Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I researched a fitness monitoring device, I had some requirements, among which were: affordability, simplicity, capability of monitoring and communicating my fitness activities to my Samsung Health app and, hopefully, decent battery life to avoid a too frequent charging cycle requirement. The "Fit" monitors my activity in the form of steps per day and specific exercise activities I selected from a reasonably wide menu of choices. It monitors my heart rate, calories burned, stress level, sleep patterns, and provides basic day, time, and temperature info in addition to notifications from email, texts, and incoming calls. If activated, it records data for specific workout choices and integrates that data into my onboard Samsung Health phone app. The Health app is used as a central coordination center between my "Fit" device and a separate biometric scale that also sends body metrics to the app as well. So, the Fit device is exactly the right tool for me to approach my health needs scientifically. My only slight dissatisfaction with Fit, is that it runs out of battery power in about 3 days. The advertising implies a week or more, but that only seems achievable if you only program it for the fewest functions, or...you don't use it much. So...every third day I usually charge it overnight while I sleep, so I don't lose much active time data. The black vinyl/plastic wristband is pliant and doesn't really cause any discomfort in wearing it nearly continuously. It does have kind of a weird closure design and took a little getting used to. Also, despite the ads saying it's water resistant, I choose not to wear it in the shower. Why take the chance unnecessarily? So far...a pretty good device with value for the price I paid.
