Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Galaxy S8's camera, long battery life, user-friendly interface, and reasonable price point. They appreciate that the phone is unlocked, allowing them to use it with any carrier. Some users find the phone to be fragile and slippery, and dislike the pre-installed software (bloatware).

Not my favorite. Feels cheap and sluggish. Very fragile, it broke with a light drop.

    Bixby FAIL

    Posted .

Phone is no different than any other on the market. Bixby is terrible, under developed and a joke that the launch button on the side of the phone that your hand constantly hits can't be remapped. I feel like I'm being tricked into using a fail option from Samsung. On this basis alone I wouldnt buy another Galaxy. I get you want Bixby on Samsung phones but at least give me the option to turn it off.

Why did Samsung place the Finger Scanner right next to the camera lense? Really bad placement. I have a difficult time even with both hand accessing the scanner without smudging the camera lens. Other than this, the phone is nice. However, due to this finger scanner placement issue, I'll be returning the phone and getting the P9.

    Good Phone, Bad Service

    1. I was using it fine. One day failed to start. 2. Sent in for repair on 8/18/18. 3. Just got it back on 8/31/18. 4. Samsung did not fix it. The letter came with the phone said simply, "unable to fix" 5. Called Samsung. Was on hold for 32 min. After several transfers, I was told there was a liquid damage. 6. How can there be a liquid damage when it never went near water? 7. Isn't Samsung Galaxy S8 water resistant to begin with? 8. It took Samsung over 10 days to determine that there is a water damage? 9. I have had many Samsung products in the past. I have to confess it will take a lot for me to consider Samsung again.

It was great for about a year, but then a really nasty screen burn showed up right after the warranty period expired and replacing the screen would be about $300

I have always had Samsung phones and been happy with them but the s8 is completely worthless. The phone will not charge with a wireless charger no matter what I do, will not read a samsung brand uhs sd card, and none of the biometric sensors can seem to recognize me. This phone has a lot of potential but Samsung clearly released this phone too early and is far too reliant on brand loyalty. I am on my way to take the phone back and Samsung has lost a loyal customer for releasing a complete lemon in the s8. Don't make the same mistake I did, buy a phone from Apple, Google, or another brand that cares enough to release functional products.

    STAY AWAY

People who say that other reviews about this subject are wrong are clearly not educated about the issue. we are talking about the UNLOCKED VERSION. The problem is that they have consistently updated the s7 & s7 edge late. Android 7.0 Nougat just got pushed out, IN MAY!!! While other carrier locked phones got Nougat them several month in advance as early as December. I am a person who travels and I always buy the latest phone UNLOCKED whether its Apple or Samsung. I switched from iPhone to Samsung with the s7 Edge, but because of the update issue I am looking for another reliable brand. NEVER SAMSUNG AGAIN

    Don't use with major carrier

    Posted .

"works with all carriers" only covers basic phone and data functionality. Advanced features like Wi-Fi Calling, VoLTE, carrier aggregation, etc. are disabled as soon as you put a major carrier SIM in the phone. The carriers block non-carrier-branded phones from using the advanced & high speed features. If you want a crippled phone regardless of which major carrier you use, go ahead - the phone is otherwise great. But if you're expecting equivalent performance to a carrier-branded phone, you will not get it.

    Minor Flaws

In a one year spand my phone had burn in and water in the charging port. It would also glitch and I would have to restart it just so it didn’t happen as often. I went to go ask geek squad if they could fix it and they said they couldn’t because “They only fix apple phones.” The phone is great now since I got it repaired.

Had great hope for this phone but after a week of struggle I will be taking it back. Phone does not pair with my car bluetooth and after reading samsung forum for several days, I have found I am not the only one with the problem. Discussions with Samsung support and BestBuy support have yielded no solution. So the phone will go back.

As per the Product description, this phone is compatible with Sprint, but when I tried to activate the phone on Sprint, it did not go through, as per Sprint, this is not compatible. I am returning the phone back to Best Buy. Best Buy should fix the product description and not mislead customers.

Do not buy the unlocked version. Samsung will not update. They abandoned the S7 unlocked and will do the same with this one. Search the internet before buying this version.
