The reason I say this is because the 1TB version is already almost full, and I only have a few games installed. If I had gotten a 2TB or even a 4TB version, I would have plenty of room to grow.

The first was a first generation PCIe 4.0 M.2. It was the upstart newcomer who's name also starts with an S. This time I decided to go with the Samsung as all my previous experience with PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSDs, my Samsungs were always faster. I put this in a new build with a new high end X570 board and my read speeds are 6400 MBs/sec and 4400 MBs/sec read speed. So although it is still fast, it is taking a third row seat compared to a lot of it's competition. My board has heat sinks and a fan cooling the M.2 slot that it is in and it stays in the high 30 degree C range. I guess I am most disappointed with it's write performance. Although it is faster than my first gen 4.0 M.2's read speed, it does not have that much faster write speed and that is important to me when I am saving large Photoshop files. Just not happy about paying Samsung price and getting less than newcomer 4.0 M.2 performance. And just as a note, I have a high end Ryzen 5000 CPU, so that isn't the problem.

Benchmark test results may differ depending upon the system environment, host software and hardware configuration. I encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support to better diagnose and assist you with your speed issue.
