It worked as expected on Android 10. It also works on a different device with Android 12. We've bought 3 Tab A (2019) in the past 3 months to do troubleshooting. Our app developers, firmware engineer, and testing team have spent almost 40 hours trying to debug this. We also spent several hours on the phone with Samsung support (not helpful). We added a banner to our website that asks people to contact us if their host device is running on Android 11 before they purchase our product. This has been a nightmare for us.

Why would Samsung downgrade the newer version to a micro-USB port? The 2017 model uses USB-C, which is convenient since all Samsung Galaxy phones past 2 years have USB-C. No way I can have two tablets that look similar having different chargers, plus our phones use Type-C so it was always convenient to have any charger handy. My second complaint is they got rid of the Home button. If Samsung had shrunk the bezel as a result I'd still question it, but they left the bezel exactly the same yet with no button! What's the point in looking at a blank slate? My kids love the home button because it's easier to get out of apps rather than swiping up from the button to find the software keys. This is a fail. I ended up returning and buying an open box 2017 model for $20 more. It's worth it!
