Customers are saying

Customers value the large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, and quiet operation of the activewash 5.2 Cu. Ft. 15-Cycle Steam Top-Loading Washer. They also find it easy to use and appreciate its many features. However, some customers have noted that the drum depth is excessive, and the spin cycle could be improved. Concerns have also been raised regarding the washer's durability and tendency to become unbalanced.

Purchased this Samsung set to replace a 30 year old Maytag set. The capacity is super large and it does a great job cleaning. The built in sink is a feature that I didn't expect to use, but it is very handy. So many settings that I will probably never use them all. Runs quietly, too. The only two awkward things: the drawer that holds the detergent is hard to fill because the sink is in the way and I can't reach the bottom of the washer's tub.

Does a great job washing clothes, has many cycles, however is deep, so someone 5ft tall can't reach the bottom to take the clothes out.

Seems to be a solid washer. It does everything we need and more. Steam was a feature we really wanted, however we skeptical about front load washers. This one was actually a customer return scratch/dent so got a great deal below sales prices. We have yet to utilize the wash tray, haven't decided if we wanted to remove it or let be. If your not careful you can hit your head on it while reach into the bottom of the washer

I got a good black friday deal on this washer. Unfortunately after the purchase, my item was left on the active floor. After 3 consecutive weekly visits and a promise of removal it was still there. It was most disturbing. After calling over a salesman who I asked what was up with this washer, he responded by kicking it. I had to tell him I had bought this washer and not to kick it anymore. He seemed dumbfounded. Didn't even apologize, just acted as if this was an outrage that it would be sitting there. Even though in the system it was clearly sold.

after having front loaders for the past 10+ years I decided to switch back to a top loader... seems like they've made great strides and there's no more washer thing in the middle taking up space. this model was most interesting since it has the sink-like tub attached for pre-treating/rinsing/handwashing... that's a really nice extra. the only down side to this unit so far has been the depth of the tub. I'm 5'6" and it's literally a stretch to get clothes out of there. love the steam and jet options... so far very happy

Better than the front-load we used to have!

We used to have a front-load washer and always had problems with larger loads. No matter what we tried, the unit always seemed unbalanced. We have no such problems with this unit! The top load without the large agitator in the middle provides ample space for the largest of loads and, best yet, the spin cycle works flawlessly! There are numerous wash options and it even plays a little song when done. Compared to our front-loading unit, this one does use a lot more water. With that being said, the clothes seem to get cleaner than they did in our older (only five years old) front-load unit. We also do not have the mold or other issues associated with the front-load unit. The wash basin is a nice touch, but it is not that big of a deal given that we have a utility tub right next to the washer. I have seen some of the other reviews that complain about the unit being noisy. The washer does not strike me as any more noisy than any other washing machine. As some mentioned, my wife has to stand on her tip-toes to reach all the way to the bottom of the basin, but she doesn't mind... She loves our new washer.

I never knew what I was missing out on until I got this washer. I can do three times the load in this as I could in my old one. That's HUGE. I have two little ones (3 yr old and 1 yr old) so I am constantly doing laundry. At least I used to be. Now I only have to do two loads a week. It's amazing! I have yet to completely figure this washer out to be honest. It has a lot more bells and whistles than my old one, but it's quite handy when I have dirty gym stuff to just throw it on the "gym clothes" load, and it's obvious it cleans much better than my old washer. I just couldn't go with a front load washer, no matter how great the recommendations, because I'm not the type to remember to leave the door open (and heaven forbid a kid crawls in it...). I'm very pleased with my choice though. I'm even short (only 5'3") and the reviews I read prior to purchasing said I wouldn't be able to reach the tiny socks at the bottom, but thats not true! I haven't had to use a step stool to get the last tiny sock at the bottom. So glad I didn't let that deter me from this purchase!

We bought this washer during the July 4th holiday weekend and go an excellent deal on this and the dryer combo. We love the basket at the top of the washer. It makes it easier to wash clothes that can't be regularly washed in the washing machine. The size of the washing machine itself is tremendous. You can fit a lot of clothes and can easily fit a washable comforter or things of that nature. Has a lot of wash settings which is great.

Finally upgraded my old washer and dryer and after visiting numerous stores to check washers out and also reading many reviews online, I decided to go with the new Activewash Samsung. I've been using it for a month now and completely love it. Especially coming from a 15+ year old washer, it is like night and day. Super quiet and my machine isn't marching all over the floor during the spin cycle. LOL I had Best Buy perform the hook up and removal of my old washer and dryer and had no issues at all. Completely satisfied with my purchase!

I love the rinse basin at the top. Machine is quiet. Deep tub and lack of agitator make this machine great for bedding and other large items. The only thing I would change is to make the rinse basin clear so that you could see into the tub when in wash mode. I would definitely purchase this washing machine again and I HAVE all ready recommended it to friends.

I was perfectly happy with my 10 year old basic washer before it started leaking and forced me to look for a new one. I found this one on sale at Best Buy, plus Samsung was offering an additional discount for buying the washer/dryer pair, so I went for it. I doubt we'll ever use all of the features, but the deal was so good, I don't feel like I wasted a lot of money. I had seen this model on TV and figured the sink would be useful since I'm expecting a baby and will be washing a lot of things by hand. The preprogrammed settings are helpful, though I mostly use the custom setting. I love that it knows how much water to put in, and my clothes always come out clean! The capacity on this thing is amazing! I was able to wash 2 twin comforters, 2 sheet sets, pillowcases and kids' blankets, all in one load, and it handled that with no problem. Pretty quiet operation, though I had to get used to the song it plays after the cycle is done. The door is made of lightweight plastic (still sturdy) and closes gently. With my old washer, I was always paranoid that one of my kids would get injured if the heavy metal door slammed down on their hands. No worries with this one. I still have a lot to test on this washer, but so far I'm loving it.

Stylish, quite and cleans all of our laundry very well.. Controls are easy to learn and use. Has all of the automatic wash settings I could need. Additionally the Best Buy delivery and install guys were very professional. The installed and insured the washing machines was level to ensure proper function and balance. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I love the "sink" feature of this washer and have used it several times in the month or so since we installed it. There are a ton of different settings and seems to do a good job of getting clothes clean. If I use even a half cap of detergent, I add on the Extra Rinse cycle. But usually I just cut to half what I used in my old washer and that's plenty since less water is used in this machine. The only thing I wish I could change is that I had to go out and buy a step stool to get the clothes out of it! I am only 5 feet tall and there's no way I can get to things at or near the bottom of the tub. Not even close. It's great for comforters and large blankets or lots of towels, and that's why I bought it , but it is HUGE.
