I spent a long time researching tablets (including the iPad) and chose this one for it's size, weight and also customer reviews. If you are an Android user this is a GREAT product for a fair price. It fits nicely in my purse and I use it for all types of daily tasks, including making lists, surfing the web, banking, facebook, etc. I also use it as a reader and it's so nice to not have a light on to read.

When we thought of getting a tablet we were confused between ipad and Samsung. I am glad we chose this one. It gives you great flexibility. We bought this just before our vacation trip. We also bought an OTG cable so that we can transfer pictures from our camera to the tablet directly. It worked great and we did not have to carry our laptop. I don't think iPad gives you this flexibility. My daughter simply loves this. The stylus is great. There is nothing bad about this.

I love that it so easily recognized my handwriting. Love the pen!. Used it on vacation and took pretty decent pics. Love watching videos on it. I would prefer that it have a switch to turn off the touch keys on the front of the device.

I love using it. Screen clarity is great. Fast processor, battery life is amazing.

I use this for work but also for reading newspapers and books while relaxing. The 8" size is perfect for that and the clarity of the screen was far superior to the 10.1" Note available when I bought the 8" Note. (they may have released the new version of the 10.1 by now) I had hoped that it would sync with my Samsung Galaxy III phone but I would need to add it to my phone service which would cost over $300 per year. I have been able to use it in presentations of software I sell and the size has been fine when showing features to one other person. I would like to see Samsung add a full size USB port in the future.

I have had iPads, a Windows tablet, and a no-name android tablet, and this blows them all away! The screen is bright, the interface is intuitive, and the touch-screen is fluid and responsive. The price is a little high, but for this level of quality, it is well worth the money. I wish there were a no-contract 4G option, but I use WiFi most of the time anyway, so it's not a big deal.

Compact and full of potential! Love the light weight of unit and all the apps. Fast boot and processing.

Excellent display. Fast processor. Runs smoothly and can handle just about anything you want it to do. Great all around tablet, especially with the S Pen

I have a Galaxy Note 2 phone and thought that the Galaxy Note 8 would be a natural compliment to it. Similar features and form factor, operating systems, etc. Just in a larger size for work purposes. After using the Note 8 for about three weeks, I found that I preferred my iPad. Granted, it is a bit larger, but I feel that the iOS is easier to use and the Apps are more consistent across the platform. The android apps are coming of age, but many are not quite "there" yet. Plus, the screen resolution seems better on the iPad. Not sure it actually is, it may just be the larger form factor. All in all, while I liked the Note 8, I just don't feel that its current price of 399 is justified. Meet or under-cut the iPad mini price and I think Samsung would have hit a home run.

I love this tablet and would recommend it to anyone. Does everything and has great memory and speed.

Went in to look for a tablet, was considering getting the kindle fire hd... just wanted something to have to use when I waz out of the house... after a few questions and the awesome help from the sales guy... he recommended this.... I mainly want it for entertainment purposes... I love to watch premium channel showz... HBO GO, SHOWTIME... sound is okay, need better headphones... but the picture is great... love the multi tasking, and being able to upload my photo's on the tablet look amazing... great way to show off the pics that I take...

Bought for my teenage daughter, she loves it. Says it's very fast and been very reliable. Easy to tote around and excellent quality. So far no complaints.

I'm having a blast with my tablet!!! It's been easy to figure out, even for an older person. I love getting the weather, finding apps to use, being able to check the internet and my e-mail, play games, and read books!!! I love that I can set up a hotspot using my cell phone, for those times I'm away from home and need to get online. I'm still finding out things about my tablet; I'm sure I've not used all its functions yet!

Perfect size with really great screen resolution and the stylus is nice

I wanted something to watch movies on during airplane trips. I wanted the sd card slot. I wanted a reasonable price point. Started with an ipad mini and wasn't happy with only 16g on board and no sd card. Looked at nexus 7 but smaller screen and no sd card. Settled on the note. Bigger screen. Sd card. Not as good of resolution as the nexus but satisfies what I wanted. More costly than the nexus. Samsung os on top of android is a pig. Only leaves me with about 10g on board but haven't run into any issues yet. I also have a gs3 so pretty common human interface.

I really like this tablet (I've had iPad 1, 2 and Mini as well as Nexus 10). Its very easy to hold and use as a book reader. Solid for light gaming and productivity apps. Where it really shines is as a replacement for that pad of paper people still use for meeting notes and shared sketching. The handwriting recognition is truly amazing especially given the chicken-scratch I normally call my notes. Being able to search and archive my meeting notes is priceless. Even though the samsung software is annoying and worthless, the device itself is the only true paper replacement for office use. I've tried writing on an iPad and there is simply no app that is even in the same ballpark as the note.

I love using this tablet! I have other tablets,but I enjoy using this tablet out of all of them. This tablet is so versatile. I can take notes using the pen or be creative and draw,there are even some apps for the S-pen. I do think this tablet lacks in battery life though.I only use this tablet at home so it is no big deal to recharge. I like the fact too that this has a micro card slot. I was going to get the larger tablet but settled for this tablet because it is easier to hold.
