So far so good. Bought this for my kid so she didn't have to use school issued bargain Chromebooks. Very unique body, great screen, specs are overkill for just about any Chromebook task but should future proof it a bit. Well built, fast. Speakers and camera just ok. We have never run battery out in a day of use over last few weeks. Satisfied with purchase.

Stunning looks along with speedy performance

Samsung makes a pretty stylish Chromebook 2 with an eye popping fiesta red color that is bound to get you noticed and express your style. The form and function of this Chromebook makes it compact, but still fairly powerful for easy use and mobility. This Chromebook 2 offers up a stunning 13.3" QLED display that makes colors and visuals just pop and come alive off the screen. The ability to see over a BILLION colors on this 1920 x 1280p screen is truly impressive. I have a Samsung QLED Q90T TV set and this closely matches the performance of that. Streaming movies and watching entertainment on this screen is truly worth the experience. Add to that the impressive sound that this compact Chromebook can make and you're in for a big experience from a small form factor. The screen is a touch screen for the option of touch or stylus, and it can be flipped into a tablet for versatility. Use it as a standard laptop style Chromebook, or flip it and make it a tablet screen. I don't have this yet, but there is an option to use a stylus with this and enhance your daily usability with this. Samsung Chromebook 2 offers a Smart Amp for sound and this Chromebook can truly get loud, but still remain crisp and clear. Samsung states that this is 178% louder than normal amps, and listening to music or watching movies truly feels like an surrounding experience. I've really been enjoying my music on YouTube and the sound is better than any of my previous laptops. Packed away into this Chromebook 2 is the Intel Core i3 10th Gen chip. From my daily usage over the past few days, I'm blown away at how efficient and responsive this chip makes this Chromebook. The performance feels smooth and never feels bogged down. This feels like a fast laptop computer that I would rival against my Intel i7 Windows laptop. This Chromebook is compact enough to be portable and mobile to keep with you on the go. The battery life has also been performing well and lasting all day under normal usage. Surfing on Chrome has been smooth and fast. Watching movies and clips with Disney+ and YouTube have been a fun entertaining experience also. It's a slim profile and thickness to the Chromebook and I would compare it very closely to rival the shape/size of an Apple MacBook Air. I've really liked the fact that this Chromebook has offered a backlit keyboard and that Samsung didn't skimp on that feature. Backlit keyboards are such an added value and something that I rely on when I work at all hours of the day and night. I have really enjoyed the size of this keyboard as it is using the real estate given wisely and doesn't have a cramped keyboard. Your hands will fit well and glide across to where they need to be on a smaller Chromebook. Also a big plus to have is the Google Assistant to help you in your day to day tasks. PRO: Stylish looks (fiesta red) QLED screen (1920 x 1280) Sound quality is crisp and loud (smart amp) Battery life is long Perfect for on the go mobility CON: Slippery feet that don't keep the Chromebook stationary while typing

New Chrome version 125 has really kicked up the Chromebook experience, and this Samsung Chromebook is easily up to the task. As a photographer, i love the color depth of the QLED screen, and the speed at which i can edit photos across different apps such as Snapseed is fantastic. Now with v125 you can gain access to the lastest Google Photos app and 100gigs of backup for only 2 dollars a month. Long battery life, sound that is impressive with earbuds (hopefully one day google will add a system wide equalizer to the OS) and sleek , compact design i can see why this has been a winner at the Best Buy sale price. However, if you are into video conferencing you may want to get a newer machine with an HD camera.

I gave it four stars because, it works perfectly for the small task I use it for… I mainly use it for work and pretty much nothing else! It works great for me! Perfect for travel and if charged correctly the battery last pretty much a hole day worth of use… fully charged and sitting, it will stay charged many days! Its quick and on point for what it is… i was lucky and got it on sale for under $300… touch screen works fine although I probably never use it compared to just typing. I recommend a mouse….

If it had a better keyboard I'd forgive the absence of the fingerprint reader and SSD. Pros: It got a nice design, I really liked the color. The screen is good, but the lower resolution is clearly noticeable compared to my MB Air. But it mostly matters when working with text. For watching videos it is a very good screen. Speakers are good enough, better than most laptops in this price category. Fast enough. 2-in-1 is convenient for media consumption. Cons: The biggest minus for me is the keyboard. It is so shallow with almost no travel. Even worse than the butterfly apple keyboard that they, fortunately, got rid of. I was constantly making typos while fast typing because some hits were not registered. Just awful. 2nd minus - no fingerprint sensor. When you have some sort of quick secure identification method on all your devices it is really annoying to type in a password or pin code every time you open the lid. The whole "quick start" advantage of the Chrome OS is lost when you need to type in a password to access it. Any cheap Windows laptop with a fingerprint sensor will be ready for work faster than this chromebook. And lastly, the price. Even when on sale for $599 it is still overpriced for what you get. A better keyboard and fingerprint sensor would make it great. Add SSD instead of eMMC and it would be excellent. But $599 and without those critical features when most competitors have them? The only reasons to buy this particular model are the design and screen. So if you want something for 90% consumption and occasional browsing/email, then it is fine (although a tablet might be a better choice, and unlocking it every time with a password is super annoying. If you want to work on it, a horrible keyboard will drive you nuts. In the end, I returned it, added $200, and bought MB Air M1 on sale. I've got so much more for that additional $200. Miles better keyboard, desktop OS, way better screen and performance, fingerprint sensor, more storage, and much better battery life. So again, this particular Chromebook could be an impulse buy, it looks nice, from a respected company, good screen. But there are better options from HP/ASUS/Lenovo/Acer that are even cheaper (being better specced). And if you're ready to spend a little bit more then there is Google Chromebook for $649 with much better everything except it is not 2-in-1.

Excellent all around - I am thrilled with this device. The screen is increbile - best this side of an OLED. Colors are saturated, blacks are deep, contrast is high, and it gets very bright. Speakers are incredibly loud. Maybe lacking a little bass, but very loud and clear. Keyboard has a nice clicky feel. Performance has been better than I expected, it feels fast and nothing really seems to slow it down The trackpad is fine and so is the webcame. And the red color is GORGEOUS. Battery life under load can be just ok, but with normal Chromebook use, it is very good. If this device is on sale I cannot recommend enough. I love it.

This laptop is so amazing! Perfect for school, kids, work, and personal life all in one!! Super fast and light weight, easy to carry around, and so easy to figure out how to use! It was delivered quick, before the scheduled date and the packing was very well put together! Love this product so much! The battery stays charged for 2-3 days while being used constantly as my children use it to watch YouTube and Netflix and I use it for school and work and I also watch my TV on it!

this is the chromebook i was waiting for..i had last year's model but sold it because of the terrible battery life..battery life has doubled and quantum dot screen is bright and sharp. But here is REAL reason this chromebook is a killer..the audio! Although the sound is richer from most chromebooks, music with a decent headphone and dac amp produces the highest quality sound i have ever heard from any device including windows and apple devices. If you are into gaming, they play very nicely including emulators from dreamcast and psp. The Acer chromebook 713 does have a higher resolution but is ruined by terrible speakers and sound which ruins the media experience.. The I3 is a fast processor with no hiccups in the first week of using the device. The red color makes this the most attractive laptop available now. Highly recommended.

beautiful QLED screen for work and play

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 has a beautiful design and is built with premium materials. It is very light weight, and ultra thin. I forget I have it in my book bag sometimes. It doesn't weigh much and is very easy to bring along with me everywhere I go. The hinges are very strong and can rotate all the way back so you can use the Chromebook in "tent mode" and tablet mode. The keyboard is pretty quiet and feels nice to type on even though there isn't much travel. My only complaint about the design of the Chromebook is the touchpad and that the speaker grills are on the bottom of it. I wish the touchpad was a little bigger and more responsive and accurate. It isn't terrible, but it could be better. It has two usb-c ports, a headphone jack and a micro SD card slot. I wish it was a full size SD card slot but I'll take the micro SD over not having one at all. You could use it to expand your storage for apps and photos. Samsung's QLED technology is in this screen, and it is beautiful and vibrant. Even at 100% brightness, blacks are very dark and contrast and color saturation is excellent. It makes for a great viewing experience. Viewing angles are very good and the screen does a very good job at handling reflections. It is also touch capable and I believe you can use a universal USI stylus with it. It doesn't come included this time, but you can find one for $50 or less. Samsung has included a pre-amp and premium speakers with this chrome book. I do wish the speakers were on the top or the sides of the machine though because they do muffle a bit when you have it set on your lap or a table. That being said, sound quality of the speakers is still very good. They get loud and have a full and clear sound. I wish they had a little more bass, but they get the job done and I enjoy watching videos and playing games with it. This Chromebook has quickly become my favorite machine for playing Google Stadia and watching Youtube, Netflix and Anime. Samsung claims that you can get upto 13 hours of battery with this Chromebook but I had to plug it to charge it after about 8 hours of heavy use. I prefer to keep the brightness and volume near Max though so your usage will vary. All in All, Samsung has hit a sweet spot with this Chromebook. The intel I3 makes everything boot up quick while sipping power to allow you to work and play all day. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes. Especially if you can get all your work done in google chrome.

Very nice machine for the sale price. Fully supported until 6/2030. The display is excellent. I expected the sound to be meh because of the downward firing speakers but it's impressive. Minor quibble with it not having USB A port, but it does have two USB C ports. So far the battery life is impressive. I still had time left on my older Chromebook but this was totally worth the upgrade.

I have a love-hate relationship with laptops. Even when purchasing a brand new one, I came across software & performance issues at every turn. It was so frustrating that even though all I wanted to do was simple tasks like just browsing the web, attending zoom calls for school, etc, I was unable to. And then I decided to get this Chromebook. Setting up the Chromebook took about 8 minutes, and a bulk of the time was just spent signing in and syncing my settings. The display is gorgeous and there is not a single time where anything is pixelated, out of focus, or distorted. Browsing the web on this Chromebook is fast, customizable, and very efficient. I also love how you can customize your privacy settings for each website you visit very easily (which is just a Chrome feature, but still!) Tablet mode on this device works so smoothly and I cannot wait to purchase a stylus for it! Battery life on this device is just as promised--AMAZING. It will last me a solid 9-10 hours, even with streaming movies or tv. The flip-able component of this laptop is great, and the hinges seem very durable. Perhaps my one-and-only complaint about this device is the fact that the speakers are located on the bottom of the device, which is not so good if you want to have it set up as a laptop. The speakers are also not as loud as I would have liked. This Chromebook is perfect for someone who is just looking for something compact, simple, and reliable. You can also download apps from the Android app store ( Google Play Store) which is very cool!

I'll go ahead and get this out the way. The naming of this Samsung Galaxy Chromebook "2" is misleading. It's not a second gen of the OG Galaxy Chromebook, it's more in the vain of a FE (Fan Edition) or Lite. It cut back on the top end stuff (4k AMOLED, more powerful processor options, included stylus, fingerprint reader) from the OG and mostly kept the amazing Fiesta Red color. But outside of the misleading naming, it has been an excellent computer to use. Will do it a little different and list the few negatives I have with the device: - Name of device is misleading. - eMMC SSD is slow; NVMe would have made this so much better. - Keyboard has minimal travel with causes double inputs which really annoys. - Lack of at least 1 USB port requires having to use adapters. Now onto the positives: + QLED display is very nice, gets plenty bright and dim. Not on OLED/AMOLED level of blacks and saturation, but gets the job done brilliantly. + i3/8gb RAM/128 gb SSD handles everything I do with ease; never heard the fans (if it even has any) spool up in my testing. + Large, back-lit keys are welcome. + Thin, and light design. About the size of a legal notepad in length and width. GET FIESTA RED + Speakers are very good, fill the room minimal distortion/loss + USI stylus support + Avg about 9-10 hours on a single charge with my usage habits. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 is a great computer, has great features, build quality and value. Lost a star for the annoying keyboard and lack of at least one USB-A port. Just next time, use a better name Samsung. Also, I'd avoid the Intel Celeron/4gb RAM version for $549 if you plan on getting real work done on your Chromebook as you'd be able to find better options.

Wanted a decent Chromebook for work travel. Work is all Google Workspaces so chromebooks fit the bill. Slides and Sheets works fine, the i3 / 8MB is sufficient. The color is fire, stands out from the pack. Processor will start showing it’s age soon (it was a generation behind even when it first came out anyway), but if I get a couple years out of this I’ll be happy.
