Have three of these in our condo for two years, have not had any problems

Plays dvds but slow response. It doesn't play burnedmovies

Works ok but humming noise happens off and on. Can not recommend

I love Samsung products but this DVD player sometimes won't work right. It seems to get stuck and I usually have to unplug and plug it back in again to get it to reset so I can play the dvd. Sometimes I can't even get it to turn off without unplugging it.

Didn't work very well, and keeps randomly not working.

The young kid told me it plays all DVD formats including computer burned. He was wrong and now I'm stuck with this price of garbage. Should have bought the $20 DVD player from target for the same outcome. Thanks

I got mine open box for $25, so my review is biased. It came with no remote, and the unit has limited controls so I am limiting to play, stop, and open tray when operating it. The picture quality is meh... but you get what you pay for.

So expensive and worked bad from the first day. Menu screens are so generic and the remote broke after one use

Not 1020p without using HDMI from what I read. Would be nice to have a device to upconvert to 1080 using component outputs.

Tried to watch a blu ray last night. The movie kept stopping and returning to the start menu. Don't waste your money.

This review will deal with it as a CD Player and not as a DVD for Home Theater. Got it home and put it into my two channel system Audio only. First impression was less than stellar. So many operational glitches. Not happy with the display window on the unit as it only display minutes and count downs from there, does not show what track is playing. In about 3 days it sorted itself out and the glitches seemed to have cured themselves. Although the tray load is flimsy and noisy and takes about 20 seconds to realize there is a CD on board and not a DVD. The remote is okay for DVD use but very limited for CD use. By about 10 days in it started to sound halfway decent, but nowhere near the outright sonic s would hear from a dedicated CD Player. Knowing this was cheaply made I decided to work on isolation. I place it on vi-bra pods and added sound deadening sheet to top of the unit and place a three pound weight on top of the unit. And viola now it sounds darn near as good as a dedicated CD Player. Added expensive interconnects that cost five times the price of this unit. So another veil was lifted. Still it is not the last word in the Audio experience and cannot recommend this as a stand alone CD Player. It will serve me until I locate a dedicated CD Player that I can live with. As it stands straight out of the box it is a poor excuse as a CD Player. Maybe as a DVD player is different, but I doubt it, due to its cheap construction and lack of a proper display window.

Didn't even last me for 3 months, I am having to exchange it for another DVD tomorrow as it doesn't play my dvd's, it stays on load but doesn't pass that menu. Do not recommend i've only used it 4 times since i've bought it.

Bought this Jan 2016, was working good at first, now (Feb 2017) always shows 'no disc' when I put in the DVD after spinning loudly. Very disappointed.

Never worked properly since the date of purchase. Once power on had to reset every time.

Didn't work when I got it home. Dvd would not eject. Hag to return it to the store and associate was able to recover my Dvd from product.

I wanted a DVD player with HD Upconversion for my bedroom and to replace a cheap DVD player that I've had for 7 years. The picture quality is great, but that's the only good thing I can say about this Samsung. I've only used it for 2 days and already the DVD player got stuck while trying to eject a disc. When I tried to eject a DVD, the word "reset" came up and as the word was scrolling it got stuck on "re" and wouldn't respond to anything I did. I had to unplug it and plug it back up to get it to respond again. It also makes mechanical noises while playing a movie and any transition into the next chapter/scene is pretty obvious. It hesitates into the next chapter every time and the volume lowers for a second. Also, if you point the remote at the DVD player at an angle, 9 times out of 10 it will not respond. My old DVD player works 10 times better and I got it for 15 bucks 7 years ago. I am replacing it only because I wanted a player with HDMI input since movies are somewhat blurry on an HD TV without it. However, with the amount of problems I am experiencing with this Samsung, I'd rather have the low resolution DVD player that hasn't given me any problems instead of dealing with this. Maybe I have a defective player, but I don't want to take a chance in exchanging it for another just to deal with the same issues. I hope I find the receipt, because this thing is going back to Best Buy.

Stopped working after 1 month and Best Buy wouldn't let me return it ba use there is a 15 day return.
