This is the best tablet for the price! You get alot for your money. This tablet kills the ipad mini. It has a faster processor, better camera, bigger screen, higher resolution so the screen is more brilliant and brighter. You can have widget's and get free music and on the apple ipad you cant, instead youre stuck with just icons and only two or three screens whereas on this tablet you can have I think up to 7 screens!. I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this product!

The Galaxy Tab 3 is my first tablet and I LOVE it!! It was very easy to set up and integration with my other Android and Google account was seamless. Simply log into Google on the Tab 3 and everything on your other Android product transfers over in minutes. It doesn't get much easier than that!!! The available free Samsung software and Android Apps made it easy to transfer over all of my iTunes music so my iPod Touch will be finding a new home. The screen is very clear, bright and at 8 inches, watching movies and videos is enjoyable. The sound quality from the speakers is surprisingly crisp, clear and loud; something that is not often found in small devices. The video recording quality is very good and the Tab 3 appears to have image stabilization software already built in. By adding a 64gb Micro SDXC card your capacity for storage is terrific. Having a standard USB cable interface also makes transferring data to and from the Tab 3 a breeze. I look forward to running this new tablet through the paces but so far performance is great.

Galaxy tab 3 is quality, can't put it down

Samsung knows quality. I have done my research before purchasing this tablet. I thought it may be slow from the reviews, but not at all. I am not sure what others are doing on their "tablet", but obviously it isn't made for that. Use you tablet as a tablet, not a computer. Even with that said, I push it to its limits with great performance. I do currency trading in the Forex market on this tablet, amazing. If you know anything about the horse power needed for charting, tools, rate updates and news feeds when trading the stock market, you will know what resources needed for it to run smoothly. Not sure what people think they need under the hood of a tablet, but it is not a gaming pc, not a mac pro, it is a tablet. Performance is excellent to me. Multi tasking is great, sound output, battery life, quick, responsive, and quality feel. I know samsung is known for their plastic back covers, but hold this tablet in your hands and tell me it doesn't feel like quality. If you want a metal build tablet like an ipad, then you will sacrifice weight. This tablet is so light, I would know. I traded in my ipad 2 for this tab 3. Much better, big upgrade. Let me also mention, 8 in screen size is the happy medium. For me 7 was just too small considering I use a note 2 phone, 10 in bigger than what I needed for portability and weight. 8 in is the perfect size for a tablet. Like I said, samsung knows quality and has prioritized that into this tab 3. Happy trading to all!

Review for the restless iPad user...

First I should say I am pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem. I have a Macbook Pro, iPod, iPhone 4s, iPad 2, and 2 Apple TVs. As such I have a lot of iTunes purchased music and a number of movies and TV shows. As much as I have enjoyed Apple products, I have been very tempted by the attractive recent Android based phones and tablets. I am ready to see some more hardware innovation from Apple, or to try something else. Enter the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. I purchased it a few days ago, and I must say there are a lot of things I like about it. The display is gorgeous, I like the flexibility of the onscreen widgets, the memory card slot (I added 64GB card), and the file manager. I also found that nearly all of the apps I am currently using on iOS are available on Android. The obvious exceptions are Apple apps like iWork, iLife apps, etc. I really tried to like this tablet. There were, however, some things I lost in the transition from iOS to the Galaxy Tab that I just could not live with. 1. There is no replacement for iMessage. Yes, there are some similar apps on the Android side, but none that do not require all your friends and family to download and install apps to their phone. There is also no way to message people's phones from your desktop like iMessage does. I use that a lot. 2. There is no elegant, easy way to transition from iTunes to Google Play (or any other Android music player). Yes, you can get your music onto the device, but you lose meta data such as your personal preferences and playlists. A bigger problem is the fact that you can do nothing with any movies you've purchased (short of buying software to "rip" movies from disks, or converting iTunes purchased movies. Lots of trouble. 3. Google play is no match for iTunes at all (IMO). Music and movie purchases can only be played on Google Play. And if you download the movie to your device for offline viewing, it can only be stored in the devices main memory (only 16GB). It can't be moved to the 64GB memory card I bought. In fact, a lot of things work that way, which nullifies a lot of the reason for even having SD storage. You can't play movies purchased through Amazon on this device (I love Amazon Prime). Only Google Play. Anyway, your mileage will vary. I really like the device over all. I love the form factor, the display, and potential for customization. But, in the end I decided there were too many compromises I would have to make, so back to the store it went. I wanted to post this review for those who, like me, are long time Apple products users, but are curious about other products and wondering if a change is the best option. Hope it helps.

This Is Exactly What I Was Looking For In A Tablet

This tablet has every feature that someone could want in a slate PC. The 1.5ghz processor works perfectly with the 1.5 GB of ram. It is perfect for multitasking, games, watching videos while traveling and the 8 inch screen is a plus for those who don't want something as small as the 7 inch tablets and don't need a larger 10 inch model. This tablet comes with the multi-screen feature that allows you to view two apps at once. This is a HUGE plus in the table world. The keyboard has the text to writing feature similar to the Galaxy Note 8.0 and I love the sleek feel of the device as it is really thin and it displays content in full 1080p HD. I wish there were more accessories available but I love it so much that I don't mind at the moment. I did buy the Geek Squad Protection as a precaution because it's worth it to protect my $299.99 investment.

i went to best buy planning to get an ipad $329, or the cheaper samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 inches $299. if i decided on smaller tablet, it has to be a google nexus 7 $226. when i arrive there, i went straight to google nexus 7. when i looked at it, not impressive, too small. i tried playing with it, it's hard to navigate. so i went to ipad. play with it, normal. when i went to the samsung displays, the samsung galaxy tab 3 7 inch is too small. i looked at samsung galaxy 3 8 i like it. but i didn't decide yet. i looked at the 10 inches tablet, way too big and heavy for me to carry around. i went back to samsung galaxy 3 tab 8 inches, play with it, and i really like it. the expandable memory slot is perfect. its fast, the screen resolution is nice. i hold it in my hands and perfect to carry around. so i bought it. everything is perfect, it easy to set up, all my apps and pictures were transferred, easy to navigate, still at my price of $300. i love my tablet. i recommend it to everybody.

    Not bad

Overall, im pretty happy with this tablet. I love the screen size, the quality build, the fact that its really light, and I love android, but sometimes the tablet lags when rotating the screen, which is just a little irritating. Not only that, but it takes a while when updating and downloading apps from the play store. Also, sometimes i accidentally click buttons when surfing the web since the sides are smaller, and when you hold the device in landscape position, its difficult to watch movies because your hand muffles the speaker and sometimes presses the home button or one of the capacitive buttons. These issues are just really small ones, so i can get over it, but it just makes me wonder if I shouldve just paid a little more and got the iPad mini. Overall, not bad for 250.00, but if you want something faster, pay a little more and go for the iPad mini, or if you just surf the web a little, watch a few youtube videos, and play a few games this tablet is perfect for you.

I purchased this tablet about 9 months ago and wanted to use it a while before reviewing. I have been extremely pleased with it. It is small enough to carry in my purse, but large enough to do what I need to. I have not had any problems with it at all. I would recommend it to anyone.

I had already been using the Samsung phone so adding this to my life was easy. The size fits right into my hand. When travelling I was watching Netflix. Great tablet to have for a great price. I love that the memory can be expanded, unlike the apple products.

An excellent tablet with one signifcant flaw

I got this tablet and LOVE it! It was a huge improvement over the Nook HD+ and Nexus 7 tablets I had bought previously. Apps run very quickly, lots of memory which is expandable with microSD card, and the screen is fantastic! Over time, however, while using the tablet as a eBook reader (primary use for which it was purchased) I noticed that while holding the tablet in portrait orientation, it is MASSIVELY easy to accidentally hit the back key. The key is far too large and far too sensitive for using the tablet as a portrait device. it's the ONLY flaw in an otherwise excellent device. I was a bit leery of the Intel Atom processor, but my fears were unfounded. The vast majority of the apps I wanted to use are available, and speed has not been an issue at all.

    Great 8" tablet

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For me, 10" tablets are too big and 7" tablets are too small. There isn't near as much competition in the 8" space, but Samsung definitely has a winner here, I believe. Screen size is perfect and I can hold it in one hand comfortably. The battery life is fine...average for an Android tablet. The screen performs very well and the speed of the tablet seems great. The only thing I wish it had was a flash for the rear camera, but even that isn't a huge deal to me. I also think it should be priced about $30 less, but all-in-all this is a great tablet and I would recommend it to anyone.

This tablet still runs pretty well for being a few years old and having a dual core processor. Price is a little high but since it's no longer in production, it makes sense. This tablet is excellent for basic internet browsing, emailing and light gaming and it has an excellent build quality.

I really like my Tab 3 8.0. It's my first tablet. I had no problem learning how to use it. The size is great. Not too big, I have small hands. Not too small, I can read everything on the screen. I would've liked a little more instructions. I like that it fits easily into my purse. I am having problems finding accessories, like screen savers for this model, but I did find a case on Amazon.

The galaxy tab 3 8.0 is perfect. Do not go for the 7in nor the 10in. If planning to get the 7in, my advice is get the Nexus 7. If planning to get the 10, might as well get the note 10. Anyways, this is the only tablet that offers slim frame around the screen. easy to hold with one hand. the iPad mini is a bit fatter to hold and a bit too tight to hold on one hand. This is perfect. My only complain is it has mid range specs. It is fine for basic computing like checking facebook, emails, youtube and docs. Stay away from this tablet if planning to play heavy 3D games. No root and no accessories just yet (bummer). Overall, this is a fine tablet.

If you own a Galaxy S4, or similar, then you will know how to use this tablet. it is stylish and easy to use. If you are looking for a tablet to use for Public Speaking, Media, Games, Books...etc...this is the perfect size tablet for you. Also, I enjoy using the built in universal remote...as well as many other useful features. Great tablet, at a great price (currently $269).

This is a good tablet with a good quality screen. Perfect size for a tablet and i have not had any hardware issues. The only problem is the warranty I purchased from Best Buy is worthless. The battery is going bad and its only 6 months old. I brought it to geek Squad and they downloaded their app and told me the operating system update is causing my battery problem and just wait until there is another update to fix it. The customer service over the phone has been zero help , so its like talking to a brick wall. I won't drive myself nuts because my i pad works fine. In the future I will be hesitant to buy from them.
