I am just in love with this chromebook and I never thought those words would come out of my mouth. But it is such a good looking device with its overall super slim body and pointy square corners it's one good looking device. And it is by far the best chromebook I have ever used. It doesn't lag or take forever to load the picture is beautiful, and the it is so convonvient to be able to flip the screen around in the kitchen while I cook.

Best screen on the market with poor battery life

The good things about this computer are: the best screen on the market, construction quality, very light weight, fit & finish, quick, ample storage and pen. The bad are battery life (even after days without using it), screen auto dim constantly, fingerprint scanner does not work all the time, bad sound quality, no backlit keys for this price range is unacceptable.

Ok, My expectations were mixed. All the reviews about the bad battery life had me worried. I justified the risk since I have a nice 74Wh Battery bank. I carry it all the time anyway. At 50% brightness, the first use, I had a 4.5 hr battery life. I was watching a 4K movie and some browsing after wards. I let it get down to 10% and plugged er in for the night. As I write this review, I am on 3.5 hours and 60% battery life to go, all just browsing and cloud software use. I turned off the adaptive color, otherwise everything is the same. OK, now that I got that out of the way. The Fiesta Red is striking! I really wish I could prop this up at the local coffee shop and await all the ooh and ah's from the unsuspecting passerby's. OK, maybe a bit much, but hey, I have been locked out of my favorite coffee shop for nearly a month now. The keyboard has one minor flaw, no way to adjust the brightness manually. Otherwise as good as it gets. Coming from using a SurfacePro 7 keyboard, the shallow keys is preferred. Touch Pad? Again, SP7 isnt much larger, love it! Screen? I am used to the AMOLED Screens and prefer them, even over my iPad Pro 11 inch (1st Gen). 4K? Way more than I need for now, yet my astigmatism loves it. Chrome OS is for a specific use, not just students. Any professional who is 99.9% Cloud based, it is all I have been using my SP7 for. Office 365 apps are as much as I need. I do not need full desktop abilities. I don't plan on using this for photo editing etc. Color! Did I mention the color? Oops. Looks like I did. It is striking and exciting! This laptop is a premium device at a lower end of the premium price. Higher end of the Chrome family, yet when comparing "non gaming" performance. It is a speed demon! I have a Note 9, so the pen is what I expected. Way more convenient than a magnetized pen like with the iPad Pro and SP7. My SP7 pen tip has been replaced twice because of being bumped off the tablet while carrying. If you are a Chrome Book user? This may be just what you are looking for. Get a battery bank for when a plug wont be near by. Should you buy this? So long as you can live with what I and other reviewers have mentioned? BATTERY LIFE! Than that would be a YES!

this has to be one of the best (if not the best) chromebooks made in 2020-2021, and its still great today. im writing this review on it in fact. Beautiful screen (13.3 inch Amoled 4k) lots of power (i5-10210u) 8gb ram and a 256gb ssd. one of the thiniest chromebooks out. only negatives are lower battery life (they claim 8 hours, more like 5 with general usage) I just take a spare power adapter with me and all is good. speakers are good, not a branded thing (B&O, or AKG or anything) but they are side firing and sound nice (listening to streaming audio while I write this). speaking of audio it even has a headphone jack and includes an S-Pen that stores inside like a Note. while I havent used it much in tablet mode as it is a 13.3 inch screen, its nice having the pen for writing/drawing

There are plenty of reviews that you can read about but this is coming from an average user who doesn't need windows apps or mac apps. First off if you are looking for a premium look and feel this is it. Samsung has nailed it. Sure you can talk about swapping the web cam and the one below the screen (which should have been their attention to detail but its ok. We will just look blurry for our meetings and webinars which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Battery life is ok. I personally don't mind considering i can use it in bursts and I dont sit there monitoring the battery percentages at most and with it being usb c I can always fast charge it back. No biggie Lightning fast and responsive. Screen is amazing. You definitely need to see it in person to appreciate how beautiful items pop off the screen in 4k.... and that is what you need to be aware of. Netflix does not stream in 4k in browser (need windows and Edge browser) Most 4k content probably doesn't exist outside of youtube and maybe videos you have downloaded so if you are planning on binge watching, which it will still look amazing, it just won't be in 4k. Not a fault of the chromebook. Side note - Stadia is amazing on it I personally was going to use it for shadow PC but the android app is horrible with an intel processor (as it was written for ARM based systems) so it just isn't usable. I can install linux but defeats the purpose of just launching an app and using virtual desks to navigate between the apps. Overall the faults that are mentioned are workable if you aren't someone that is going to nit pick details like that but if you are into media consumption and really want 4k this wont be for you.

Where do I begin. This thing is thin, like, really thin. After using it for a month I am kind of disappointed in Google and Samsung. Chrome os is an operating system that doesn't know what it wants to be. Android apps are buggy, slow and the android system uses precious RAM and cpu cycles even when not in use. Disabling play store fixes this issue but limits functionality. Setting up Linux was easy and my Linux apps run at nearly full speed. This thing gets HOT. This model has the quad core i5 with no fan. This means not only can you not use the i5 to it's full potential, when you get close to it's limits it will be well over 85 Celsius. The battery life... Bone stock on stable channel with play store enabled playing back one 1080p YouTube video I'm getting about 4-4.5 hours which is acceptable if you're used to windows laptops, but for a Chromebook it's really bad. The screen was the real selling point to me at 13.3 inches and 4k resolution. It also has HDR but it is very poorly implemented in chrome os. After disabling HDR on chrome flags it becomes way brighter and has infinitely better contrast. I bought mine open box and for the reduced price I'd say go for it. Assuming your needs are met with chrome os and Linux. At open box prices it beats every budget windows laptop out there for entertainment. Oh and the speakers are pretty good too. Hope this helps.

I just bought this laptop and I am LOVING IT. It's sleek, fast and was very easy to setup. The only difficult part was downloading Microsoft Word, Excel because I think it get downloaded like it's a phone (?) by downloading apps. I didn't realize there is a finger scanner for security so that was a nice bonus! I have started using the pen for homework and it's working smoothly. Glad I was finally able to get this laptop!

Absolutely beautiful design, reminiscent of Google's original Chromebook. Frustratingly flawed from first day: Mouse pointer would start randomly jumping around with the only fix of restarting. If any minimal traces of anything are on the screen, the mousepad would stop working (note- it's a touchscreen. you can't use the touch otherwise trackpad stops working!?). Battery life is poor with the OLED screen, sadly. And finally, 6 months in, the screen cracked out of nowhere. No drops, no shocks, just opened the computer this morning and lo and behold, the screen is cracked. Must have been under tension.

Awesome chromebook, so thin yet so powerful. Watching my movies in 4k is amazing in this screen, the sound isn't the best but its a given seeing how thin and light this chromebook really is. Amazing product I would probably just ask them to give them better speakers I belive samsung has AKG which would have been nice here. But other than that amazing chromebook, one of the best.

I want to like this chromebook, which I purchased for virtual school, and my kid loves it. Despite the terrible battery life, which many other reviewers comment on, the display is fantastic. However, this thing has a huge problem... It continuously has an error where you have to reinstall ChromeOS and set everything up again. Sometimes you just get one bad apple, but I'm on #2. The first one was crashing daily, which Samsung customer support said was a hardware issue that would have to be sent in for service. The second one worked fine for about 2 months, but now ChromeOS is missing again, and recovery does not even work anymore ("unknown" errors). It literally won't let you reinstall it, so now I have a nice fiesta red brick for which we'll have to see if Samsung honors their warranty, but will now not have a working chromebook for virtual school for however long that takes. In contrast, We have an older basic Lenovo Chromebook and a Google Pixelbook, and neither have had even the slightest hiccup by comparison. Two duds in a row here is unacceptable, and seems to reflect poor design or quality control at Samsung.

Awesome computer. I own several Samsung Electronics products. I have never had an issue. Everything works proper. Computer runs so smooth and seamless. The graphics are amazing. I like the feature of when the battery runs low and it's ready for a charge the screen dims. It gives you time time to plug it in and you can still use the laptop. The styling and color of the case is outstanding. I thought it would be to orange by looking at it online but its is very sleek and color is like a pale burgundy. I usually go for black but I changed up a notch from the norm. You'll turn heads or at least everyone will be interested in knowing about your laptop. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Thanks Bestbuy.

Best Chromebook I have ever used. The only problem is the battery life. And it does have poor battery life. But it charges up quickly, and it does everything else so well that I don't even care. While the Pixelbook Go has a better keyboard, this machine has a U chip, not an i chip, so that you can do more advanced Linux work with this machine. Samsung almost made the perfect Chromebook. Why they didn't make it a little thicker, add a bigger battery, and a couple more ports, I'll never understand. But you'll love it...if you stay close to a charging port.

This computer is a work of art. I bought the red model and It's super light, snappy, fast and has a gorgeous 4K screen. However, the super short battery life will have you running for your charger in no time. I clocked in about 4 hours with a full battery. That's actually less than my 9 year-old Hp monster Windows laptop and nowhere near what Samsung claims it to have on web site! For a $1000 Chromebook that is horrible! You would expect at least the same or close to what other Chromebooks worth $200 can give (About 10 hours+). What good is a 4K screen if in order to make the battery life last you have to always keep it at 40-50% brightness or connected to the wall? Shame on Samsung for the horrible battery life on this otherwise beautiful laptop. If you can live with horrible battery life, then this is a great machine to own. Returning it on the second day and buying something else.
