Amazing Chromebook with possibly the prettiest display Chromebooks have had and will have for quite some time until Chrome OS becomes a real operating system worthy of more than just casual use. This device is unable to live up to its full potential for a variety of reasons primarily having to do with the artificial limitations placed on Chrome OS and Android apps as a whole. Unlike Android installing third party Android apps requires you to go into developer mode or use an incredibly tedious Linux developer work around the developer mode which is more convenient restricts your access to most common apps including streaming ones. On top of that even when you have access to all the apps that should be available to this device none of the streaming services allow this device amongst many other actual Android devices to stream more than in full HD rendering the biggest use case for this beautiful device completely irrelevant unless you want to watch very pretty YouTube videos or to attempt to try to struggle streaming from your Plex server. Additionally there is a sort of grainy quality to the image if you get not even that close to the screen. It appears that there is some sort of gaps between the pixels which some people might notice but is readily apparent to me at any close distance. The onboard pen is nice but a fair number of the apps struggle to take advantage of it as a lot of drawing apps are not optimized for an X86 processor though this does seem to be getting better. I purchased this device for $200 and it is certainly worth more than the price I paid for it. However as nice as this device is it is limited by Chrome OS. Honestly if this device could run Android and if Android had better X86 compatibility this would be a no brainer. However Chrome OS is still trying to grow beyond its primarily browser based origins by bolting on some of android's biggest selling points but it's frequently hindered by its ability to go all the way. If you can get this at a bargain and you like Chrome OS this device is great. However it did release some time ago and there are better Chromebooks on the market right now. The only thing this does bett additionally the battery could be better. And I wish some of the play store apps had better compatibility with Chromebook. For instance super display does not work with USB due to some strange limitation.

Easy transition from PC to Chromebook

My Windows laptop screen failed, while it was in for repair, I needed a replacement laptop that would allow me to keep up with my daily work activities and the Samsung Chromebook had the local storage, and memory. I was surprised how seamless the transition was from my Windows laptop to the Chromebook. All my managed passwords transitioned, email, and contact list was immediately available. I am still adjusting to the capability gaps, like playing certain video extensions and transferring photos taken with my iPad to Google Photos. Overall, I would recommend this product.

The speakers on this device are not great, but if you're struggling with loudness, there's a Chrome add-on you can install named Ears. It will help with any content that isn't loud enough. Screen quality on this is excellent and the 2-in-1 feature makes this a dream to use for both work and media consumption.

I bought this chromebook for my child to do homework and watch YouTube. It is fast and has great graphics. It is 4k so watching movies and YouTube are good. The battery life is very poor. It doesn't last, especially if you are watching YouTube or movies. It is easy to use. It is definitely not worth $1000. It should be like $300.

My fault for not really knowing what a Chromebook was. Its a good product, does what I need, but feels like I am just on a giant android tablet.

I also have the v1 of this model. I like most v1 owners have had severe trackpad and random shutdown issues. Luckily, fixes are available. This is a v2 model and sis running with no issues at all. Excellent Chromebook!

No USB ports. Cannot download zoom. Pen doesn’t do enough. 4K isn’t at its full potential. But it’s a Samsung and thin. Great computer.

I bought this computer to help me with School. After an hour of use it glitched and didn't turn on. I left it over night in hope that it would turn on the next morning. It did not. I tried resetting it and nothing worked. I ended up unplugging my computer and letting it die. It worked perfectly fine after but did have a few complications later on. Randomly a white screen popped saying that Chrome OS is missing or damaged. Its popped up more than 3 times and I've been meaning to go to Best Buy to get it repaired or replaced but haven't found the time.

I have bought an openbox item classified as satisfactory. Despite the directions the chromebook is absolutely perfect and complete of accessories like stylus and charger. This is my forth chromebook and it is the best. I used to do everything with chromebooks and chrome web browser using google drive for documents, doing this it doesn't matter which device are you using. This is my preferred because is thin, lightweigth, with huge memory and a powerful processor. The handwriting recognition is pretty perfect. What else...the battery has a long but not enormous life, i work unplugged for 6 to 8hrs a day with no video playing or video calls. If you have to make video meeting consider more or less 4hrs.

Love the screen and functions on this machine. Hands down, the 4K is magnificent! Unfortunately, it crashed two days after minimal use. It got super hot overnight, wouldn't turn on first thing in the morning, had to "re-boot" the machine, worked for an hour and then got an error message. Best Buy is wonderful place to purchase. Customer Service said to bring it back for a full refund, replace with something else, or a new same machine. Now need to start this decision all over again. Very frustrating. Is this a sign, or do I trust the name and get the same machine again?
