I purchase this phone because my new iPhone 11 pro max don't work with Tmobile on Puerto Rico no internet no receive calls that's is the reason I purchase Samsung Galaxy A50. When I have the opportunity to choose again Samsung is the new cell phone. I recommend this Samsung Galaxy A50 Battery all day and night 8 hours of work and still 60% or more. The Netflix looks pretty good and outside with the sun I can see clearly everything. The camera resolution omg excellent. My new iPhone11 pro max now looks like a old cellphone. I can't believe it this phone have the best technology I was apple fan but not anymore. The reception of the signal now I have more bars than the iPhone and said LTE+ EVERYTHING IS SUPER MEGA BETTER NOW USING TMOBILE. I RECOMMEND THIS PHONE

Boy oh boy, entry model phones have come a long way. My LG G6, which is not a bad phone by any means, was getting a little beat up and I started looking for a minor upgrade I could replace it with. Along comes the A50. I was skeptical due to my previous experiences with the "J" series entry Samsung phones and previously would suggest that for the money there were better options out there like some ZTE model's, some more middle spec LGs, or even a gen or 2 old flagship like a Samsung s7 or a LG G5.
The a50 is an entire different ball game. Samsung is crushing the market with these guys. 8 core cpu, massive 64 gig internal memory, huge battery, genius idea with a plastic back and not a glass back (ive replaced TONS of Samsung back glasses and this is a godsend from them), 25 mp FRONT camera, amoled screen, knotch design, decent camera software features including slow mo and super slo mo, (kind of) quick charge, and a type c port to boot. What more you could possibly want out of $350 (bought this weekend on sale unlocked for $275) is beyond me.
I did switch out the stock Samsung launcher for Evie, just to try and clamp down on any software bottlenecks and just for ease/simplicity. Phone operates very fast but not as fast as a brand new flagship device (not much of a complaint there).
Only complaints I can really think of is it doesnt charge as fast as some of the newer quick charge devices and maybe the overall PDI could be a bit higher, but thats nitpicking to the highest degree.
Samsung reclaims the throne of the budget phone market with this one IMO. Maybe youd value an S8 or a G7 thin q over this, but having a non curved premium-ish Samsung is a brilliant idea (curve screen is cool, but youre talking $250+ at bare minimum for a lcd replacement thats nowhere near OEM quality).
Ive repaired thousands of phones/tablets and from what Ive seen, this is some real concrete value out of the A50. Time will tell how well it ages, but right now its looking like ill be keeping this one for a good chunk of time.
5/5. Great job, Samsung. This is the type of engineering that made them an Android powerhouse to begin with, and its a great return to form from them.

Do you need a new phone? May I please suggest that Samsung Galaxy A50? It is an ideal phone with lots of storage. Just for the record, this awesome phone is both a reliable and durable investment. I highly recommend it for those who use their phone on a daily basis for work or pleasure. The photographs are fantastic and it never has let me down. The conversations are clear and crisp. I no longer have the static or noise like before. Finally, I no longer worry about being disconnected.

That being said.. I did not buy this phone for its camera and can't comment on it. I bought this phone primarily to entertain my kids during this time that there's no school, and we aren't leaving home much at all due to the pandemic. I have Samsung TVs and like to stream content and can keep my children occupied with movies other than the dvds they have been repeating. However, there was a secondary reason.. and that was to try out some of my games on it. I have one particular game that can cause heating even in my Samsung Galaxy note 10+.. so extremely impressed that the A50 handled the game without really heating up at all and that's playing for over an hour! So even though spec wise the note 10+ should outperform.. in that one case.. it didn't. So if you're looking for a great budget phone that can handle lots of games and streaming.. this is it!!

I’ve only had this phone for a day and I’m loving it. I bought it to see if I would really like it over my iPhone XS Max and I have to say wooow. Apple is trash that is overpriced. Samsung is absolutely destroying them 100%. Only payed $350 for this a50 mid level Samsung phone, literally love this thing.

I love my phone. I feel the Sansung phones are the best by far. I have had many different cell phone of the years. This is the second Samsung I have had. I upgraded to this phone It is not to big. I
didn't need all the fancy stuff or apps on my phone. So my choice was this phone. I had a small issue, the Samsung techs were awesome. knowledgeable and helpful to resolve my issue. Great picture and features I need on a phone.

It's been a great phone these past 7 months, everything a $300 phone would do. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars was it slid out my pocket while working in my garage probably 5" off the ground made made a single crack from the top to the bottom of the phone.

I purchased my A50 the first day it was unlocked. My old phone was an S6, which I absolutely loved! There is are 3 ways to do selfies on the camera screen that trying to touch the screen to focus sends it in selfie mode, hence my heading. The pictures on the camera come out as if they are pieced together by colored paper. Don't even try taking a fast picture because it takes a few seconds to focus. I cant even read the words from a picture of a book page. Most of my calls drop. And trying to answer a call is always a challenge. And this is my second phone in this model! The first phone had options like Smart Lock just disappear. What were they thinking when they made this phone? It's like they threw a lot of stuff on the camera without tweaking it. Looks good on paper but the functionality is awful!

Just what I was looking for:
Long battery life... Good But wait, that's not all, it has a great large format FLAT screen (the Edge just doesn't appeal to me). With its tiny bezel and screen layout, the phone protected by a Speck case is only 1/2 inch taller than my S7 which is protected by an Otterbox Symmetry case. No wasted screen space. And, size matters when trying to fit the phone in a pocket.
Very solid phone with plenty of speed and processing power. This is quite an upgrade from my Samsung S7 which I had no intention of retiring. But, at the Pre Black Friday price and the activation discount, it made a lot of sense to me. With 5G just around the corner, I wanted something to carry me over.
I agree that the fingerprint reader is not always reliable, but I've never really had a great experience with fingerprint readers on any Samsung or Apple devices. The facial recognition works ok, so it just has not been a big deal.
True, the phone is not rated as water-resistant, but consider that normal care goes a long way to making sure the phone is not damaged. Even so, at this price, you can repair or replace without a lot of expense.
Wireless charging would be a nice feature to have, but in reality, I rarely used it with my Galaxy S7, so it is not that big of an inconvenience.
HD Voice does not seem to work on this phone, though it is supposed to. This was important because ATT Call Protect app requires it. However, now that the telemarketers seem to be at bay, I have not needed the retaliatory strike capability.
Fast easy setup! I quickly restored all my data and apps from Samsung Cloud directly to the phone. Most importantly it was easy to transfer both my Sim Card and 32 GB memory chip.
Protection - Best Buy had an inexpensive but reliable Speck case right there so I purchased in on the spot. Finding a reliable and inexpensive screen protector has not been so easy. But, overall, with the older Gorilla Glass screen, I'm very pleased.
The camera is far better than any phone camera I've ever used before! It includes 9 photo and video modes. That said, I am not a professional, but I am impressed with the phone's ability to take very good macro shots and night shots. I don't post to social media so if that is important to you, perhaps there are better options for you.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and have recommended it to all of my Android using friends.

I have been an C-series owner for some time. I wanted to upgrade and had an S9 in my cart. I went to the store and the associate let me compare the S9 and the A50. I found nothing lacking in the A50 and it saved me $100.00. I am getting to know my new A50. It is fast as lighting. It has great capacity and a high Android level. The speaker is louder and it is larger. So far I love it.

ii bought this cellphone on March 9 at best buy and I used it right away after the set up was been done. It's powered by a 4000 mAho battery that could last for a day and a half. It has a 64 gig of memory and it's expandable up to 512 gig via micro SD card. It has a large screen form edge to edge so viewing is like a cinema. It has a triple camera so you can have different choices from live focus, ultra wide and self portrait

A good sized phone for all your necessities like work and emails as well as good for personal use or for entertainment like taking pictures and recording videos or watching Netflix and YouTube. The camera is about 25 megapixels, which is pretty top notch. The internal memory is 64gb. The battery time is satisfactory, not good nor bad. It is loaded with the latest android OS. Touch is good too. Overall, a phone with pretty much latest features and electronics.
The only issue is with the fingerprint reader. It is not so good at detecting and reading fingerprints. Not only is it difficult to save fingerprints, but also unlocking phones and apps by fingerprint can be a headache. Sometimes you have to try multiple times just to unlock screen.

I personally love Samsung, and have only owned Samsung phones. This is a great phone, runs good, cameras are good /many options, screen size is great, good amount of space, battery life is good too. My only complaint/disappointment is that this phone DOES NOT have a VIDEO CALL option on the actual dial pad!! You have to use an app for video calling, like, WhatsApp, messenger, duo...etc, which I dont like! Besides this, phone works great. I hope they consider adding the video call option in the near future update, PLEEEASE.

Good phone quality. Sleek design. Durable without case. Camera is great. Operating system is good. There is a few things that need to be worked out in updates though, like videos not playing on certain apps, Bluetooth dropping, bad connection on calls through Bluetooth, ect. Security has 3 out 4 things that the S & Note series have. With a security subscription, staying off questionable websites & public wifi, you should be ok. The unlocked phone still comes loaded with certain apps you might have to disable or uninstall. Storage is good at 64gb. Might wanna stop certain apps from running in the background though, it will run internet slow/freeze up with unused apps collecting data/running updates checks. Overall a better than expected phone. I have had plenty of people ask me about it. The pearl like back, catches people's eyes.

The A50 is a solid phone that is very comparable to the Galaxy S line. It cheaper but with all the tech in it such as in display fingerprint sensor, good cameras, great battery life, infinity display and a slim design. One UI2 is done very nicely also. Samsung has done better each year on the software front and their hardware in this mid ranger is nice for the price. It does has Micro SD card support for expandable storage. Overall, you can’t go wrong with this phone especially if you wanna save money not buying a expensive flagship phone.

I first upgraded my mom to this phone and was doing her so well i decided to upgrade mine , and have not been disappointing, especially with its price point ! I do not like to drop 999.99 for a cell phone when we all know it not really cost effective, especially when you have teens that need phones as well. Great camera quality and apps run smoothly. Games run very nicely as well , games like cod mobile and Hearthstone. Storage is decent and upgrade-able , which i did . Over all purchased 5 of these devices and happy i did .

I've been using this for 5 and a half months and it's still going strong. The battery lasts a few days before needing to be recharged for me and I'm not a heavy phone user. The image is crisper and more vibrant than my old Samsung which claimed 4k resolution rather than this one's 1080p so I was happy to see that. The sound for music is just ok, I wouldn't want to host a party with it. It's very responsive compared to my old phone which was at least 4 years old when I had purchased this one. Everything is faster: apps/internet. The Camera is a great improvement as well, the Low Light images are great in a slightly dark room it will look like Daytime, whereas my old phone a slightly dark room meant washed out colors/pixelation if not utter blackness. So I'm very happy with this phone and will probably use it another 5 years, that is unless 5G becomes the norm and that somehow lowers internet/phone service prices then maybe I'll need to upgrade :p

First, let me say that Best Buy made the experience excellent. I purchased unlocked for $224. Amazing phone for the price. And with Samsung was almost idiot-proof to set up and transfer data. Great camera, battery lasts me all day long and still at 70% when I go to bed, no lagging(others said it did?). I've used duo and zoom to video chat, All my apps work perfectly. Had a couple of weeks and no complaints so far. highly recommend.
