I’ve used several 970 EVOs in builds, and for me that was fast. The 980 Pro is on another stratosphere. This thing is FAST. I’m using it as my boot drive and my PC almost instantly boots to Windows, even when it has been sitting unplugged. Downloading and transferring files is mind-boggling. It’s almost instantaneous. If you’re on the fence about spending more for a Gen4 vs. Gen3 NVMe, stop contemplating. The difference in speed is simply unreal with Gen4, particularly the 980 Pro.

Great Product, Samsung needs to supply screw.

Samsung should provide the screw for the drive to be attached to the mother board. I had to search for over an hour to find a screw to finish the install. Samsung should either include or offer at the time of sale the option to purchase the hardware needed to actually complete the install

These SSDs are quick!

This arrangement can be noticably faster than buckling on a SATA SSD, and generally operates on 1/5 the power of a spinny drive. My 3-drive system is now all-SSD and big files (think Photoshop and Premiere) load and save quickly. A great production workhorse upgrade!
