Great Starter tablet for young kids who want technology for the road or long drives not the biggest of memory but a good distraction. Compared to tablets designed for kids this has a better processor and gives them streaming if you have it. Worth it I'd say. after all this time still running strong

Very sturdy. Never had any problems over the 7 years of heavy usage.

This is a great improvement on tablets I've used previously. It lacks nothing in speed or visual clarity. Battery life is superb, allowing me to watch movies comfortably for 24+ hours without having the think about recharging (I fly frequently, so this is very nice).

I just returned my one week old Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 16GB WiFi. The tablet had an excellent screen, was fast, had great battery life, and its size was easy to hold. It would have been a 5-Star device if it didn't crash so frequently. On several occasions after crashing, it booted up to tell me that "verification failed" or such, and I had to erase everything and reset the tablet, then go through the entire setup process again. I Googled to see many other owners had the same crashing issue. I performed several resets intentionally, but nothing fixed frequent crashing and the need to reboot. I returned the tablet today. Sad because I really liked the way it performed. Samsung created a lemon with that thing. I should mention that Best Buy's customer service was excellent and I had no problem returning this defective item.

So far so good, snappy and responsive and meets my needs for kid's mode, streaming, book reading, shopping, web browsing, and occasional office/productivity usage. Updated to Android 7 as of summer 2017, I think. Samsung's flavor of Android closes out background apps to save the battery and it really works. Internal storage is a little low, but so what? I didn't get this for gaming where each game might eat several GB of storage and an SD Card meets my needs. Also, since Android 6 you can format SD Cards to be recognized as "internal storage" as a work around if you really need it. I had a bad experience with a budget tablet recently, and I don't need a $500+ tablet either so the Tab A splits the difference in a really nice way. I would highly recommend this tablet as a mid-range option for price and features.

Bought the Samsung tablet for my wife for Christmas and she was very pleased she will not put it down ! Great picture quality and very fast the price was right on and very easy to work with My wife said it's the best gift she got Thanks !!!

This is a great product for the price, I have never had a single issue with it. It runs fast while streaming videos, never freezes or slows down. It's been very dependable. Holds a charge surprisingly long.

I bought two of these tablets for $229 each right after Christmas. I wanted an iPad at first but two of these were actually less expensive than the single iPad. Very good screen, quick CPU and enough RAM (2GB) to handle most everyday tasks and applications. It's a bit heavy so I would recommend a folio style case to keep it protected and also a quick charger because the huge battery takes forever to charge. The battery is probably the only weak spot on this tab. It's huge so it takes quite some time to charge and from my experience so far, the battery life is not very exceptional. Besides the battery, my only other complaint about this tab is that the "back" and "previous screen" "buttons" are not illuminated. Just silver paint. That's pretty cheap on Samsung's part.

For a sub-$200 10" tablet you get enough. It is light, easy to add a micro-SD and add whatever extra space you need. It looks decent and while it is not as zippy as a newer android tablet it does everything those can and looks good for half the cost!

So far, this is the best tablet I have ever owned. No, it's not the most expensive tablet Samsung makes, nor is it the tablet with the best specs. But if you are looking for a mid-price range tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (the 2016 edition) is simply fantastic. It's not perfect, it could certainly use more internal storage (32GB would have been more appropriate than the 16GB it does include), that's really about the only complaint I have with it. If you want a great performing tablet, but can't afford to spend a fortune, consider the Tab A, it packs quite a punch for only $300. I have owned my Tab A for about 8-9 months now, and its never given me any reason to want to replace it.

I purchased this tablet to use at home and at work. I wanted a good quality tablet that I could use to edit excel and word files as well as one that could stream media and play videos. It's very responsive and does everything I hoped it could and more. I'm very happy with it. I was disappointed to find that two weeks after I purchased it the price was lowered by $70 but when I called Best Buy about it they still had their price match guarantee on it and were more than happy to give me a credit for the difference. I saw the credit hit my account in less than an hour. For that reason alone, I'll be back! Great product, great customer service. Thank you!

Samsung tablet works great and Camera picture looks Clear...in I like new Samsung produced...

This is a fantastic tablet. It is very responsive and easy to setup. The batter life is awesome. I played music all day and the battery was at 89%. Accompanied with the logitech Bluetooth keyboard this rivals most low end laptops. Having the linux OS also make it wonderful to use. I can write Python, Node, and C Applications write on the table. Very cool. Surfing the web and playing movies works perfectly.

I have owned my Tab A with S pen for a long time now. it has performed above and beyond. i have managed to keep it in perfect condition despite how much i've used it. i am looking forward to upgrading, however, to the Galaxy Tab 4!! It is just perfect for my home business!! I've been a fan of Samsung products for YEARS. Now, to save up for my upgrade!!!

Back in 2016 when this came out it was a fantastic tablet for what I needed it for. 2 GB of RAM was plenty and if needed you could add an SD card to increase storage. I miss the good old days

Why is this product not recalled there are many complaints with this model. Best buy is getting a bad name for continuing to sell these things. I got mine in Feb 2017 and by June of 2017 the thing would not come on. I went back to the same best buy that it was purchased at and was told without a receipt they could not help. It was a gift from my cousin who lives in a different state so there is no way she can come to prove the purchase with her credit card. My question is if they know they will not help without a receipt why is this not provided for every tablet bought. when we bought these dam things the cashier gave out one receipt. It is important for all tabs to get a receipt since they will not help without it right. I just can't believe that knowing that the defective device was purchased less than 6 months prior, that best buy has no solution for this. Disgraceful for a billion dollar company I will never purchase anything from this company again Best buy nor Samsung. Both companies know that there is a problem but refuse to do anything about it. I can't believe the reviews here on this site because if you search Samsung complaints on the Tab A you will find many people having the same issue with this defective device. Best buy should really do something about this since they are selling something they know will not work within 6 months to a year if it makes it the entire year.

Folks, this is an amazing device, at an amazing price. I am so impressed with the technology Samsung offered me at this price. I have some issues with the Android System. But not with the device. Highly recommended. Also recommend some larger case for the device so that you do not unintentionally bang against the touch screen and send unwanted signals. Speaker placement, as has been said by other professional reviewers, it suboptimal. All in all, an amazing value; amazing technology. Do not let other reviewers convince you otherwise.

For some reason, which I could never resolve. This table will not allow you to use the DJI app and later the Litchi app. I had to do a factory reset several times. The screen resolution and speed were great, but I need to use both apps. If you are a dji drone piltot I do not recommend this tablet unless you are happy just using one app. And before you ask: no it will not give you "a one time choice" when using the apps. It sets which ever app you open first as defaut and you cannot use the other usless you do a factory reset. And yes, I went into the settings and set that there will be no defaults... still defaulted which ever app you opened first, the only way I found to clear the default was to do a factory reset, and let's face it, I am not going to do that every time I switch apps.. So, I returned it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tablet A (10.1") - 16GB is turning out to be an excellent choice. The tablet is powerful, versatile, and user friendly. Best Buy price-matched other stores, and I ended up saving almost $100 off its usual selling price!
