Customers are saying

Customers praise the Galaxy Chromebook 2's touchscreen, long battery life, and ease of use. Its lightweight design and compact size are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects. However, some users express concerns about the lack of a USB-A port and the sound quality of the speakers. A few also mention the fan noise as a potential drawback.

    Delivers as Expected

I initially bought the M3 Celeron version of the laptop, and I definitely can't recommend that version of this laptop. All the benchmark tests I ran comparing this to a Google Pixelbook Go, the Pixelbook won every time. A $550 brand new laptop should not be losing to a computer that came out over a year ago. I exchanged this model for the Core i3 version, which is much better. Blew the Pixelbook go out of the water, especially with multitasking and the convertible aspect is important to me. The screen is also a killer on both models, A real winner. Not as slim or light at the Pixelbook Go, but still premium feeling and I'll take the slightly more bulky frame for the better performance, incredible screen, and 2 in 1 convertible factor. Keyboard is good enough, trackpad is a bit small but the battery life is a huge improvement over the original Chromebook, and the added fan means it won't overheat like crazy like the original did. All in all, highly recommend!

This is my 2nd one in a week. The touch screen stopped working after an update. the only way to fix is to send it in. I think I'll go with the HP Chromebook that's comparable to this one. Major disappointment.

So far so good. Was concerned about several things I've read online about build quality and longevity, but one month into the purchase and things are still great. Good quality screen, adequate travel on keyboard, snappy cloud based OS, and a striking aesthetic all come together to make me a very happy buyer..so far.

Wow! Amazing Chromebook. I buy a new Chromebook every 6 months as it's a hobby of mine and this Chromebook Galaxy 2 blows away last years model imo. The QLED is almost as amazing as last years 4K. The 4K drained that battery. The Galaxy 2 is getting me 10 hours plus of usage easy!! Also the speakers are better than last years, really top notch. Fiesta red looks great, keyboard has a great feel to it and the track-pad too. I highly recommend this Chromebook. Good bang for your buck. Support thru 2029 if you are looking more long-term!

First, remember what a Chromebook is. It’s a small laptop/tablet computer that runs Google Chrome. It is not a Windows or Mac computer. It does not run Windows or Mac software. To use a Chromebook, everything you need to do has to be doable on the web or a combination of web and Android apps. This means, of course, that you must be able to connect to the internet at all times when you are using the machine. If the above is acceptable to you, then this Samsung Chromebook is a fine machine. It is sleek, attractive, lightweight, with a bright, crisp screen image. They keyboard is comfortable enough to use compared to a typical laptop. The computer charges with the included charger through either of the two USB-C ports. Other than these, the only other form of connectivity is a micro-SD card slot. It has a touchpad, but I’ve never been a big fan of touchpads, so the first thing I did was to connect a USB-C-capable wireless mouse to one of the USB-C ports, and it worked great. Setting up the computer is easy. Charge it first, then just open the screen, and it turns on automatically. You start by connecting to wi-fi, entering your Google credentials, or create an account if you don’t have one, click through a few settings screens, and you’re off and running. My computer immediately notified me of an update, and I let the computer perform that and then restart. And that’s it. I’m ready to spend all day on the internet using Chrome to access the web. You do have access to Google Docs and other Google apps, so you can perform typical office work. The keyboard portion can be folded back around behind the screen to create a tablet. This automatically turns of the keyboard and touchpad and activates the touchscreen. I use e-readers all the time, and I’m thinking of trying to use this Chromebook as an e-reader. It’s just small enough to hold in your hand, and the screen size is about that of a People or Newsweek magazine-sized page. If you’re in the market for a Chromebook, this Samsung will serve you well.

the red version of this Chromebook was on sale so I grabbed one to replace an out of date chromebook. it is super fast and pages load very quickly. I did not think I would use the touchscreen but it is a great feature.

    One tab wonder

    Posted .

Fair computer. Build quality is extremely lacking in most aspects. The screen is all wobbly if bumped at all. The keys are incredibly loud with the cheap plastic sound. The touchpad is extremely loud with every click. Battery life is good if you are using one browser tab with no apps open, but the second you open anything up that starts making the computer work, forget it. Max of an hour of battery when the fan starts going. I've had to start carrying around the charger wherever I go because it needs battery all of the time. This is an okay computer for someone looking to watch youtube and use google, but if you want this for school please don't get it because you will not be able to open up more than 15 total tabs without the whole thing going nuts and taking minutes to load anything. And trust me I've tried restarting and updating but that doesn't do anything. The redeeming quality of these chromebooks is that the software updates at google are often high quality updates which is sad because the computers that get that software downloaded are pieces of junk. Just buy a MacBook because at least they feel like a nice computer that's actually worth the price while also being able to handle someone who actually needs to do work.

    EXCELLENT IF YOU HAVE WARRANTY

This chromebook is excellent for my 7 year old who is now 10, however, the hinges are weak and tend to break often. I had the screen and hinges repaired 3 times by geeksquad untill they cancelled me as I exhausted the guarantee limits. The hinges broke again for the 4th time and now I have no choice but to buy a new chromebook.

Like the sale person said, it is very much what I needed to do my work. I'm a contractor and needed the computer for cost proposal estimation work. This computer has memory capability that I need and also the speed of the computer is really satisfying as well

First chromebook. Not bad, nothing super impressive. I purchased based on shipping time and it was HIGHLY inaccurate. Will probably file a complaint with my state AG.
