I had tried other phones after I lost my note3 a year and a half ago. At that point I had the phone since it came out and loved it. That was also my first phone after iPhones for years, so I thought it may just be the Android OS. I tested this by going with a moto x pure in June 2016 I got pretty cheap. It was horrible, so i came back with this phone and it's everything I wanted. Taking time to get used to the edge screen, but I think it will have more capabilities I just haven't realized completely. I didn't need to pay so much more for 2 more gigs of memory and a pen I never used with another note. Other than that, the phones were very similar to me.

I got this phone because I was still rocking a s6 and it couldn't hold a battery charge. Now I have this one and I'm content. Still learning about the new features. Can't really say much because it's so new to me. It's another galaxy. I know the basics based off the other two galaxies I owned.

The Samsung 8+ Phone came out with all the bells and whistles plus many more than the "New iPhone 8" almost a year before Apple. The Samsung is $400 cheaper than Apple's new phone and it will have to go through the time frame of working out all the bugs it will invariably have to deal with. The Samsung 8+'s full screen and camera are second to none.

    The Most Amazing Smartphone (Ever!)

My new, unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8+ is, by far, the best, most "infinitely" amazing smartphone available on the market today! After much deliberation, I decided to purchase the unlocked version of this phone, mainly to avoid the unnecessary carrier-specific bloatware. So far, I can't speak highly enough about my phone. A word of caution to those who may be awaiting the release of the new "flagship" Note 8: the Note 8's screen is only 0.01" larger than the S8+, but the Note's display has less PPI and, not to mention, a smaller battery to fuel a more power-devouring device. While I will concede that the S- Pen is a "Note-worthy" tool to have built in to a device, my Targus stylus does an equally impressive job of writing, drawing, and notating, but my stylus doesn't bulk up my device, nor does it raise the price of the device almost $300 more than what I paid for my S8+. My final verdict remains my preliminary one: the unlocked S8+ is the finest piece of technology on the market to date.

Best Phone , I don't know cause everyone has their own brand they like, some people like apple I phones, But I like android phones, So I had a S7 and I saw the new S8+ how big the screen is and how slim it was and did not get wider so I figured I would get it and see , Well at first I thought I would not like it but a lot of manufactures now have no physical home button and with out it the screen is so much bigger, but Samsung figured out how to push the image out to the edge. Witch makes the screen big and beautiful , the best screen I have seen , also I like it cause you can add a memory card and take as many photos as you want and not worry about it. Plus new model new processor much faster , and over all it is a great phone, it takes great photos and has a great signal great phone sounds good on calls, I must say it is the best android phone I have had so far. Oh some people are complaining about the finger scanner on the back, well I am right handed and when I pick up the phone my right index finger is right there where the finger scanner is, and so far I have not smudged the camera lens , I think it works better than the finger scanner on the front, as far as Bixby well I don't use google assistant, my job gave me an Iphone and I don't use Siri , so like all phones and computers it is just another program I don't use. so what I just don't use the button. Oh I forgot the best is it has new Bluetooth version and you can connect two wireless headsets at the same time. And I use it in the car I play my music through the car and make calls and leave it in my pocket, Ok so yes I think it is the best Phone.

This is a good phone I'm just coming from the Galaxy S7 Edge and this one is better of course the screen is a little bit larger and also appears to be bit brighter and more crisp it takes great pictures also. I chose this over the S9 because it's only minor differences. This phone is worth getting as an upgrade or beginning phone it's also the unlocked version so you can put it on any carrier Network you choose.

Upgraded from my Galaxy S5 and there is no comparison. The Galaxy S8+ is faster, more storage, better screen & camera, and easy to use. The phone is unlocked so I can't be held hostage by a carrier. The real deal maker is the Samsung Switch app that my Best Buy rep used to transfer all my contacts, data, and apps to the new phone. This is a tremendous time saver. Highly recommend the Galaxy S8+ and am I buying one for my wife.

I have now had my S8+ for 3 days. I vacillated between the iPhone 7+ and am so glad that I opted for the S8+. It is, simply, the best phone I have ever had. After having iPhones, I made the shift to the S7 edge last year. It was excellent, but the interface was not nearly as neat as IOS and it had a certain lag. Some reviews have stated that the S8+ has lag as well (which made me reticent, after having read many reviews). I am happy to say that I have not experienced any lag at all in with the S8+. Moreover, the interface is intuitive, quick, and very helpful. I chose the S8+ because of the camera. The S7 edge impressed me beyond belief (it had a cracked screen and I used that as an excuse to go ahead and upgrade). The S8+ has the same camera. The depth of images and clarity is simply not beaten by the iPhone. I understand the Pixel might possibly beat it, but the Pixel is not available on AT&T and it does not have near the style--e.g., curved edges--as the S8+. The iris scanner and the face recognition security logins require proper light. I'm sure future versions will improve upon this function. But, it is most certainly several generations beyond what the iPhone offers. It is very useful and I, perhaps as a lone voice, don't find the placement of the fingerprint scanner to be in any way a problem when the iris scanner or face recognition don't work quickly. Samsung should probably move it a bit from the camera lens to prevent smudging; but once you get used to it, you shouldn't have any problem. I just couldn't be happier. What a fantastic phone!!!

A lot of the features I had dialled in on my last phone are automatic now. The dictionary is most noticeable. Since I can't program the words anymore, autocorrect has become a nightmare. Often, the phone persistently changes words that are jargon, and is really difficult to get used to. The keyboard also changed, which makes no sense. It's a classic case of IT engineers lacking basic understanding of the human counterpart. I thought buying another galaxy would get me a new improved version. I was wrong. It's a new, completely different phone. Pros: Faster processing, improved reception, better functionality overall from a hardware perspective. This is coming from the S5, so I'm not really surprised. I liked that phone a lot though. Of all of the galaxies I've had, that one was the best. It just got old, and compatibility was becoming an issue. I also like Bixby. I haven't used it much yet, but it's pretty cool. I hope Samsung gets it running properly, instead of abandoning it like most new ideas. Cons; I can't get a lot of the functions to work the way I like. It's like Samsung feels that they know what's best, and I should learn to trust their wisdom. It's annoying. My phone is supposed to be convenient for ME. I expect to use it MY way. My old phone allowed me to make it work the way i like. This one doesn't. Maybe I just haven't found the adjustments yet, but you'd think they'd be similar. The lock screen is really annoying. I have to go through three screens to get in. There's cooler biometrics on it, but so what? Is it really more secure? Is it more convenient? I don't think so. It's nice having the clock on the screen when it's not in use if you want, but it IS a hassle. The home button is gone. Now, there's a haptic feedback pressure sensor with no other use. I suppose that makes it easier to waterproof, but there have always been cases that solve that problem. Now the phone wouldn't work properly with a watertight case. I guess that's just adjusting, but I feel better having an actual button. The phone seems like it was designed strictly for people who enjoy flaunting the newest technology, not people like me who want the absolute best functionality. If I was in charge of Samsung, I'd have a version intended for people like me. Only tested, reliable functions. Let someone else field test the latest ideas. I want my tech to work the first time, every time. Other people like the newest prototypes. This phone is good for them. Summary: If you want the newest features, and don't really depend on your phone, this is a really hip phone to get. If you can't do without your phone working perfectly, you would probably be frustrated by this one. It's fine, overall, but by not being able to adjust functions to fine tune them, this phone forces you to give too much attention to tasks you just want to finish, and get on with your day. Honestly, this phone is making me nostalgic for the days when we all used landlines.

I'm very pleased with the phone. Its fast, looks great, the screen is beautiful, and the device does all the things I expect from the current generation of smart phones. One of the first things I did was install Google Assistant in place of Bixby and replaced some other Samsung versions of apps with Google counterparts. I spend a lot of time with Google tools in other contexts, and I want the tight integration across the devices that I get with using the Google tools everywhere. I also generally like how Google's apps work. That's not a knock on Samsung's versions. Its a preference, and the fact that I had that choice is a strong reason to buy this and other Samsung devices. Not all device manufacturers give you the choices. I have two minor complaints about the hardware. The screen goes right to the edge, even seeming to wrap around. It looks great, but it impacts usage. When I have a case on the phone I can lose the very edge of the screen under the case. When I don't have a case on I find that sometimes I am accidentally registering my fingers on the screen just holding the phone, which can interfere with the apps I'm using. My other complaint is the placement and sensitivity of the fingerprint sensor. Even after I got used to the placement, I still have to fidget with it more than I'd like sometimes to get it to read properly. I think Samsung has fixed this with the next generation. These are minor complaints, and overall I'm very happy with the phone. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

My old phone kicked the bucket so I needed a replacement ASAP. Given the options in early July 2017 and my desired features, it was either the Galaxy S8 or the OnePlus 5. I'm hesitant of Samsung hardware due to past experiences (typically shows low longevity) but OnePlus garners similar concerns. But so far, so good. The screen is fantastic and the camera takes incredible pictures (for a cell phone). Battery life has been impeccable. I went with the S8+ over the S8 because I had a coupon combined with a special offer so the marginal cost was negligible. All you get is a slightly larger screen and ~20 more minutes of battery life.

I’m delighted with my S8 plus. After 7 months I am as excited about it as the day I got it. Battery life is excellent, I manage on an overnight charge for the entire day as long as I use the Bluetooth sparingly. It doesn’t get hot, a major improvement over earlier Ss. I’m so happy, that I’m considering treating myself to a Note 8 and reserving the S8 as my backup phone. Good job Samsung!

My previous phone was a Galaxy S5 and the battery was overcharged and beginning to expand and bulge the case, so I needed to get a new phone. Aside from the camera, I thought it was a great phone and decided to check out the S8 Plus. I'm with MetroPCS and they weren't currently selling the S8 plus, just the S8, so I went by Best Buy and on the spur of the moment decided to get one. First thing I have to mention is how great the salesperson John Ribeiro at the Harrison Street San Francisco store was. He figured out how to set me up before I left the store and did have to make a quick call to MetroPCS to have them talk him through a few things, but even though I gave him options to wiggle out of getting it done and taking the extra step for myself to go to a Metro PCS, he plowed through and figured it out and then took me over to the Samsung representative who transferred everything from my old phone to the new and I walked out of the store with my brand new phone working perfectly! I can't tell you how impressed I was with the service that day! Aside from the fact that it's such a beautiful designed and sexy piece of equipment, it's working wonderfully and finally, I can take pictures that look great without any thought. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend the phone highly, but what really was the icing on the cake was all the extra effort put in to have me walk out of the store with my phone working perfectly. I am very impressed with Best Buy.

So far great phone! Meets galaxy expectations. Great camera and loud speaker. Negative slender large size slightly heavier than previous galaxies. Planed to get a 7, spent the extra for the battery and GB. Battery life supposed to be longer than the 8. I get about two days on a charge with average use. More GB, more space but also pre loaded apps seem to use plenty. Overall great purchase thus far.
