Ice Maker replaced 3x in the first 2-3 years.

On the other hand, the fridge itself is bad. I've had Samsung replace the ice maker maybe 3x in the first 3 years. Although the ice maker is now working (no longer turning the ice cubes into one big block), the water that comes out isn't always cold. And 4 years later, the light that illuminates when you select water/ice cubes/crushed iced is dead. I would not recommend this fridge. I should have just bought a regular fridge and stuck an iPad on it instead.

We find the Family Hub to be a terrible Internet appliance and things like it won't connect to our iPhones a major hassle. (That didn't bother us when one of us had a Samsung phone, but that is no longer the case.) I cannot go to Internet pages I want when I'm cooking so I still keep my tablet in the kitchen for Internet. Not being able to tell it I"m cleaning it and having the door-open warning going is silly. Not being able to set actual temperature in the flex section is annoying and not being able to set the amount of air flow in that section limits its use for more advance purposes. The ice maker is terrible, we are always running our of ice and it drips water every time we open the upper left door. The shelves are difficult to adjust and position for changing needs and container heights. The butter tray isn't covered and able to be set to warmer temperature. Buy the one without the hub you'll be much happier for much less money.

Dispenser/ice maker

A gush of water rushes out every time I have to dispense Ice . There isn’t a reservoir to hold spilled water, as such water runs all down the fridge and I have to mop my floor every single time. Then, there are times I’m trying to get ice and it takes forever, sometimes it just doesn’t dispense at all. And finally. If I dispense ice twice the third time apparently there’s no ice. Weird. All around the dispenser is SLOW. Other than that. The fridge is a hit with my guests

Cooling issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.6 weeks after installing it, the cooling system shut down. Water was leaking out of the door dispenser. I thought it was just a water leak, but upon checking, the ice maker quit. Then I checked the fridge, and all my food is "dewy" and the freezer food is thawing. I called Samsung and after unplugging and restarting, the fridge temp was 62 and the freezer was up to 27 degrees. The earliest service I can get is Monday. An entire weekend with no fridge is not ok. On the family Hub, we still haven't figured out how to create a family calendar. I've added items to my calendar but they never show up. Not sure what to do there.

Amazing refrigerator!

It was a very small opening but I knew it wasn't right. I really like the fridge so I tried to see if it could be fixed. I was so amazed at how far Best Buy went to make things right. After having it checked out it turned out it couldn't be fixed. They called me right away to arrange to have a new one sent to me. It too was messed up so I refused it. The third one is finally good and we are truly happy with the fridge and the Best Buy warranty , I will never buy another appliance anywhere else! No one else has ever been this good about their warranty.

Samsung customer service is TERRIBLE!

I was especially excited about having the family hub. However, from the day it was installed I’ve experienced problems with getting the hub to work. I contacted Samsung repeatedly and received no help! Samsung would rather give you the run around over and over than assist you, the appliances are actually pretty good quality yet the frustration of dealing with the lack of customer service dealing with issues arise mean I’ll be purchasing from a different manufacturer in the future. Another note regarding for some reason this refrigerator since day one has for some reason sounded like something is dripping every once in a while the noise it makes is like water droplets hitting a piping hot frying pan, can’t seem to figure out what it is, at the same time the ice maker no longer works. Don’t know if the issues are related.

DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We called Samsung to come out and repair the fridge. They sent a tech, who told them that the issue could not be repaired. We followed up with Samsung for a refund, and have been jumping through f-ing hoops for the last 6 weeks. They love to change your information in their system at whim, so good luck with any kind of paper trail. Ticket numbers? Nope. They change those without telling you. We are completely dumbfounded by how such a large corporation could be so unresponsive and irresponsible. Oh, wait. Now, I get why their phones were exploding.

Good fridge/bad ice maker

The ice maker has a bad design that has it constantly building up a layer of ice on the top. We find ourselves defrosting the ice maker once every 3 weeks so it will continue to make ice. If the icemaker issue got fixed this would be a 5 star fridge.

I do not recommend unless you want a fridge that has a night light on the front of it. i bought a samsung fridge, washer and dryer, 65" 4k curved tv and not happy with any of it since samsung starting getting rid of there software.

Ice maker is a MAJOR issue

The only complaint was the inside seems small when you start putting items in and organization can be challenging. But i would have definitely recommended it at that time. 2nd year things started happening with the ice maker at the most inopportune times! Thanksgiving and ALL my family is coming to my house for the holiday. No ice. I had noticed the cubes getting smaller in the weeks preceding but suddenly NO ice and I have 22 people coming to dinner. We bought bags of ice and made it through. I started researching potential problems with my ice maker and found that I’m definitely not the only one with this problem! There’s been a class action lawsuit filed against Samsung because the problem is so prolific and Samsung refuses to do a recall. So do your RESEARCH! Google it! It’s not just the smart frig but ALL Samsung French Door models that have the ice maker in the top section. My Mom bought a Samsung french door unit at the same time I did thats 28 cu ft and I rotate between her house and mine, every other week defrosting the ice compartments so that we have ice! It’s exhausting ! I am fairly easy to please, don’t like to complain, and I don’t ask for much. I also work very hard for everything I have and to pay thousands for a new product that has such a major defect that the company is well aware of is not acceptable to me! Do yourself a favor and run away from any Samsung french door frig that has the ice maker in the top! Save yourself a lot of time, stress, and headache!

The ability to add multiple users and sync with the Family Hub app meant my wife and I could both see our calendars on the fridge. We could both add items to a shopping list and sync it with our phones. The ability to have a weather widget and picture frame were nice as was the ability to connect to my Samsung TV and stream the game while I was cooking. With the addition of Amazon Music I could log in and select something from my music and drill down to a specific track I wanted to listen to while loading the dishwasher. Now, all of that is gone. Samsung decided to sunset the Family Hub app and bring it into the Smart Things app. This meant only one person can have an account on the fridge so no more shared calendar. This meant I now needed to download additional content to get access to a shopping list. The shopping list is now nothing more than a checklist for online ordering. Good luck adding "butter" and ordering it. I guess you could place a wager on what butter ends up at your door. There is no check off list so the shopping list is useless if you go to the store. This has also seemed to break the app to connect to a TV. I have two Samsung Q series TVs and neither of them will actually connect. Lately they have also removed functionality from the Amazon Music app. No more track listing and good luck just listening to one album you have purchase. Now its just random stuff, I select Killswitch Engage (I own a few albums), select an album and boom, Lamb of God starts playing. Dont get me wrong, LoG is awesome but Killswitch is a different vibe. I guess now I realize I could have bought an LG for less and spent fifity bucks on a sync able calendar that I could just mount to the door of the LG and get just as much use out of it as I did with this fridge. Basically any feature we used has been altered or removed. Seriously, I know, the big screen looks cool in the store and the demo makes it seem like it can do all these things for you. Keyword, YOU because nobody else in your family would be able to connect and use anything on it. There is one useful feature left, the timer app. Since my Samsung microwave and Samsung dual convection oven do not have a timer that goes beyond 99 minutes. The timer app on the fridge fills that void. Thing about that timer? It does not notify you on your phone when the time is up and just sings a song so if you do not hear it, you might burn your dish. I guess with the newer version I can say I have had no issues with the ice maker so it has that going for it.

Sexy looking fridge of the future

The music's volume can get pretty loud, also I love streaming tv on it! It's very convenient and looks nice in my kitchen. 3 cameras inside so you can check to see what's in it. Just ask bixby to do whatever you want and it gets done!

Biggest Waste of Money Ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in May of 2017, and seven months after purchase, power supply died, lost all of my frozen/refrigerated goods. Samsung offered to replace, but didn't have receipts/time to list everything. Then, in May of this year, had to have the temp. sensor and ice machine replaced at a cost of $800 from the authorized repair center. 3 months and 2 days later, water leaking out from under crisper, repair center says too bad, warranty only good for three months. In addition, freezer compressor has died with no warning, lost everything in the freezer, again. Repair center tells me will send a guy between 1 and 4 pm. He calls at 5:30 with attitude to let me know he's on his way, told him don't bother. Research shows Samsung has numerous lawsuits against there refrigerators. Didn't buy an extended warranty, because salesperson assured me it wasn't necessary, as Samsung is a quality product. Lesson learned, TV's and phones are great, appliances are terrible!

Bad product, terrible customer service.

The fridge was wider than the stated measurement in the description about half way up the fridge due to "insulation". So we had to move a wall! Then 3 months into ownership bottom freezer stopped cooling. This is where the real pain started. It took samsung almost 2 weeks to send someone out to fix it. A family of 4 lived out of a cooler. Best buy would not even consider a return on the fridge. Still we stuck by the fridge and best buy until last week the cooling element on the bottom freezer has once again began to stop working. I have pledged with best by for an exchange or just a even trade for a different fridge and received a big "NO". This maybe a great fridge and we may have just gotten a lemon but trust me you really dont want to take a chance on getting caught in the customer service purgatory that my family is currently caught in dealing with both best buy and samsung.

Buy anything BUT this refrigerator!

I spent cost to $4K on a refrigerator, that I now have to buy bags of ice because it just doesn't work. Storage space is another issue - terrible design that I didn't get a full grasp on until after buying.
