USB C to USB C capable Notebook, the transfer was blindingly fast. The SSD has fulfilled its primary purpose for me. it is an amazing deal for a Gen 4 SSD. The SSD had a manufacturing date of July 2023, so I expect that it would not have the Firmware issues of the earlier production models.

This SSD is almost perfect for any PS5. A separate compatible heatsink has to be purchased in order to use this SSD in your PS5. Installation is relatively simple, though. It has plenty of storage to increase your game library.

So I've been buying Samsung SSDs ever since I started building PCs about 5 years ago. They never failed to impress. The reliability and constant firmware and software updates, other than performance, is what drew me in to Samsung. Hands down they're the industry's best. Long story short, I got a good deal off a generic PCIE Gen 4 drive that's NOT Samsung so I was like I'll give it a try. A year later after using that drive, I started to have problems with my OS (Windows 10). At the time, I thought it was the drive failing but it turns out it was just Windows 10 being corrupted, and the SSD was fine. So why am I telling that story? Samsung drives will give you a peace of mind that it will rarely fail, and that it's reliability and constant updates to its FW and software is amazing. If you have mission critical files, don't skimp and buy a Samsung drive. You won't be disappointed.
