Good tablet for kids
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tab 3 8.0 for my daughter's birthday and its a good tablet, so easy to use. Its lightweight and camera quality is ok, the only thing I don't like about it is the sometimes the touch screen response time is slow when you touch it. Other than that it's good for it's price.

great tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we were new to the table world. Did a little research and purchased the samsung galaxy tab 3.0, The 7" screen size works for us, its easy to carry in a pocketbook or with you as it's not too big and has worked really well for us.

EXCELLENT TABLET FOR EVERYONE! Great features!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" and sold it only to upgrade to the Galaxy Tab 3. I wanted the Tab 3 mainly for the Peel Smart Remote app that controls any TV, receiver, blu-ray or DVD player. I really love that it has a TV guide included as well. Even using over the air channels, it lists the current programming on the tablet and it looks and feels similar to selecting a show to watch on the Netflix app. The next part that really drew me to this tablet was the split screen capabilities, it's great for multitasking without switching between apps. I've had this tablet for two days now and have not found anything I don't love about it. I'll update if I do in the future. Also, the battery life on this tablet is superb!

best I've owned so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this tablet. I have Ipad2 with 16gb and this is superior by far. Lots of apps available. Playstore movies and music less expensive than ITunes. 16gb internal memory + 64gb SD card blows Apple away. Love Samsung apps for interfacing with my TV and other electronics. Do not miss Ipad at all. Great compact for travelling on plane!

For Fun & Etc.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I would always love apple products (i.e. - iPod and was considering the iPad but wayyy tooo expensive), but since my husband introduced me to the Samsung Galaxy Phone as an anniversary gift, I immediately got hooked and wanted the Galaxy Tablet. I only thought to need it for my jw.org app, but I have since put a couple of games and use it as my primary internet source since everyone in our house occupies the computer (which is alright with me). I love the ease of web surfing and being able to do my daily bible reading as well as playing Candy Crush. Now my husband and mother-in-law are hooked and want one for themselves LOL!! I love my tablet and would not give it up for anything in the world. Looking for more cases in different colors so that's next on my list.

Great tablet but a bit slow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a great tablet, good cameras, nice display but could be better. Still mad of all plastic and same touch wiz that's been being used for 2 years. If you want a good tablet with a cheep price grab this but if I could so it again I would go for the note 8.0.

Perfect size Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tablet. The screen is vibrant and connects quickly. Samsung got rid of the proprietary cable and now uses a more universal cable. Watching Netflix is great and I like the fact I can use either a bluetooth or usb run keyboad. It's battery life is ok. I sold my iPad mini for this tablet. It has a better screen and more flexibility for downloading apps. I'm almost exclusively Samsung now: HDTV, tablet, and phone.I have never been disappointed in Samsung products.

User friendly!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased my Galaxy Tab 3 yesterday and I LOVE it! I had been waffling for a year between a tablet and a Kindle product and once I picked the Galaxy Tab up at my Best Buy store and played around with it for a few minutes I was sold! I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and love it, so the transition to this tablet has been quick and seamless. The display is beautiful, the processing speed is excellent and I love the extensive variety of apps available. I am thrilled with my purchase!

Love my tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tablet. It is just the right size to stream tv. Has google play store. Some free apps. The tablet is just like a smart phone minus the calling feature. Samsung helped me configure this tablet via phone. Tablet can be used to stream things on to a smart tv.

Great tablet for high school
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this tablet and I have loved it since the first day, the keyboard feature is good and the graphics quality is excellent, the Samsung touch whiz is really good, a pity I can't root the tab 3, I can't add more shortcuts to the lock screen and it gets thru 8 hrs of school... Take screenshots by holding the power button and the middle button at the same time

Great tablet for a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great tablet. I couldn't decide between this one and the iPad mini. I have the Galaxy S3 so I decided to stick with Samsung. I'm glad I did. Apple products are all the same and a bit plain and boring. The Galaxy Tab 3 is an all around better tablet. It has a lot of features and apps available for download. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Added features don't make up for a slow device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perhaps my unit was a lemon, but I can only speak from my experience. This is coming from a PC-owner (an HP laptop running on Windows 8, jumping to this from XP), and an iPod Touch 4(first and only Apple product) owner. So, setting up a device under different types of platforms is not a completely new concept to me (though I'll admit, I'm no expert). However, family and friends usually come to ME for help when they have computer tech issues. I was pushed into purchasing the Galaxy instead of the Kindle Fire HDX 7" at a local store by a rep for Samsung working inside said store. I should have sensed a problem because the first time I went into the store after Christmas, the Samsung reps were swarming over the tablet section pushing their product over the Kindles, iPads, and Google Nexus tabs. (They get a commission, and each claims to own a Samsung tablet with which they are thrilled, which I suspect they get for a deep discount. It makes sense they are less than objective.) So sadly, I caved from my original intention when I entered the store, and came home with the Galaxy. (As a side note: I've noticed the bad reviews on this device are getting a "not helpful" vote on them, which makes me suspect many votes are from Samsung reps who are working on commission, based on the attitudes and behaviors of the reps I saw in the electronics store.) I regretted my purchase within an hour of turning it on, setting it up, and starting to download apps when I got home. The download time was slower than molasses even with my broadband WiFi connection, and the interface was cluttered and confusing on the tablet. Trying to group apps into folders was confusing at best. For those people who would say I just didn't get used to Android because Apple had "spoiled" me, let me say that the Kindle uses Android, but Amazon makes the setup process and UI much easier to navigate. Perhaps Android could take some lessons from both Amazon and Apple. Physically, I'd also say that owning a case for this is a MUST. It's way too thin to hold comfortably, the back is slick and tends to heat up on one side too much while charging, which can cause your hands to sweat and have a moist and slippery environment with your equipment (not a good combo at all for electronic devices that you want to last). I also found this device uncomfortable to hold in one hand because of its size. The weight is distributed across the device such that holding with one hand can be difficult, and would especially be for anyone with small hands. Let me give some positives on the device, which had convinced me to buy it over the Kindle to start with: 1. Expandable memory with MicroSD card. 2. Multi-window App Accessibility.... (NOTE: It only works with CERTAIN pre-installed apps on the device, NOT every app you install. This was not revealed by the rep who sold the device to me. I thought it worked with everything, much like my split-screen functionality of my Windows 8 laptop.) 3. Screen-mirroring (which could only be used with purchase of addtional $70 device to hook up to TV, etc.) 4. 5MP rear camera However, all the great features in the world don't mean squat if you can't get the equipment to work. When you can't download apps because they are loading at a snail's pace, and when you try YouTube and Netflix to have them buffer every 10 seconds (tried even at 2AM, when no one else was using our Internet connection), it's clear you have a slow piece of overpriced electronic equipment. It took deleting all but 3 apps on the tablet to get YouTube to even work without immediately buffering. Multi-tasking on this device is difficult because of the processor speed. It doesn't run other apps well if you are downloading something in the background. It simply doesn't have the processor speed or RAM to support it, so don't expect to download an app in the background while trying to play a game. It won't be pretty. So great was my frustration that I returned it to the store within 24 hours and bought what I had originally intended to get in the first place for $70 less... the Kindle Fire HDX 7" (purchased on sale for $199). My experience with the Kindle has been like day versus night in comparison to the Galaxy with setup and UI. The speed outshines Samsung by miles (compare a 2.2GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM in the Kindle HDX to a 1.5GHz dual-core and 1.5GB RAM in the Galaxy, and you will notice a HUGE difference). I have had the Kindle for 3 days now, and have not had a problem yet. Based on my experience, in my opinion, Samsung should stick to producing TVs and BluRay players and stay out of the tablet business. If you want a user-friendly tablet that is comparable in price, go with the Kindle Fire HDX. If your money grows on trees and price is no object, splurge and go with the iPad Mini.

Great Buy Worth every dollar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first tablet I have ever bought. I have only had it for a day and I already love it. It is simple to use and with samsung smart switch I can easily transfer music from my ipod backup to my tablet. The only thing I wish that it had was support for samsung kies. I am able to restore my apps from my samsung galaxy s4 backup

Great Tablet / Back Button a Pain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this device for use in the bedroom. Serves as an All-in-one controller for the ATV, TV, DVD, COMCAST, SAMSUNG Sound Bar etc. While still connected to email and FB. The back button is a sensor that can be triggered by accident. So much so that I rotate the device to put the button at the top. This avoids false back events. While this sounds a bit extreme, you get use to it in a day or two. If there was more real estate or the back button was on the display like a Nexus, I would given it a 5 star rating.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my 1st tablet. I researched tablets for the prev 6 months, I ordered it based on mainly good reviews &the fact that it had expandable storage. OMG, this tablet does everything that was written and SO much more. I love it, and I am still finding out new things -- I have had it just 1 year. The galaxy 4 has slight upgrade, but not enough for me to want to get rid this one. It is not lightening fast, so if you can't stand to wait more than 30 to 45 seconds for it to start up, this is not for you. Some programs take longer to open than others, but I believe that is the app rather than the tablet. Definately more intuitive and easier to navigate than the Surface Pro.

Great tablet, but had to return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet as a gift for someone who needed language other than English. Turned out this language only supports 9 languages. Called tech support to find out more and they told me I should call Google. Don't know why they don't know enough about their own product. Had to return it and get Nexus 7 which not only has latest operating system version, also has long range of languages to choose from, not to mention quad core processor which flies.
