This is my first Android device with Lollipop installed on it and I love it. The tablet feels very zippy and responsive. I was worried about the lower screen resolution, luckily that was premature. The screen has great color and contrast. The vibrancy of panel makes up for it's lower resolution. I am happy to see that you can now store movies and music from google play onto the SD card. This makes the lower storage capacity a non-issue. You can also move apps from the system to the SD card. The camera take pretty great pictures for a tablet in this price range. Only thing I would like to see would be stereo speakers, no biggie though. The single speaker provides clear and loud enough audio for most basic youtubing or game playing. Music... not so much, but I didn't expect that going in. Pros: Vibrant display Zippy CPU Plays Hearthstone well Lollipop Lightweight Minor cons: Raised camera lens prone to scratching without a case Mono speaker

I have had this around 2 months now. No problems, and love it. The battery life is far superior to my old Galaxy tab 2. The resolution is much better too. The tab S has a higher resolution and is amazing. I don't feel there is enough difference to warrant the $100 more though! Also, the tab S is a closed device. 32 gig...can not add a expansion card. The Tab A allows up to a 128 gig card.

Cheap tablet to replace older tablet

Pros: Cheap $229! Expandable data; I added a 32GB card for photos and movies. Battery life is pretty good. I noticed my Galaxy S6 Edge's battery drained faster. Response time is great and I feel like this will last me a few years. Cons: Obviously for something this cheap you will not have the best display. The PLS TFT screen cannot compare to an IPS screen in clarity and realism. The auto screen brightness is horrible and very dim. As a result, I leave it mid way at all times and only adjust it in the dark. On the Samsung website it says it plays video playback is 1080p which is wrong because the resolution is only 1024x768. Accessories are hard to find. I bought this over two weeks the release date and have found out that there is no hard case for it. Just overpriced folios at Best Buy. Found an $8 folio at Amazon and now waiting on it.

Purchased this product for my son. Opened it and played with it once and hated it. I tried to return it but the lady at Best Buy was rude and wouldn't let me since it was out of its return window. Now I'm stuck with a tablet we hate and won't use it!

Just 1 month after I bought this product I started noticing burned screen problems. A few weeks later, I can't use it anymore, cause it's too hard to see anything on the screen. It seems to be a cheap and non reliable item. Don't buy it!

I bought this tablet because of the 100 dollar advertisment. I have a ipad air and wanted a smaller tablet. I got the 8 inch and I am extremely happy. No ..the screen is not as good as my ipad air but it is very close. I dont know about the 9.7 inch. It may not be as good. It is very responsive and fast at loading apps. I dont think no one will be disappointed with it.

Traded in my Samsung Tab 2 7.0. was only worth $7. how fast technology becomes obsolete. But with a special they offered got $50 bucks for it plus $50 off this new Tab A 8.0. Actually spent less to get the Tab A then I spend for the Tab 2 years ago. Can't go wrong with the Samsung tablet. Beautiful screen and slim design. * only one issue, Samsung Touch Wiz interface does not allow you to alphabetize the apps list. I sent them an email complaining about it. If you will need to do this, download the Google Launcher from the app store to use in place of Touch Wiz.

I have been a tablet owner for three years. I have owned the Nexus 7 (2012 16 gb model and 2013 32 gb model), the Nexus 9 (32 gb black), and now the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (WHITE). The Samsung was the best tablet I have ever owned. The best part was the microSD card slot which could expand storage by up to 128 GB, and which was never available on all of my previous tablets. I got a 32 GB samsung microSD to up my storage to 48 GB. Another pro: It had lollipop OS right out of the box, as well as the microsoft suite of apps and netflix preinstalled. Overall this is a great Samsung tablet experience!

Purchased this tablet using the $100 trade in promo - walked out of the store with a new tablet for $129.00 plus tax. Super fast with a quad-core processor, love android lollipop, and like having a front facing camera for video calls - my nexus 7 that I traded in only had a rear facing camera. I liked it so much that we traded in 2 - 3 year old tablets and bought 2 new tablets.
