Also after a firmware update using Samsung Software, speed gets close to 7GB/s on PS5. You do have to get an aftermarket heatsink but they're really cheap.

Replace a hard drive with one of these and it will no longer be your bottleneck. Make sure you have a Gen 4 NVMe slot available before buying it.

Mounted inside my case and in my two years of use so far, haven't had one issue with the mounting coming loose or connections needing to be rebooted.

It is being used as a Windows boot drive for the AMD Ryzen 9 5950x and it took less than 20 seconds to boot to the desktop.

The best added value is the Samsung data migration tool if you have an older Samsung drive. Yes, you can migrate data with other tools if you were technically inclined. But the Samsung software makes it a breeze.

They simply can't be beat for quality, longevity and performance. I am more than happy putting this in my new build as my OS drive knowing I will have worry free performance.

Good hard drive upgrade

The process of cloning the current drive was fairly quick. But you do need an external enclosure that can connect via usb c. Make sure to pick up a good enclosure from a reliable place.

My desktop boots up extremely fast and I see very little, if any, latency when opening files on the drive or running programs installed on it.
