I could bore you with stats that are easy to find anywhere, but I'll just say that this drive has plenty of speed. I use this drive mainly to load photos and video that I will do post process work on and it gives me a good work flow speed. Installation was easy in my Asus laptop

Speedy and reliable

Very quick and have had 0 issues. It has been running in my PC for about four months now and recent Samsung Magician benchmarks show this running at: 7085 Seq Read, 342529 Random Read, 5170 Seq Write, and 303710 Random Write. This is with 1.9TB total written use already to drive. I also have a WD m2 that performs a bit faster random R/W but slower sequential speeds overall.

So Nice You'll Want Two

Both still working like a charm. Online games are smooth as butter. I turn on my computer power, do a spin in my chair, and by the time I'm facing forward again it's done.

Incredible performance w/ PCIE4 - if you have it!

To meet the advertised speeds on the box, the 980 pro must be paired with a PCIE 4.0 capable motherboard and CPU. Without that, you'll get approximately the same speeds as all NVME on PCIE 3.0. The list of PCIE4 CPUs and boards is relatively short now, so beware. All that said - when I upgraded my mobo (CPU already supported PCIE), this drive absolutely SCREAMS. Incredible performance.

when this SSD is used with PCIe 3.0

I think the PCIe 3.0 maximum speed is around 3200 MB/s (theoretical limit 3940MB/s). However, Samsung 980 Pro, when running ac PCIe 3.0, still has a much better performance in terms of Seq and 4K (See the pictures for details). I personally think it is still worth buying this product for the system disk even if the interface is PCIe 3.0.
