I was so excited when the new Galaxy ring was released and ordered one right away. It was beautiful in person and appeared to be constructed from high-quality materials. I purchased the correct size after ordering and using the sample sized rings. When I went to set up the ring with Samsung Health and my new Galaxy Fold 6, I found out that I could only track my data on Android phones and could not use an app for IOS devices. I was disappointed at first, but to be fair, each brand tried to limit compatability with their own ecosystem, so I did not mind. The main issue that was the deal breaker was that I received a cheap smart ring on Amazon that used the Qring app for Android and IOS both and tracked all of my data immediately and in great detail but the Samsung Ring device app and Samsung Health app had limited data or none. I was shocked and extremely disappointed because I have been a loyal Samsung customer for decades and purchased a variety of tech devices along with appliances, laptops, monitors, and televisions. I know this is the first attempt by Samsung, but it's not good enough. I returned my ring without any hesitation but was frustrated with all the wasted time spent on the purchase and programming, trouble shooting, and then giving up on it. I share my unbiased review to alert others before they make a purchase they might regret. Congratulations to all the buyers who are completely satisfied with the product.

I really wanted to like this ring. I wanted something to track my sleep and my workouts. I did not like the idea of wearing a watch to bed or having to charge it every day, plus I have some nice analog watches. The ring gave me an opportunity to go without charging for about 4 or 5 days, which was very appealing, and to not have a bulky item on my wrist at night. I got the ring sizing kit and I got the right size. However, first problem is they don't have half sizes which would have been perfect. The finger I wanted it to be on is about a 6.5 and all they have are full sizes. Size 6 was way too tight and Size 8 was way too big so I went with the Size 7. Getting started was great. I got the advertised four to five days without charging. The tracking for sleep gave me some interesting insights. I was able to track things like heart rate and number of steps and my workouts in the Samsung Health app. Some of the more nitpicky things are that the Titanium does not look like metal, it looks like plastic. It's fine, but for the price it should look better than it does. The next problem was despite the fact that it says you can wear it during workouts, using it while lifting weights or doing pull ups, etc, is difficult because it just pushes into your finger. There is a reason that people who do serious weightlifting use silicon bands, if anything. But for me, these were rather nitpicky things and overall I enjoyed having the ring for the time that I had it. However, after about five and half months, the battery started to drain really fast. I noticed when I put it on the charger it would be maybe a quarter down by the end of the day instead of half that. Within literal days it started losing about half it's charge by bedtime. Then overnight it would start disconnecting. Within the next few days it just went downhill from there. Right before I returned it I used the hidden menu to track the battery. It was losing about 1% every two minutes meaning the thing would only last maybe a couple of hours at most before it needed another charge. I also noticed that when I put it on the charger, it would climb from maybe 40% to 100% within about six minutes. That was not normal either. As soon as I would take it off the charger it would lose a point and then rapidly fall again until it reached about the mid-30s where it would slow down its charge loss but it would constantly disconnect from my phone, which coincidentally is a Samsung phone. In not even six months the thing was worthless. If you read forums, you'll find that this is a widespread problem. Rapid battery drain comes out of nowhere within about six months and people lose connection to their phones constantly. They struggle to get any kind of resolution from Samsung. Thankfully I had purchased the Geek Squad protection plan and was able to get my money back. Granted it was only a store credit, but now I'm going to more seriously look at other options including another watch. I strongly recommend that anyone who considers this ring also get a protection program, otherwise within probably less than a year you will regret it. There is no way to repair these so they either need to be returned or thrown out. I am super disappointed that what started off so promising became such a waste of my time and very frustrating within less than a year. I would expect more and if I hadn't caught this on sale and had paid full price and didn't have the protection plan, I would have been absolutely livid with Samsung. I did briefly think about getting a replacement for it however, fool me once...
