Made My Thanksgiving

This was a risk. The range was delivered on Monday and I had guests coming for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. My home is an attached townhouse and we have no gas in the building. I put up with two different electric ranges and wound up cooking mostly with the microwave and my credit card (AKA dining out). for 12 years. I work a lot of hours and used to cook, but more or less gave it up. Hosting this dinner was taking a chance. I LOVE IT. The blue lights might seem gimmicky to some, but after all these years of missing a gas flame they warmed my kitchen for the holiday. But let's talk about performance. I put the giblets in a pot of water on SIMMER. With the Kenmore electric I had to constantly watch something like that. It would cool off or get too hot. The Samsung held it steady; just a steady quiver and an occasional bubble. This made a rich stock for my gravy. Bring a big pot of water up to a boil for the potatoes...no problem getting it there or bringing it back to a boil to cook them. The oven performed very well for the turkey although I have not yet fully figured out the probe. Then came that unwanted Thanksgiving surprise. A guest texted me that he decided to bring a special pasta dish, traditional for his family. It was all assembled but he needed the oven at 350 for an hour. OK this would have been a real crisis because I have Brussels sprouts to roast and braised leeks to reheat. I turn on the heating drawer and put the leeks in there. The turkey came out to rest so I then divided the oven in to the two compartments for the pasta and the sprouts. It saved the day because my dear friend then had more elaborate instructions. Could I turn it up to some temperature for 15 minutes and then lower it to another for 45? Sure no problem. :-) About the cookware, yes I will have to give up several aluminum pieces and my 3 time honored copper bottom Revereware pieces. But I got a great deal on an 11 piece stainless set that was on sale, and my Le Creuset enamelware works just fine. And the noise, yes there are noises on the highest settings. I was prepared for that thanks to other reviewers, but unlike some it didn't bother me. The refrigerator makes more noise than that. I had some problems with the Best Buy ordering and delivery system. We had a dispute over whether I needed to pay for installation or not. This caused a delay and took a lot of phone time. I was very frustrated with the company, but the individual customer service people were all very helpful to the extent that they had any authority to act. I won in the end and had the best Thanksgiving dinner that I have had since the divorce deprived me of my gas range. Highly recommended for those who need to replace an electric range. If gas were a choice, however, I would probably still choose gas because of the cost of the appliance.

Disappointed that it doesn't come in black stainless which prevented me from purchasing rest of appliances in the black stainless that i would've liked to get.

Oven did not work

The induction stovetop is great. But the oven did not work at all. Was defective so arranged for a replacement. It took two days for Best Buy to get in system. Then the delivery company called the night before to cancel. They wanted to reschedule for after Thanksgiving but we could not be without an oven (had hauled away old one). Several calls to delivery company (XPO) and Best Buy (including manager) got us nowhere. Had to cancel order. Manager was surprisingly rude. Now fighting to get refund for installation of defective stove.

I had had it with the Kitchen Aid oven with glass cooktop that seemed to burn water! The induction cooktop is heavy duty, beautiful, stays clean and heats up very quickly (as does the oven when preheating). I LOVE IT! I just got the matching rangehood with fan (another company) installed today. Only negative is waiting 4-6 wks for both of the items and then the install! Haven't tried the duoflex yet! Got rid of 3/4 of my pots and pans (but had new All Clad) and bought the new heavy duty Anolon at Macy's (much more reasonably priced than All Clad).

First one I bought the mother board went out, next exchange now moisture is staying between the oven door. And Samsung does nothing and now Best Buy does nothing. Very disappointing.

DO NOT BUY GAS, INDUCTION IS SUPERIOR

There is no reason to buy gas guys. This range heats quicker, cooks more evenly, and with less clean up than gas. This range is more healthy than gas, because there are no gas fumes with induction. The duo oven cooks extremely well. Thank you Samsung for this range, it has made my life better. Truly.

I love this stove, like LOVE. There are so many awesome features. The temp probe cooking, the split oven, the three different types of rack to cook with, convection oven, the induction top (boil water so freaking fast!), the touch screen...i could go on and on. If you like to cook this stove is amazing. I highly recommend to anyone.

Purchased the stove about 2 months ago. Put it to the heavy cooking test for large groups. WOW it is AWESOME! This is the best stove I have ever had. Induction is the way to go. This range keeps perfect temps and better yet easy to clean. If you are looking to invest in a product that will not only look awesome it cooks like a dream, I say BUY this range! You will be glad you did for years to come....

"Great" Oven with Issues

Overall the induction aspect of the range is wonderful. The heating of the oven is erratic at best. I recalibrated the oven and bought an oven thermometer however, oftentimes when the oven says it has preheated to the correct temperature it has not.
WORST aspect is the oven did not come with gap-filler kit despite the fact that it says in the manual it is an included item. Samsung simply punted back to Best Buy and vice versa. BE AWARE...if you are going to buy this $3,000+ oven you will also need to purchase separately the gap filler kit.

A Lemon

Our old range was a basic builders model and 13 years old. It took me a year of looking around and researching before I bought this range. I wanted a stove that had true convection, induction and a bridge and there just aren't any made. There are 6 of us and we do a lot of cooking and baking so these features are important to us.
I finally settled for the Samsung Flex Duo based on my research and the reviews. I have away all my old cookware and bought new to work with the induction cook top. The day the range was delivered, we made dinner to use all the features. That was when the problems started.
Whe made fries in the oven but they wouldn't bake. After 40 minutes the were still soft and undercooked. Though the stove was set at 450, if you opened the door the actual temp would flash and it read 250.
Next problem was the large burner. It only recognized certain pans yet all of the plans worked on the other burners and they are all induction compatible.
We put in a call for service. The company that came out was awesome! Prompt, courteous and easy to schedule an appointment with. He couldn't fox it. He contacted Samsung tech support and followed what they said. Samsung sent wrong and defective parts the first few times. But what they suggested didn't work. While waiting for a part, we tried cleaning the oven and found we couldn't because of an error code for the door.
After finally replacing all replaceable parts, the customer service folks at Samsung were contacted. They called within a few days apologized and made arrangements to replace the range or credit what I paid for it. I choose the latter. I'm waiting on my new range to become available.
I'm giving the range 2 stars simply because of the great service, both by the repair people and Samsung's customer service.

This range is incredible! The oven heats up amazingly fast and the burners are spot on. The learning curve is minimal, especially if you've used a gas cooktop. I have had zero issues at the 90 day mark. Even the husband that doesn't cook much is having a great time...I love this range!

Stylish, easy to use.

Overall:
This stylish stove cooks exceptionally well. As expected from induction technology, the temperature is extremely responsive. We purchased an All-Clad d5 set and All-Clad teapot specifically for using with this stove. The materials the stove are made from seem to be durable.
Noise:
The stove's manual explains odd noises you may hear while cooking with induction. We did hear a hum with the teapot while at a high temperature setting but it was quieter when the heat was reduced. Quality pans reduce these noises according to the stove's manual. Cooking on high heat increases noise but the All-Clad warns not to use their pans at high temperature anyways because it could damage the pan so that shouldn't be an issue.
As a degree of hum seems to be present at all temperatures (it's low but would be annoying if your expecting silence), I would not recommend this stove to someone who is annoyed by that.
That said, I consider myself someone who'd be annoyed by the noise and two meals in, it isn't really bothering me.
Control location:
The touch pad is sensitive and twice, I leaned across it to reach something on the back burner and it thought I was trying to turn on the oven. My lean did manage to turned on the oven light. However, the control panel has a lock feature that took care of the issue.

Great electric oven

We remodeled our kitchen and bought this induction oven to replace our 20 yr old electric oven. Heats up fast. Food that overflowed the pot does not burned and is easily wiped clean. One important note is to make sure that your pots and pans have a magnetic base like cast iron or stainless steel that is magnetic.

My wife and I LOVE this stove!!! It sat in our storage for 3 years before we were able to use it. Wow was it worth the wait! It boils water in just 1 minute. It cooks so evenly and efficiently just like gas! The Flef Duo oven has been fantastic! It bakes at the right temperature all the time and there is no bleed through between the split ovens. You can literally bake fish in the top and cookies in the bottom and the smell from one will not affect the other. I highly recommend this product!!
