I came from Apple and this is an amazing phone. Samsung doesn’t “skimp” on technology whereas Apple does. The display is gorgeous, the speed, and I LOVE Google. I still have my iPhone 8 but I’m gonna use the S8 Plus as my daily driver. Sorry iPhone, but Galaxy stole your job

Treat it like its a million dollar egg shell...

This phone is beautiful. The camera is amazing. that about the extent of the pros. The audio isnt that great. the speaker is in a place that gets covered up if playing games or watching videos making it inaudible. The finger print sensor is in a horrible spot, I have not used it once because of this. The glass housing... I like thousands of other people now, dropped my phone from less then a foot off the ground on day 1... Currently they dont FIX the phone, they replace it. The cost of replacing is upwards of $250 when I tried with insurance from sprint. there are phones with similar quality cameras, better fingerprint placement, better price, and not as fragile.

    Beautiful And Powerful Device

Despite the previous pointless negative reviews on The Unlocked variant of a phone that hasn't even been released yet....The GS8 is a powerhouse device with absolute beautiful 4k HDR display. I will also mention the added in-house product support at the Samsung experience shop in BestBuy. Very informative and "knowledgeable" group. I would recommend speaking to them about any issues and free classes!!!

Powerful phone. Very fast. The curved screen is just a gimmick. Distorts items on the edge of the screen and causes extra glare on the sides. Also makes it harder to tap items on the edge of the screen. Did eventually get it working with Verizon, but it was painful getting an unlocked phone activated. Battery life is good, but still doesn't last an entire day. And major downside with nonreplaceable battery. Charges fast with appropriate charger. USB-C port is a nice plus.

I had tested many phones before settling on this one. This phone is the perfect size. I have very large hands for which reason the phone fits in my hands perfectly. The fingerprint sensor works flawlessly. I added my print 4 times using various placements of my finger. There isn't a single thing about this phone to complain about. It has all of the latest features.

    Unlock never good

I bought the phone to use on my tmobile. It work greate until i updated on 10/31/2017. My phone keep dialing, play the voices "your phone has difficult on connection, please try it again", then it disconnect. When i try to google something. It is very slow, sometime it cant even open the page. I look at the strenght bar. Only one bar is high light. In the same area, every days before update. I always have full bars and it run smooth. So if my advice, dont buy unlock phone. It is not worth it

    Fragile

Pros: Spec are great, Takes good picture and video. Big sharp display. Cons: Phone is big. No where to hold the phone without covering up the display. Phone is wrapped in glass. Fragile glass. Unlike the old phones where you could replace just the glass for $20-$50... not with this due to the fact that the most expensive part of the phone is super glued to the cheapest parts. But you can get a case and insurance right. For $900 you'd think you were getting a well built phone. A case will only make this phone that much bigger and good luck getting that in your pocket and remember not to sit on it if you do. Oh and if it is in a case that defeats this flag ship feature of wrapped glass. Samsung's warranty is worth as much as toilet paper. You are more likely to damage the phone long before anything ever goes wrong with the phone. When you do brake the glass and you will. Both the front and back is likely to be broken. That cost is well over $300- $400. So do you think this phone is worth it? Well... do you? Oh and when I dropped the phone I was sitting at my desk. The phone fell 6 inches and hit that weakest point of the phone.

    It's a great phone but...

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's a great phone but, if you buy it unlocked it lacks the carrier based features such as: At&t Video chatting for Samsung. I bought the phone unlocked and got it activated with At&t. I was told because it's unlocked, I can not got the carrier features. That sucks because I paid a lot of money for a phone that I wanted to come with everything that it can do. I would advise buying the phone outright through a carrier than unlocked.

    Bluetooth issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This phone has many bluetooth issues. Do a search and the Samsung website alone has many people who have nothing but problems with the bluetooth. Ours went from no real talk to text in the car(It won't verbally tell you a text has come in, and it won't read it and won't allow verbal response), now when it connects to the car it acts like it's in a call and locks up the cars system. The only way to unlock is to turn off Bluetooth. I was going to buy one for myself(the one we bought is for my wife), I won't with all the bluetooth issues. Before anyone thinks it's a problem with the car keep in mind that a Nokia 900, 920 and 1520 all connected to this car with no bluetooth issues.

must check it before you decide to keep it

Remember to check the screen after received! Use a flashlight to see if there any problem like scratches on it, I received a new S8+ has 2 obvious scratches on screen, I am going to exchange today. In China, there are many people response to poor quality control, a lot of defects in many forums. They released earlier than us for 2 weeks. China and the United States are both Snapdragon 835 version, This Best Buy U.S.Version made in the same factory. But for anyone who wants to buy the international version need to pay attention to CPU compatibility issues. Qualcomm 835&Adreno 540 are much better than Exynos 8895&Mali-71. Especially when you use cellphone to play 3D games. Many games do not support Mail GPU, Like you use AMD graphics to play large 3D games it will has a lot of problems such as reboot, not support Anti-aliasing, Cannot open in-game special effect. Samsung s8 is a good machine, Light and thin, but must check it before you decide to keep the one you're received.

    Beware of Galaxy S8+

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I ordered the S8 and traded it in the store for the +. In just a few days it developed a screen crack after no falls or trauma I was aware of. I'm paying $216 for Samsung repair. It is a high classed phone by function, but much too fragile for ordinary use. It didn't explode; maybe that's considered an upgrade. It was protected by a heavy duty case but no screen protector. Samsung can't tell me where to get the protector they supposedly make. I'm a long-time Samsung user and sadly disappointed.
