It's okay but what you pay for is what you get

Just got it this afternoon. It's a pretty great product. I can say so myself because I honestly never owned something this expensive and I have never experienced any expensive products. The wifi and processor work great. However, there are a couple flaws. - the touch sensivitivity is sometimes unresponsive. I can't use a normal rubber stylus on this. There is no touch sensitivity on this. -you have 8 GB of storage. However, that's already wasted by any apps that aren't necessary, so now you have 2 GB left which sucks already. The SD card you can use, but half the time the apps cannot transfer onto the SD card. -charging takes a while. Like, more than 7 hours worth. I depleted it to zero percent and left it charging but the charger was so weak in my extension cord that I had to transfer it over to my outlet, but it's still doing bad. My S5 charges within half an hour but with this, you have to be extremely patient with. So yeah, this tablet is mostly for little kids. Very beautiful display and small enougb to take it wherever you're going. I'm hoping to use this to take to college and download any textbooks but so far, I don't recommend it if you're going to use this for apps. Just save up your money for something worth buying.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7" Does The Job

This tablet has the usual high Samsung quality, in an easy to manage size. It even has a built in radio tuner, and you can save your favorite channels as presets. The memory is only 8gb but it can be expanded by an insertable flash card. I bought it on clearance at Best Buy for $59.99 so that's a lot of bang for your buck!

    Samsung 7 inch tab

I bought this for using as a screen for my drone because I felt that smart phones were just to small to use. Overall I feel that this is a good tablet and is much better then my older 10 inch tablet and faster.

    Great tab for the price

Replaced my old 7" Nexus which I dropped. This is lighter, has bright screen and many features. Memory at 8 gb is small and requires a memory card. Easy to install and use foreign language on the keyboard. Love the keyboard and screen is stable (doesn't rotate all the time). Disappointed that it doesn't have a mirror image for TV and have to install 3rd party software. Still cannot connect my Samsung TV to this tab. Overall it is a great tab. Cover is not available yet for this new product.

Could be great if not for bloatware!

I mainly bought this tablet to use as a streaming remote for music and TV. Thanks to an insane amount of Samsung Bloatware, there is not a lot of room to add additional apps. I bought a 32 GB SD card thinking this would fix the problem but for whatever reason, very few apps are movable. The size of this tablet is great, love the screen resolution but the lack of storage is a major issue. HEY SAMSUNG I'M A 51 YEAR OLD MAN, CAN YOU PLEASE ALLOW ME TO UNINSTALL SAMSUNG KIDS!!!

Less features than the Tab 4

Been using a Tab 4 7.0 for a while now as a general use tablet just to surf the web, reply to texts and stuff like that when I didn't want to use or was charging my Note 3. Figured let me upgrade it now since the new Tab A models are out. Stuck with the 7.0" because I like the size, easy to hold in one hand and just easy to use sitting on the couch without being cumbersome. Now I'm not sure if the Tab A is supposed to be an upgrade to the Tab 4 but at around the same price point I assumed it could be..so i'm basing my review on comparing the two as if the Tab A is a newer "upgrade" to the Tab 4. If I'm incorrect then oh well. First thing I did was test the Tab 4 and Tab A using the Antutu benchmark app. Tab A ended up with a score of around 22,500. A nice little bump from the Tab 4's 17,500 score. Using both though, i didn't really notice any speed difference while opening apps, sliding through app pages or browsing the web. One of the first things I noticed was that the Tab A's screen turns a little darker at angles vs the Tab 4. Sitting on a bar stool and having both Tabs in front of me on the counter, the Tab 4's screen was brighter at the viewing angle I was at. Not that huge a deal but immediately noticed it as I did some web browsing with the Tab A and then compared to Tab 4. They also took away the IR blaster. Not the deal breaker but yet another feature gone. Tab 4 has been out for awhile now and can be rooted. Tab A is new and no root available for it yet...if you're into rooting. My biggest complaint is when I went to test the wifi. Went to connect to my wifi and noticed my 5Ghz band wasn't showing up like it would on my Tab 4. Did some more research and found out that the old Tab 4 supports a/b/g/n 2.4/5Ghz bands and the new Tab A only supports b/g/n 2.4Ghz. Huge disappointment for me. The loss in speed is apparent as I tried downloading a couple apps and noticed the Tab 4 was downloading them a lot faster. Ran some SpeedTests on both. The Tab 4 in 2.4Ghz band consistently reached almost max speeds that I pay for...58 down/3 up. Did the same test using 2.4Ghz wifi on the Tab A. Ran it about 4 times and each time I would max out at only 18-27 down/3 up. Call me a nerd but that's unacceptable to me. So aside from the better benchmark number, a nicer body design in my opinion and an updated Android OS, the jump from a 1.2Ghz cpu to a 1.3Ghz cpu is unnoticeable by me using both Tabs. The lack of brightness compared to the Tab 4 at the same viewing angles is also disappointing. But the huge wifi downgrade is the deal breaker for me. I'm probably being a little dramatic about it but when I buy a new updated device, I expect it to match or best the features of the last model...not downgrade from it. I'll be returning the Tab A and just continue using my Tab 4. Just so I don't sound like a complete crybaby about it, i do like the updated tablet design. Samsung ditched the chrome frame with a black frame now. I was getting tired of Android 4.2.1 and like the look of Android 5.1.1. While the screen isn't the highest resolution, its still nice to look at for general usage vs the even cheaper tablets like the Tab E. If you have a Tab 4 7.0 already, don't waste your money "upgrading" to a Tab A 7.0. If you're in the market for a 7" Samsung tablet...go for the Tab 4. If I never had a Tab 4 to compare this too then I probably would have been happy with it...but comparing the two, just not happy with the purchase.

great little tablet FAR better than Kindle Fire 7

I bought this after getting the kindle fire 7 from Amazon. The fire was slow, sluggish and could not even scroll through facebook without stuttering or simply play candy crush without slowing down. This tablet is great. for just a little more money you get such a better product. there is no slowdown whatsoever ever and build quality is great. 8 GB might be a little low for installing apps but the memory is expandable with a microSD card. Haven't tried to load apps on the SD card but this is great and perfect for what I need it for.

I have seen this add on the Best Buy portal just before the day of Thanksgiving and thought of giving it a try. Normally, I am a fan of Apple, however I was in a need of Android device due to availability of certain apps only in Google Play. I am happy with this device and recommend others as well if you are looking for a tab with 100 USD.

For about $90 during Black Friday I bought this and have enjoyed its size. The 7 inch screen is all that I need for portability - got the nice case on sale at the same time - a must. Took some time to initially charge, but that's to be expected.

    good value

Purchased this on sale for a great price, making it a good value. It serves most of my online needs, used it for filing taxes electronically, etc. I can use a wireless printer with it. Camera is a bit fussy, video records audio portion to left track mostly, left and right when it feels like it. Can't upgrade the OS, most of the 8gb of internal memory is already used by the device, adding sd card for more storage is good for files, but not apps. Storing apps on sd card interferes with boot process, and when an app updates, it always move app from sd card back to device. I got what I paid for.

I recently bought the Samsung Tab A 7 Silver on black friday. This tablet is amazing and beautiful. Even though the tablet is 7", I consider it a steal for the discount blackfriday sale price. The silver color makes the tablet looks amazing. I mostly use it to read and to watch small videos.

I promise ...this is not worth the money...typing no matter what app ..you have to wait for each letter to appear....every app runs slow...can't change default download to SD card so device storage fills up fast...think I'm done with Samsung tablets.might try somewhere besides best buy as well

Nice tablet but not enough storage

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We bought this tablet as a upgrade for our 4 year old's nabbi. Compared to that, it is wonderful and more like her older sisters' tablets. She really enjoys it. We did run into a problem trying to find a bumper case for it but ended up with a good buy from amazon. The only other real issue I have is after downloading just a few games and take a few pics, she is already out of storage. Yes, we can add a SD card to expand storage, but you can't use that to download the apps to.
