Incredible Screen and Overall Quality

I have owned the chromebook for about a week now, and ended up getting it through bestbuy as an open-box, got it at a very good price of 399$, and had discover 5% cashback to take care of taxes.
I had previously never owned a chromebook, and was more in the market for a tablet with a good screen (like the s6 tab or s7 tab) I stumbled on one of these in stock in my area for the extremely discounted price and took a chance on it. You can feel the quality in the build, but the main reason you are getting it is for the 4k oled screen. Video quality is unreal, and people I show this to instantly tell me how good the picture is.
I like the keyboard layout, and the touchpad works as intended, the keys are spaced out naturally and have no issue typing. The aluminum material used to make the shell of this feels high quality as well. The screen does wobble some, but that is a light flaw in the grand scheme of things.
One other note is people say batter-capacity is an issue. I usually leave mine plugged in, and if I need to go anywhere, I have 4 power packs fully charged, so there is zero circumstances where I will be without power. It's a trade off with an i-5 processor and the oled screen it has to power. I'll take this trade off any day of the week.
Would I pay full price, 1 grand for this. NO. Even on sale at 799$, that seems steep considering this isn't a full laptop. But if you snag one for under 600, I say go for it as long as you are aware of the limitations of the chromebook vs. your standard laptop with dedicated gpu/stronger hardware. It took some adjusting to have chrome os, but my intended use was for general browsing/shopping/reading anyways on this. Who games on laptops anyways when you can have a solid desktop anyways?

This was a great purchase for me. I wasn't really a chromebook person, but now I am! No learning curve with this product. There are only two things I did not like. The first is the battery life is horrible! I literally only received three hours of use on a full charged battery. (That's with out being corded and the screen on half brightness)! The second reason is the accompanied s-pen has no functionality with the chromebook. You can write with the pen, make selections and maybe color on certain programs and apps. The design of this chromebook is very top notch. Very sturdy in laptop mode and tablet mood. The hinges are excellent! The screen is beautiful and bright. Even with minor takeaways, this is a great chromebook.

I only had this Chromebook for a few days before I decided to return it. What drew to it was the crazy fast performance and gorgeous screen, I also loved that it came with an S pen that stores away similar to a Samsung Note. However, despite all that I couldn't get over the terrible battery life on this thing, I mean I couldn't let it sit for more than a day with out it being critically low in batter when you finally opened it. I'm used to just picking up my Chromebook and going without having to deal with battery issues especially when I only use them on the weekends to do work at Starbucks. The thought of doing that with this device terrified me and if need to carry a charge with me everywhere I go I might as well get a full fledged laptop instead. In the the battery was not justified by the price even if all the other hardware pieces were, battery is crucial when dealing with portable devices.

This Chromebook is an amazing device. HOWEVER. As seen in many reviews, for a Chrome device, this has poor battery performance. Its understandable because of the demand from the powerful CPU and screen. So, if you plan to be plugged in often, no worries.
My biggest complaint is the trackpad. I've been using the device for 9 months and now the trackpad randomly stops functioning. Samsung is aware and the 'fixes' are more like how to deal with the symptoms. Very unsatisfying.

These laptops are decent. They are good and easy to type on, good on storage and are fast. One downside is that they do overheat and get very very hot... the screen is also kind of small. I am a college student and want a larger screen. Battery life isn't infinite but it works for me. It is a chromebook so it doesn't have some laptop features beware of that.

This device is by far the best laptop I have every owned! Chrome OS are great for people who know the limitations and advantages of Chrome OS. This has some of the best build quality I have every seen in a laptop period. There are some cons with the battery but I knew that going in and definitely work around that by keeping the screen dimmed and having a USB C power bank. BTW, the screen is amazing and one my favorite aspects of the device.

This Chromebook is great. It's super light, I love the fact that I can flip it and use it as a tablet. The only thing negative, which others have complained about, is the battery life but in all honesty, it really hasn't bothered me too much. I usually set the screen brightness to medium and it lasts for hours. When i need to i just plug it in and keep working so it's really not a huge inconvenience.

Cons - Battery Life
Pros - Most everything else
This is my 5th "daily driver" chromebook, and my 3rd Samsung chromebook. I finally put my beloved Samsung Chromebook Plus (gen 1) out to pasture to be replaces with this. It ticked all the boxes for me, and the price-point is finally where I need it to be. Here is a quick rundown of the great elements; Screen, Keyboard, Trackpad, Garaged Pen, Fold Flat/Convertible, Speed/Components, Build Quality/Materials, The good elements; Ports, Weight, Design Aspects, Sound (Side Firing Speakers), Ruggedness. Now for the bad (and there is really only one thing); Battery life. If you are a road warrior, understand you will need to hit an outlet at some point during the day. This is not a 10-11 hour device, you will not be all-day on a single charge. Using the supplied charger (65w?) will yield a very speedy charge, but you will need to be near an outlet for 20-30 minutes to get thru a typical workday. While you can do things to extend the life, many of them feel like you are reducing the best qualities (screen, speed, etc,) of the unit.
If you can live with the Achilles heel of the battery, you will be more than happy with this system.

I read in a previous review that this was the Lexus of chromebooks and it was absolutely on point. The battery life was already talked about and I was ready for it being minimal, but the ONLY downside is as a crafter, most of the websites or apps I use to craft do not work with this Chromebook. They do have the tablet versions but it is nowhere near the same convenience wise or quality as using my phone or a computer. Sadly I did have to return mine due to financially needing the money more than the computer but 10/10 will buy again. I loved every second of it. Absolutely beautiful and feels like it’s built solid. The rotation of the screen didn’t feel like it would break when I flipped it from one angle to the next. The pen was on direct point as soon as I pulled it out.

If you must have the best ChromeOS laptop

If you are someone who must use the best device out there then look no further. This is the best ChromeOS device and I would say the best laptop I have ever used. And I have used Surface, Macbook and pixelbook before this.
Negatives first. Minor annoyance the laptop gets a bit hot from time to time when you exert the processor. It's noticeable but not that bad. Major annoyance for some might be the Battery life. If you don't have a power cord nearby then dial the brightness down to below 50% if you want the laptop to last a decent amount of time.
If you can live with the two negatives above then everything else about this laptop has been knocked out of the park. The build quality is superb and extremely thin. The red color especially is very striking. The Amoled screen has no equal; it's that good. Keyboard and trackpad are fantastic. And that stow-able stylus is genius... easy to pull it out during a meeting and write quick notes. Speakers are pretty decent for this thin a laptop. I love how the laptop feels in tablet mode... it is so thin and light that it does not feel like any other convertible out there. Also chromeOS is great. Between Web, Android and Linux apps there is nothing I cannot do with this device and it boots in seconds. The OS updates in minutes. I went from version 80 to 87 in 2-3 minutes when I first booted the machine.

Best looking computer I have ever owned. You will notice the battery -- the one benefit is it gets you up from wherever you are to charge up. Screen is beautiful. So thin...very nice. The stencil is more handy than I thought. It is a bit buggy with Chrome...which is partially Chromes fault but these issues wont happen with Pixel book though. Overall ill keep it but I have to reset some of my expectations for what I paid for.

The battery issue is not a big one, or not as big as it is blown up to be by the gadget and tech reviewers out there. The solution is simple, bring a more powerful battery supply with you or the charging cable and plug in it every few hours or so to top off the battery. Nobody uses a chromebook unplugged for 10 hours straight, let alone even 5-6 hours in a session.
And if you do work on a chromebook for that long extended period of time, you are probably at the office or at home, where a wall plug is probably near you at all times. Bottom line the battery is not a factor to me at least and it does not drive away from how powerful, beautiful and effective of a workhouse this device is to me.
Hands down the most vibrant screen I have even seen on a portable device, so that includes iPad Pros, Surface Pros, MacBooks, you name it... Having these internals may be a bit overkill for a cloud based platform but you are also future proofing yourself for the next 8 years that this device will be supported by Google.
The pen is useful, I bust it out every once in a while to use as a more precise pointing device. It is insanely thin and well built. The red color looks absolutely stunning, it is just a joy of a device for the eyes to feast on.

Purchased this to replace my surface pro. I had that for several years and it was time to get something newer. I only needed something for casual use, nothing too fancy. I appreciate this device more because of the android features and being able to add apps from the app store. It's really thin, light weight and my favorite color red. The battery life could be better but it's not terrible. Only real compliants are no fan, no keyboard light and I received free anti virus but it's not compatible with this device.

A lot of reviewers are hung up on the relatively short battery life. I did not find this to be an issue. The battery is more than sufficient for my purposes. The laptop is fast and smooth and the image quality is fantastic. I am beyond impressed by the thinness and build quality. This is an impressive laptop.

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook has worked very well for what I use for it. Movies and games look amazing with the 4K screen. Two complaints that I do have; one, obviously the price is high, and it gets pretty warm when really stretching its legs with a lot chrome tabs open along with watching videos, at the same time. It does not have a fan, I plan on buying a laptop fan to use when I'm working on the chromebook all day.
The build quality and looks of it is excellent. The keyboard feels and sounds high quality when typing.

This Chromebook is sleek and fast. It's downfall is battery life -- probably the worst I've encountered. If you don't mind being constantly plugged in, it's a great machine. But, if you need more than 4 hours on a single charge, you'll be in for a huge disappointment.

I’ve had this for a couple weeks now and really enjoy it. It has the simplicity of a Chromebook for day-to-day tasks but when you need more power, you can take advantage of Linux. Google’s built in Linux support (Crostini) isn’t perfect but it’s pretty good and super easy. It’s possible to get more full-featured Linux using developer mode but I haven’t tried that yet.
Access to the Android App Store is great but many apps are intended for mobile. I’m sure that will change over time as Chromebooks become more popular. In the interim, I can install most desktop apps I want via Linux.
Two downsides are battery life and heat. I don’t need all day battery life for my purposes so the 4-5 hour battery life on this device doesn’t bother me but it will be an issue for others. The laptop also gets a little bit warm (not hot) since it relies on passive cooling. Again, not a big problem for me but it might be annoying for others.
