That said, the charging case is nice, although I'd prefer black to fit with the rest of my Samsung gang. Like all smart rings, these can't be recycled or repaired. They're expensive disposable electronics. If you don't have or intend to get the watch, go ahead and buy this thing, but you'd be better off with the watch.

It was iffy when recording sleep and sometimes stopped tracking it in the middle of the night. He also had a problem with the sizing but this was this highest it went. The thought of this was pretty neat but he would rather his watch over this since it does everything and more

However, as it stands, this ring was a half-baked idea and should not cost more than $200 at most. Your watch will always supersede the ring anytime you wear them together. You want to check your heart rate? Your watch will do it even when it's inaccurate. You want your ring to do it? You have to take to watch off. You want to check your blood oxygen? use your watch because your ring does not allow manual check. The most important thing that will force me to return this is inability to switch to the ring to measure heart rate during cardio session. This was the sole reason why I wanted the ring because I was sick of my watch not being able to measure my HR during a sweaty cardio session. I will wait for gen 3 or gen 4 when they improve some of these qualities. Oh and some of the competitors are offering 12 days of battery life so you are definitely falling behind Samsung.

The Galaxy Ring may be more comfortable and convenient option to some customers than a Galaxy Watch because it's worn on your finger instead of your wrist. You do not need to remove your Galaxy Watch in order to utilize the Galaxy Ring's heath tracking features. However, when you do wear both devices simultaneously, your Galaxy Watch will function as the primary device. I write this review in my Samsung Galaxy Fold 7. So, for me it was natural to try the ring. The ring immediately started getting discolored easily from normal wear and tear, and having the matt black model the scratches are rather unsightly. 1 year into ownership and the great battery life evaporated into 7 hours. The ring spends more time charging than on my finger. I found this is a common issue and despite trying all the recommended resolutions, I still have the same problem. Buy a galaxy watch and skip the ring. It's not worth it.
