    Will not stay on

    I have always loved my samsung products, but have been a little warry about them with all the problems they have recently had. I went ahead and purchased this tablet for school since it can be a good reader and microsoft office tablet. When I turned it on the first time I entered in my language and put in my wifi password and it just shut off and came back on and shut off and came back on. It did that 4 times until I just held the power button in to have it stay off. I turned it back on again and it came on fine. I finished the setup and used it for about 10 mins and it started shutting off and back on again. I really wanted to give samsung another chance, but it will be quite some time before I purchase another samsung item. I don't know if they got a new CEO that is changing things up or what, I just do not trust their products like I use to. I will be returning this product the same day I bought it.

    Beware of Geek Squad protection

    The tablet is great - but Geek Squad does no diagnostics or repairs in the store - they send the tablet out for three weeks to Samsung - which was NOT how the protection plan was represented to me when I bought the tablet at Best Buy - took it in this week for new battery (covered under plan) and was told to expect a 3 week wait

    Look at it in person

    It was a toss up to either buy the 10.1 or last year's 9.7 for my son. Be advised that although the 10.1 is mathematically a larger number, the screen is much narrower and longer. It looks really odd in person. It looks like my Tab S 10.5 in length but much, much narrower. It seems to be setup as a eReader. I bought the 10.1 without seeing it. If I was doing it all over, I'd buy a 9.7 for him.

    I am not impressed. When I went to set up the tablet, I kept having to lay it on a flat surface so the darn keyboard would work. Normal people use a phone or tablet in a variety of places and situations and shouldn't have to lay it on a flat surface to get it to work. I went to watch N*tflix. After trying at least a dozen times to get the movie to play, having the show start at the beginning (my other tablets are sensible enough to pick up where I left off), then at the slightest accidental touch the movie is reduced to a one inch size in the lower right hand corner or gone and I have to reload it all over again. I gave up and put the darn thing away. If this tablet does not improve drastically, I am going to return the darn thing. I find it hard to believe that the tablet is actually 10.1 inches (my other tablet it bigger and is 10.1 inches.) I suspect tablet manufactures of being like clothing companies and that they are made in vanity sizes.

    Nothing but trouble

    Let me start by saying I love Samsung products. I have a Galaxy Tab 2 that has been a steady performer but is no longer supported, and have had great results with their smartphones. My wife has the 2015 tab A without issues. My 2016 tablet has been a nightmare. I don't know if there is a bad batch out there but I'm about to return my third one that either goes into a spiral of restarts about an hour after initial startup, or won't take a charge and then won't turn on. This is not the quality I have come to expect from Samsung and just might force me to look more seriously at the Apple offerings.

    Not Happy

    I've had my Samsung TabS for 18 months. While still under warranty I had an issue with the tablet. I was instructed to send it to their repair facility. I did this twice and was told the facility could not duplicate the problem I had, which is ridiculous because it is so obvious. Now the warranty is expired and the tablet continually freezes and doesn't respond to anything. I am now in the process of restoring factory settings for the 4th time since I've owned this tablet. Furthermore, Samsung customer service is non-existent. Their reps are rude and couldn't care less about the issue one has with their product. I will never, ever buy another Samsung product again.

    Tablet Doesn't Work

    This is the second Tab A that I've purchased. The first was from another retailer which was returned because it kept shutting off until it wouldn't start at all. The reviews from Best Buy were much better so we repurchased from them. We had the tablet two days and it started doing the same thing. This one will be going back too. I had talked to the Samsumg rep in the store before purchasing and have taken it back once, talked to the Best Buy employee, the Samsung rep and the Geek Squad. The Samsung rep completely dismissed my concern. Made some adjustment to the brightness and said to keep it. The tablet is now to the place where it won't start again. Even though the sales people say these tablets work, I've now found more reviews - some on the Samsung site directly- that are reporting the same issue. Not sure I'll repurchase Samsung again any time soon.

    Disappointed! Returning this tablet!

    I don't understand all these wonderful reviews but this is my second try at trying to post a negative review... just saying! The speakers are on the edge of the tablet on the bottom if you are holding the tablet upright (portrait). If you rest the tablet on your chest it muffles the speakers. If you use the tablet horizontally (landscape) the effect is the feeling that a speaker is out because the sound only comes from one side. The s pen only made fat lines. It did not adjust down to make the thin lines like on the demo. Yes it was adjustable, just not as much as on the demo. Resting your hand on the tablet while using the S pen caused the tablet to do all kinds of crazy stuff intermittently (not all the time). The picture quality is supposed to be "up to 1920x1080" and the store demo was fantastic! The picture on the tablet I got was washed out and not as good as the 1280x800 resolution on my old tablet that I'm used to looking at. Yes, I tried going into settings to adjust it. Returning it.

    Poor Warranty Service

    I purchased the Tab A 10.1 online from Best Buy in November. Since receiving it, the Smart Typing (Spell Check, Predictive Typing, etc) has not worked. All of them are turned on. I went to the Naples store a couple of time to see if there was a simple explanation. I was pretty much met with indifference. I spent a great deal of time on the phone with Samsung customer service to no avail. They eventually had me ship the tablet to NJ for repair. I got it back today and it still does not work. There is no indication on the repair statement that there was any attempt to fix the smart typing.

    I got this tablet be I'm a fan of Samsung. I decided to buy one because I needed something as a backup in case my laptop stopped working, however it seems that plan when out the window because my tablet likes to shut off on its own. I've owned this for about a week and I will be returning because every time I think the glitch is resolved and it won't do it again.....it does. I've been reading blogs and reviews and apparently there's a lot of people that have similar issues. It is odd, because I've had ZERO issues with my Samsung phone.

    Graphics don't rotate when you turn the tablet

    The graphics will not rotate when you spin the tablet. I have to shake it a few times before it will rotate other than that the graphics are great and the speed is wonderful I'm going to return it and hope they have one that works I've had it for about 4 days now

    This tablet does not have a compass function. I have installed numerous apps that will not function because of the lack of a compass. It has a GPS so you would think a compass would have been standard. Some web site say one is included but I contacted Samsung and they verified it does not.

    Was nice when it worked. 3 years almost to the day I purchased, it clunked out. Watching a Comcast DVR recording, the lock screen comes on and never goes out. Battery dies. It takes 3 attempts to get it to charge. Try a factory restore says it downloading for over 8 hours until the battery dies again. I'm done with it. Didn't use it enough in the 3 year period for it to die this soon.

    Worked well for 1 1/2 years, then the battery quit completely. Best Buy will not replace it and Batteries Plus does not carry the battery. Such a waste and all my data is stuck on it...

    It broke after two months and I sent it back for repair. After many back and forth with Samsung Support for more than one month I was told it couldn't be repaired and someone would contact me about sending me a replacement, and I have been waiting for weeks.Good product when it was working, and the support is poor. I was told a repair would take two weeks, but this is not the case.
