I’ve always used a Mac so maybe I just need to get the hang of this. Also, battery runs out quicker and I need to keep it plugged in.

It's normal for the fan to get louder if the PC is working hard and should quiet down when the task is complete. Gaming and video rendering are notorious for pushing a computer. If the fan is running hard during normal use, there's a few things that can be done. Please take a look at, "Samsung PC cooling fan noise" to help resolve what you may be experiencing with your PC.
