The WIFI network was disabled. It took me awhile to find out how to turn it on. Now I have to install multiple software including ESET, GVIM, Google Earth & Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, LibreOffice, etc. I bought this Windows 11 laptop because of the price savings, $799.99!

Pretty bad battery life lasting around 5 hours. Very difficult to install other app and software driver coz I needed to install multiple times and I couldn't even install some of them still. CoPilot and Windows update really disappointed me. After Windows update, the laptop freezed and slowing down. Snapdragron or Windows, I don't know whose fault it is. Comparatively Lenovo Yoga Copilot Laptop is better in my opinion. Rather than that its a beauty and stunning look and build up quality. Without good discount, I would not recommend buying Boo4 Edge Copilot PC. Sorry I may have to return due to performance issues.

Right out of the box you will immediately see and feel how thin and lightweight this Samsung - Galaxy Book4 Edge is. Right at 3 pounds and super slim, you will be able to take this anywhere. The color( Sapphire blue) is a nice upgrade from the plain metallic silver look of most laptops. I also love the sturyness of the screen when opening. One finger lift to open and no screen wobble.On the side you will find 2 USB 4.0 ports,1 HDMI port, 1USB 3.2, and a micro SD port. Next the screen... The 16" OLED touchscreen is amazing. The 3K Amoled screen produces vivid bright colors and deep blacks. With a 120HZ adaptive refresh rate, transitions are seamless whether watching a movie,video editing or light gaming. Even while using on my patio, the screen seemed to change as the outside brightness changed. It is very glare resistant even when the screen is facing the sun. The trackpad is giant which sounds like a good thing except that it makes the keypad further away from the bottom.You have to rest your your hands past your wrists on the side pads to get in a good typing position. I will take that inconvenience in exchange for the 10 key. I love to use a 10 key and am so happy this Samsung - Galaxy Book4 Edge comes with one. The performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Processor is unmatched. It has plenty of power for the everyday duties of a laptop along with brute strength to power the most demanding AI applications like Copilot+ where you can create and edit images, Live translate and use Windows Studio Effects. The NPU handles all these tasks efficiently which helps keep the unit cooler and has very little noise if the fans do kick on. You will be able to get 10+ hours of battery life on a full charge. Thats should satisfy you work, viewing, and browsing project in between charges. I take my Samsung - Galaxy Book4 Edge everywhere.

Juat bought this for school used once to try when i bought for school. Tried again to use because was about to start wont turn on, even when plugged in tried all ghe troubleshooting was lucky i was still able to return this. Would only recommend this to people i dislike

Worst Product Ever (even with he positives) 1. This Samsung laptop constantly freezes. Unlike my old HP or even a cheap Lenovo, if I leave this computer idle and return later, I often cannot log back in. I have to close the laptop and wait a minute or more before it responds and lets me enter my passcode. Sometimes even that doesn’t work, and I’m forced to do a hard shutdown. 2. Photoshop’s “Export to Web” interface is completely incompatible. When I try to save images with specific requirements, the export window shows icons so tiny they’re unreadable, and they cannot be resized. This is not a resolution issue—it’s a software compatibility problem. 3. I took the laptop to Best Buy’s Geek Squad (I purchased their top-tier warranty). They performed a tune-up but failed to fix either of the issues. 4. The Geek Squad staff told me the problems were likely due to a configuration bug between Photoshop and Windows that only the manufacturer could resolve. 5. I bought this expensive laptop in October 2024, so the one-year mark has already passed. Based on my warranty, Best Buy advised me to send the laptop directly to Samsung, which I now plan to do. 6. I upgraded from my old HP and debated between Samsung and Apple. I chose Samsung, thinking it would be worth it. It wasn’t.

It started giving me problems after a few weeks. There were glitches in shortcuts I use all the time that appeared. I tried resetting and then did a fresh install. It did not resolve the issue. Also I would click on links and nothing would happen. I traded it in on an GB5 Pro 360 w/ intel 7....So far so good.

The Galaxy Book4 Edge by Samsung is thin and lightweight with incredible processing power. It combines Copilot+ with Snapdragon, resulting in fast results that exceed the performance of standard laptops while providing a synchronized workflow for Samsung users. Construction This laptop is ultra-thin and yet remarkably sturdy. It is also very light-weight with a simple, highly portable USB-C to USB-C charger along with a charging block. The keyboard is quiet, wide, and comfortable, and the included number pad is a plus for me. I am used to a number pad due to work and prefer it over the numbers at the top of the letter keys. I do wish they had made the keys slightly bigger and the touchpad slightly smaller. At 6” x 4.5”, the touch pad is great for getting around the screen without lifting a finger, but it is also too big that I inadvertently touch it with the palm of my hand while typing and end up in a different part of the screen. Display The display is beautiful. It is an AMOLED 16” touch screen with 2800 x 1800 resolution. The colors are vibrant and crisp, while the blacks are true and deep. The combination of the high resolution and large screen make it perfect for watching movies and for creative projects. Performance The performance is amazing thanks to the Snapdragon X Elite Processor along with the 12-core and 3.4Ghz. Even with the 16GB RAM, I am able to run Photoshop alongside other programs, and it works faster than my other higher RAM PC to load up and to apply changes. I would probably refrain from pushing it beyond just one major program though. I ran both CapCut and Photoshop concurrently and it was close to reaching full capacity. Still, I am seriously impressed with the speed and efficiency at which it works even when both programs were running. Heat and Fans The laptop runs surprisingly cool compared to others I own. I have no issue placing it on my lap for extended periods. Also, the fans are extremely quiet. I can hardly hear them at all, even while multitasking or running taxing programs, and yet the laptop remains cool. Compatible with Samsung phones The laptop comes preloaded with several Samsung apps that provide a synchronized environment for Samsung phone users. I was not able to test these features because I am an iPhone user, but I was able to use Quick Share, which allowed me to set-up an account so that I can share data to any device via QR code. This way I can easily transfer material from my PC to my phone. It worked great, the QR code opens up a browser link that allows you to download the transmitted material. Camera and Audio. The camera resolution is great. It provides a really good picture and captures images vividly and accurately. The audio is equipped with Dobly Atmos. It puts out a clean, crisp sound with no distortion at high volumes. Battery life According to specs, this laptop has up to 18 hours of battery life. So far, I have not gone that long without needing a charge. I can go about a day of constant use before I put it to charge, around 8 hours. That said, there are times when the battery does not seem to go down at all and stays at the same percentage for hours. Even though it gives an estimate of 2 hours of charge left, 2 hours later, there are still 2 hours left. It is rather confounding in trying to assess and plan for how long I have until I need to move it near a wall to connect it. Copilot+ The Copilot+ feature is rather fun and interesting to use. The more I use it, the more comfortable I get with it and the more I find that it can do. Copilot+ can do anything from searching the web for just about anything, to giving information on topics, organizing your thoughts into an elegant paragraph, making jokes, and even creating photos, songs, and poems. One downside is it does not seem to work in Office programs without a separate paid license. It is stated that Copilot+ can work across the programs to create a seamless experience, streamline productivity, and lighten workload, but the option does not appear on the toolbar ribbon of Word, PowerPoint, or Excel. Perhaps there is something I am missing or that needs to be updated, but it is disappointing if I got a Copilot+ PC and still have to pay separately to use it in these programs. One of the features advertised with this laptop is a Recall feature. According to the Microsoft website, this feature is not yet available to all Copilot+ PCs until it is properly vetted first. It will eventually become available to us though. The AI live captions feature works great. I used it in two languages, and both caught what was being said accurately. I also used English captions on a Spanish video, and it translated correctly, with only a few mistakes caused by the nuances in meanings. Overall, I am impressed with the capabilities of this laptop. It provides a large screen, a powerful processor, and an AI program that makes tasks easier and quicker to complete, while bundled into a lightweight, sleek, and slim frame.

I feel like we have been here before to some extent. A little over a decade ago, we got a new ARM based version of Windows that launched to much fanfare. Some of the same things were said then that are being said now, compatible with most things, great battery life, still super quick, and more. That last iteration was totally obsolete and junk within 2 years. So admittedly I have some real trepidation about this next generation of Microsoft’s attempt at a very mobile focused device using a different processing architecture aimed at many of those same ideas as before. This time is a bit different in that there are partners like Samsung for the hardware, and of course the big fanfare is for the Copilot AI that for reasons I don’t understand will only work on the Snapdragon Elite X and not other processors that are in fact more powerful from a compute standpoint. I have been using this new Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge as my daily driver for a few days leading up to putting my thoughts down about it, and it is a beautiful machine. I love the slight blue to the finish, the metal chassis, the full keyboard and oversized multi-touch touchpad, and the gorgeous 16” AMOLED touchscreen. The 3K screen is extremely vibrant, accurate, and smooth with 120hz VRR and HDR support, it is truly fantastic. As a hardware package goes, it is exceptional except for one thing I am baffled by. On my older laptops I have become accustomed to using Windows Hello, which this computer also supports. However, I primarily prefer the facial recognition which this computer does not offer. It does have a very good fingerprint scanner in the power button to the top right corner of the keyboard, but the built in front facing camera is seemingly not good enough which I am unhappy and surprised about. The fingerprint scanner will suffice, and it reads my finger almost instantaneously but its just not what I was anticipating. Battery life is very good considering the size and lightweight form factor, keeping in mind that it will of course vary depending on what is being done. So far, for my mixed usage I have gotten what I would easily call a full day on a single charge. It does complain about being plugged in too long if you leave it on the charger for more than 24 hours and recommended I change the charge limit but then did not elaborate on where I should do that, so I was left on my own to figure it out. I am new to the AI revolution, as prior to having this computer I did not see a reason to mess with it. So, I spent some time interacting with Copilot, and am intrigued by it. It feels a little bizarre to interact with a computer in such a personable way, but you start getting used to it and I have found the ability to get information complete with sources and context enlightening. As you ask for things you don’t have to specify in follow up questions that you are still talking about the same subject for example, it figures that part out like a person would. It is fascinating. I would say that my interactions so far have changed my mind a lot about the idea, even though I still have reservations and will likely be careful what subjects I attempt to breach with it. Using Cocreator is interesting, and maybe I am bad at it or maybe Copilot is, but I could never get very close to what I wanted as I was trying to get artwork generated from it. Maybe I need more practice. Live Captions gives you real-time translations of things on the web, be it in text or video form, and provides you with a sort of subtitle for what is being said. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but I can see how it could be advantageous. Studio Effects are the thing I see the least use for as it is basically the same as what is already offered on my phone but without the convenience of being on my phone. It will take much more time for me to get accustomed to the idea of having a different type of resource available for getting work, research, and other things done, but I can see how some of these things could be part of the future. This laptop has a clear use-case in mind, for productivity on the go. If you are a gamer, look elsewhere as this is not the one. But for a creator, mobile worker, or designer, the long battery life, super thin and lightweight size, large, beautiful screen, and Copilot all make this a compelling option. I only hope that this time things are different, and this type of device is the future and not a speed bump along the way.

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge presents a modern, sleek laptop that shakes up the competition, but there are a few nitpicks that come with early adoption that should be noted. UNBOXING The Galaxy Book4 is quite impressive out of the box. It is large, yet razor-thin and feather-light. Despite its thinness, it feels sturdy, and there is minimal deck flex when typing. It looks premium and carries across the clean design language we see in Samsung’s Galaxy phone line, with a lovely pale blue. The charging brick is small and great for travel, but the included cable feels cheap. That said, recyclable packaging is a big win. DISPLAY, INPUTS, & SPEAKERS There are two USB 4.0 ports on the left as well as an HDMI port, and one USB-A port on the right along with a microSD reader, which is a good array that should cover most bases. Disappointingly, both USB 4.0 ports are on the left, which means that to charge the laptop you must charge it on the left side only — an odd limitation. The keyboard is decent but not standout, although three levels of backlighting is a nice touch. The trackpad leaves a lot to be desired - I had a fair few misclicks and swipes that weren’t registered properly, a problem I haven’t experienced on other laptops that feel so premium. On the upside, the AMOLED display is positively gorgeous, as expected of Samsung: vivid, rich colors and a bright display with 500 nits peak brightness make for an excellent viewing experience. I would describe the colors as possibly oversaturated rather than wholly color-accurate, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing in this case. Viewing content on this screen is fantastic, and using it as a touchscreen adds another layer of versatility. The webcam and microphone are middling. They’re both serviceable for Zoom meetings or the odd video call, and can be improved by the baked-in AI features. The most disappointing aspect of the webcam is its lack of support for Windows Hello. The speakers were unexpectedly good, though not good enough that you wouldn’t want to use headphones for the fullest experience. Though there is a lack of an IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition, the Galaxy Book4 does include a fingerprint reader on the power button that is quick to read. SPECS This is another low point for the GB4 Edge. While the display is a stunning 3k 2800x1800, the storage and RAM fall short of what I would have liked to see in a modern laptop. At just 512GB of eUFS storage — which I should note technically is slower than SSD, though I didn't notice any significant issues — it's at the of what is acceptable in a modern machine, and the inability to upgrade either the storage or the RAM makes it difficult to see this being futureproof, which is a shame as far as sustainability goes. SAMSUNG SOFTWARE It goes without saying that Samsung devices come with their assortment of software and their utility will vary based on the user. While I am normally the sort to uninstall any preloaded software, Quick Share and the ability to remote control my Samsung phone with the GB4 Edge is impressive and adds a sense of cohesion to the ecosystem that I haven’t seen outside of Apple. The downside is that these apps take up space (and memory) which are both limited. PERFORMANCE The GB4 Edge comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite NPU processor, the X1E-84-100, which has the highest clock speed of the newest X Elite configurations. Naturally, it performs like a dream while doing the sorts of tasks most users will be doing: browsing the web, watching videos, writing emails, doing conference calls, and so on. The performance is snappy and feels speedy. It’s also shockingly quiet and cool. This is not a gaming laptop by any stretch of the imagination, but I was able to install Steam and run some of my usual favorites such as Slime Rancher. Though SR popped on this screen, I did notice some frame drops. Speaking of, there were some hiccups when it came to installing my usual suite of daily software. While most of them installed fine (including Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Acrobat Reader, HP Smart, Microsoft Office, Discord, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, ShareX, Steam, BitWarden, Discord, and so on), there were just a couple that had issues. One was Ablaze Floorp, a Firefox fork. Another was Nanazip, which refused to install from the Microsoft Store and returned error code 0x87E107E2 each time. I tried again another day and was able to successfully install it, and using the offline installer for Floorp fixed my problem. I’m willing to give the GB4 Edge a pass here because software compatibility will very likely improve with time and the issues I had were relatively easily resolved. BATTERY LIFE The GB4 Edge brings impressive battery life. My first test saw just 9h23m of playing back 1080p Youtube footage over Wifi at 50% brightness; clearly a far cry from the 22 hours claimed by Samsung and frankly not that impressive. My second test saw 16h22m, taking just 3 hours to charge back to 100% from 0%. This is, again, still less than Samsung’s claim but much more notable. In daily use, it easily lasted a workday of web browsing, writing emails, watching videos, and listening to music. With slightly tempered expectations, the battery life is outstanding. NEW COPILOT+ FEATURES: COCREATOR Cocreator seems like a fun gimmick with limited utility. It mostly works but is far from perfect, and does much better with simple prompts (i.e. “cat” or “house”) than it does with more detailed, specific prompts (i.e. “man with a red umbrella walking down a futuristic sci-fi street at dusk”). The more specific the text prompt, though, the more trouble it seemed to have following them. Some results were truly cursed, but with more tweaking, I can see Cocreator being a helpful tool to draft ideas for later refinement. Overall usability: 6.5/10 LIVE CAPTIONS Windows did struggle to install the Japanese language pack for whatever reason, but a quick restart fixed that issue. LC handles English fairly well, handling most dialogue in videos and movies with reasonable accuracy. Japanese transcription and translation both were slightly less successful, especially so with conversational Japanese. However, it does a surprisingly decent job so long as you don’t mind a few errors or missed bits here and there. As a test, I had LC try to caption a segment of the June 24th Nintendo Direct. Usability: 8/10 WINDOWS STUDIO EFFECTS They work and they work well. If you’re someone who makes use of your webcam frequently, whether it be for video calls or for streaming, these will no doubt come in handy. Background blur and Eye Contact Correction are the standout features that I used the most, and my friends noted that they were pretty accurate. The cartoon filters and voice focus both worked well, too. Usability: 9/10 COPILOT+ This is by far the best AI feature yet. Translating text, summarizing articles, writing simple code, and image generation are just a few things it's excelled at thus far. No LLM is perfect, but it has much more utility than anticipated. I just wish it could change system settings, like tweaking brightness or volume. Usability: 10/10 CONCLUSION The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is a sleek, lightweight laptop with a stunning display and impressive battery life that is great for everyday tasks and would be particularly well suited for a student or office worker. The new AI features are exciting and promising. Despite its few quirks, it’s an inspiring look into what the future holds for ARM on laptops.
