Customers are saying

Customers love the Galaxy Kids Tab E Lite's ease of use, durable case, and long battery life, making it a great tablet for children. Many appreciate the parental controls and the affordable price point. While some found the storage to be limited and the performance a bit slow, the positive feedback on usability and child-friendliness outweighs these concerns.

    Awesome for kids but...

This is awesome for kids and adults. This tablet has an option to put it on Samsung's kids mode. While it's on this mode, your child has an array of kid-friendly games to choose from, BUT it cost $5/month to maintain (plus a valid internet connection). I paid for the kids mode for about a month, but I eventually turned it off because my child could get the same type of games for free in the app store. I just made the parental controls stricter. This tablet works just like a Samsung Galaxy cell phone, but has a larger screen and it comes with a removable silicon case. It's worth buying & it's up to you if paying $5/month for kids mode is. Luckily, you don't have to pay this fee if you don't want kids mode and can just turn it off. Either way, I would recommend purchasing this tablet whether it's for a child, an adult, or anyone in between.

    Great kids Tablet

Got this tablet for my 4 yr old daughter after having so-so experiences with NABI tablets. This tablet is a major step up. My only complaint is that it is not on the latest Android version. Battery life is 10 fold that of the NABI tablet. In fact I caught my daughter STILL AWAKE at 3:30am sneaking in game time last night. Her old tablets wouldn't have made it past midnight. Hah. Guess the tablet has to be hidden at night from now on! (Note: May daughter really doesn't use the kids mode. It has a lot of cool games, but she does fine using it without it being locked down.)

    It set on fire!

We have two of these and have had them for about two years now and yesterday, one of them set on fire as soon as it was plugged in to the charger!! We are super disappointed because we don’t take them out of our home and my kids literally only play games and go on YouTube with them. The other tablet is fine for now but it definitely has to be watched!

    Great for the Kids

I have kids ranging from 3 - 9 yrs old. This tablet is nice as you can use the built in kids mode for the younger years, then remove the kids mode and use it as a regular mode android tablet when they are older. Great quality, also includes a SD card slot... Great build and price.

    Samsung over Amazon

I have always been a samsung supporter but we first bought amazon kids tablet for my son. That was a huge mistake it never worked from day one. We bought this tablet and at first my son didnt know how he felt about it. After a day or so he was comfortable and he wont put it down. I personally do not care for the wheel used in the kids mode.

I purchased this for a gift for my son who had just completed the first grade. He loves it!! I like that the interface is easy and identical to the Samasung Galaxy phones, which makes it easy for both me ad him to operate. The time settings are also a plus!!

    Disappointing

Had the kids galaxy 3 tab before this and loved it (with the orange cover), so bought 2 of these... very disappointed. This is not smooth when scrolling down, has a tiny hitch in the display as the processor continually tries to catch up with even just looking through the menu. There is also a descent delay when waiting on apps to load, ok for toddlers, but not ideal. Also, the screen is not super sensitive so it takes a couple tries (even for me- use touch screen tech every day) to swipe to open the screen and when choosing things- not ideal for kids. Did not plan on using the kids subscription but still expected a kids mode like the last one had. This does allow for restricted users but it has some settings locked and makes you leave them accessible on the restricted user's profile... so they can access settings (not all- some are locked for admin only, but enough to make me not like it for my 4 & 6 year olds), camera, etc. It will let you "hide" them on their side, but they can hit the 3 box menu in the top right and choose to "show hidden" apps, so it doesn't give me the peace of mind handing it over to my toddler like a true kids mode does. Not sure if this is corrected with the monthly fee subscription or not, but I'm not going to commit to that either way, so will be returning these tomorrow. Pro's- seemed to be great build quality. Usually LOVE Samsung... really try for brand loyalty, but my old kindle fire hd has a better built in kid's mode than this one that's designed for kids...

One tiny flaw but solid nonetheless

I just purchased this item after my daughter dropped an old phone I was letting her use as a tablet in water. Hey, things happen. Anyway, I am a Samsung fan, so did comparisons with other Tabs. I chose this ultimately because I wouldn't have to purchase additional hardware to make it kid friendly (bumper case). In my old device, she had an app where she could take photos and draw on her pictures. Now, if your child is like mine, with this device sadly you cannot do that. There is no front facing camera, which is both odd and surprising. Also, she likes to videochat with her cousin and grandma, so unfortunately I cannot keep a device that does not have a front facing camera. .. It's a good product, just not for us.

My first tablet, very affordable for all the options, easy to use, lots of memory, compatible with bigger SD cards, runs fast and reliable. I use mostly for game apps, and reading.

Love the tablet hate the protection

I LOVE THIS TABLET. I have bought 2 of them not because I needed more but because the protection on them a sucks. If Samsung actually reads reviews or whoever, but it would be great if you covered the hole for the charger port. I'm not asking for a life proof case on these but I feel like they could be a little bit more "drool resistant". I'm also happy that you can download the Samsung kids app on another tablet. I feel wrong for dishing out $120 for a kids tablet and then $8, or however much the subscription is to the app.
