Best phone? Samsung screen, Google OS.

I was a Samsung loyal user (Galaxy S2, S3, S4, S5 and Note 4). All great phones, one big (at least for me) cavet. Samsung updates!! For this reason I stopped after the Note 4 and said I was not going back. Went to Nexus 5x then Nexus 6P. Great I LOVE pure Android. Unfortunately my Nexus 6P battery started to ran out fast (half a day), and phone would turn off at around 15% battery left. I so wanted the Google Pixel 2 XL, but after terrible review I wasn't in for a phone at that cost $ 1000 with such terrbile POLED display. Order it for then return it the next day. It didn't give me that wow factor. Then came Samsung Galaxy S9+. Lot's of improvment. I decided to give Samsung a change. After using S9+ for about 1 months, I ordered the Pixel 2 XL on ebay and switched back to 2XL. Love it. Yes screen isn't that great, not as fast in loading the widgets, but man all the rest, it's a better phone than S9+. FYI, I don't use FB, Instagram, or any other social medial on nay of my phone. Pros: screen. Wow beautiful. Awesome. Read "cons" for additional not like. Speed. Wow. loads widgets faster than Pixel 2XL. Memory card. Yes and no. I give yes for majority of the people. Love you remove the card, put into another phone and you got everything with you. For downside, read "cons". Speakers. Oh yes. Nexus 6P we ok. Pixel 2 XL are ok. This are nice, much better. 3.5mm audio jack. Band 71. IP68. Thought, I would not trust any company with it. Had a friend of mine with the Samsung Gear Fit 2 (IP67), he got water on it. Return for warranty, I was told warranty is voided because he went to deep. Well, found many complain on several post. For this reason, I don't trust company to honor. Cons: Screen. I really don't like curved screen. Unfortunatly, nowadays seems everyone is going that direction. don't like the feeling of the 18.5:9 ratio. I found this difficult to hold it with two hands when texting. This is the first cell phone I'm always afraid to drop it. Updates. Still back to point one. The S9 support Project Treble.?? So far still running 8.0. My Nexus 6P three yrs old, is running 8.1 Samsung messaging app. Seriously when I select a contact to text, I need to click on "start". SERIOUSLY!!? I switch to Google own msg app. Samsung touchwiz. Improved, never like it, find it cumbersome. I use Nova Launcher (even on Pixel 2XL). Integration with some apps (History Ereaser) not working well, but same up is working correctly with Pixel 2 XL. Memory MicroSD security issue! External memory card is not encrypted like the built in. That would be ok for majority of the end user. However, I want encryption. If you do enable encryption on the external card, than it'll be useless if you remove it and plug it into another phone, or connect it to your PC to load a movie or music, thus losing its purpose. Fingerprint better location than the S8, but got notification to clean camera lense more than once. Pictures. Don't like over saturated pics that all Samsung device make. This is no exception. It simply not real. Love how the Nexus 6P or the Pixel 2 XL take pics. Bixby. Don't like where the button is position. Samsung idea might heading to a good direction.

    Great phone but for $800+

Phone works great but coming from my $400 mid range phone the price is a little steep AR emoji is 100% gimmick very little effort went into that bixby woo no one cares let me use that button for my camera or anything else battery life is decent camera is really nice and the screen is beautiful Stereo speakers are nice you want to turn on dolby atmos its off by default. Don't get me wrong its a great phone it just feels a bit over priced, if it proves to stay strong and not just become worthless after a year and a half like some samsung phones it may be worth the price but only time will tell.

    Amazing Phone!

I owned a Galaxy S6 for almost 3 years so I didn't hesitate when switching to the s9+! This phone, after half a day of use, has been amazing. The screen is big and looks so HD, the phone is a good size, (only slightly bigger than my S6 so fits nicely into my hand), CAMERA IS GREAT! Honestly, it's so much better than the camera on the s6 so I am definitely impressed. I love all the features it comes with. The dual speakers are really cool as well and the sound is great! Honestly, I have no complaints about this phone so far and I've only had it for less than a day. Recommend putting a screen protector and case ASAP.

The Samsung is an incredibly fast phone. I moved over from an Apple iPhone. I like the fact that you have the flexibility to increase memory without buying a new phone. I also believe the double Ram gives you the ability to work with multiple apps without limiting speed and creating lockups. The battery lasts all day for me. Best buy did a great job merging apps, data, and backups over to the new Samsung S9 plus. Great experience.

    Consider me a Convert

I was in love with my Google Pixel phone. I thought it was the greatest phone ever. After two years, it started dying on me. I read reviews on the S9+ vs. the Google Pixel 3. I made the determination that I didn't need all the things that the Pixel 3 offered. Plus, the price difference was a couple hundred dollars. I figured I'd give the S9+ a try. I'm so glad I did. I LOVE it! I love the Bixby feature. I know it gets a lot of negative reviews. I think it's great. I have set up Quick Commands that are awesome. I highly advise you to do this. After some voice training, and learning my Southern-ese, Bixby does really well. The display and the sound are both great on this phone. I'm having some issues with trusted places. After reading a bunch of suggestions I realized I just have to add GPS coordinates from all around my house to keep my house as a trusted place. Just the address / one GPS coordinate does not work. After I did that, trusted places works really well. I love the customization features this phone has. I actually have a blank home screen now which is fabulous!!! Thanks Samsung. I'm sold and a true convert.

After 3 years with an S6 it was time for an upgrade. The screen is beautiful. The battery is still on original charge after a full day. Best Buy had a 128GB sim in sale for $49. Could not pass up. Plenty of space for everything now. I am hoping to keep this for another 3 years.

Have owned my S9+ from the beginning and it's my favorite device! I'll admit that I also have a 1+6T, iPhone SE and S8Active, gave the Pixel 3XL to wife... What is it about the S9+ that I like so much? Quickness, size (fits great for my size), rear fingerprint sensor, CAT 18 connection, microSD expansion, best band availabilities compared to other manufacturers excluding Apple.

Coming From An Older Iphone-Good But Not Great

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have an older iPhone 5s that has been working fine but it's just time to upgrade. My whole family has iPhones and I wanted to try something different. I love the screen on this Galaxy S9+. I was even okay with learning the whole new system of Android over IOS. Here's where the bad is with this phone for me. First, it connected to Bluetooth in my 2011 Lexus for phone calls but NOT for streaming audio. It says not compatible. That doesn't work for me as I like to stream my Apple Music in my car. Second, I took a nice video in 4K @ 60fps which looked decent on the Samsung (plenty of oversaturation which doesn't look realistic at all...video was very shaky and I tried keeping a steady hand but just not as nice a video as my son's iPhone X using the same settings). When I texted the video to him, it was so grainy it looked like a 320 quality video. I even emailed it and it looked sort of better but not great. I called Samsung support to answer a few questions about these issues and all they could tell me was to call Lexus for the compatibility issue and the video issue they had no answer for. Their customer phone support is useless. At least with Apple (and believe me I think Apple's quality of their products has gotten worse over the past couple of years) their customer support people are helpful and knowledgeable. I had problems trying to add my iCloud email account to the Samsung Galaxy phone and the guy from Samsung couldn't help me. He told me to call Apple. The people in the phone department were even more useless than the guy at Samsung customer support. I have 14 days to return this phone and YES I will be returning it. I'm going to get the iPhone X. I really wanted to like the Samsung phone and it looks great and feels solid. However, with the lack of support from Best Buy and Samsung and the issues I'm having I can't keep this phone. And, by the way, my son's iPhone X does pair audio just fine in my 2011 Lexus. Why can't Samsung make a new phone that works as well. I know Samsung's are known for over saturation of colors in their pictures and videos but it's so fake looking. And, the make an emoji from your picture feature is so creepy...I sent one and would never do that again. Terrible. Hope this review helps others thinking of making the switch as I tried to do from Apple. Stick with Apple is my advice.

    Better than the last models

1.The fingerprint sensor is fast and easy to reach so it's better than Galaxy S8 and Note 8. 2. It has Stereo speakers so it's better than all other Samsung phones. 3. It hasn't exploded yet so it's better than Note 7 :). But personally I still prefer the Note 8 design and size, so I'm going to use the S9+ until Note 9 is out.

I bought this to replace my S8+, and it was a great phone. This phone has all the wonderful features of my 8+ and more. It has a much better camera and sound. It also seems to be a little faster. It works well with my new S4 Tablet also. Samsung makes great products and this one of them.
