Turns out that iPhone and tablet were too early generations, so I returned it. Should have said outside the box what the watch was compatible with.

Samsung has removed the ability to link to 3rd party apps like Runkeeper, MyFitnessPal etc.. You are forced to use Samsung Health. In my opinion that make it a non-starter.
