Bought this for my husband for Christmas.he is an iPhone user and he is very impressed with this tablet . This tablet has as many capabilities as any other on the market weather its web searching or emails or games. The size couldn't be more perfect and the speed is great.

I bought this tablet today at my local Best Buy. So far it has exceeded my expectations in every way. I was thinking about giving in and getting another iPad mini but the Samsung guys were extremely helpful so I ended up choosing the Tab A. I had some concerns about the mid-range specs but the demo model seemed to be working great so I decided to risk it. I have always wanted a Note tablet but could not justify the high price for a feature I was not sure I would use and I had no experience with. The S Pen version of the Tab A seemed like just the thing. So, yes, the screen is not the highest resolution at 1024x768. If you stick it next to something with a super pixel dense HD display you can certainly tell but for this resolution it actually looks really good. Text can be a bit pixilated on the 9.7” version but for my intended use, and I have an e-ink reader for straight reading, it is fine. I had a Tab 4 and while the resolution was essentially the same the Tab A looks smoother and less low resolution, almost like there is some kind of software based smoothing going on though I don’t think there is. Color is great. The speakers sound good. Performance has been completely smooth. I was expecting a few hiccups or for it to have noticeable slowdown while installing apps. When I brought it home I spent quite a while downloading apps and configuring it while trying things out at the same time and noticed no slowness. I streamed some videos and it was perfect. I have used it for less than a day but battery life seems excellent, during hours of playing around and setup is lost maybe 8%. You can even turn off the Magazine UX page that comes on most Samsung devices and that I really don’t use for care for. The S Pen is a delght to use and a great addition. I am loving taking notes by hand on the screen with S Note, which has a ton of options and features. It also came with all the Microsoft Office apps and One Note plus 100GB of cloud storage. On a final bonus for this tablet, since I moved away from iPads I did not realize how good a 3x4 aspect ratio really is on a tablet especially if you are viewing websites, reading emails, or drawing and note-taking. This size is great for productivity tasks and games. I just like this size and design overall compared to widescreen. If I have any other complaint besides the screen resolution it is there only being 16GB of internal storage. Tablets really need 32GB these days. I supplemented it with a 32GB SD card to hold movies and music and do appreciate having that option. I installed what I would consider my required apps and that alone took up about 4GB of the memory. Overall, I am very happy with the Tab A and would highly recommend it. It is one of the smoothest and most enjoyable to use tablets I have ever owned.

Tablet works as expected, with stable performance and has good speed. Apps open fast and switch fast between them. The only thing that it does not have is, a high display resolution; it is abouf a 720p instead of at least a 1080p, which many other tablets do! That is why a 4 not a 5 star. Had I read a little more about it I might waited a gotten one with a better diplay.

The screen is big enough to watch movies/videos. The touchscreen keyboard is very user friendly.

Returned under warranty windows tablet for this android tablet. This does more and is much faster.

Great tablet. Like the keyboard and all feaures. It is lightweight and the price was reasonable.

It does just what I needed for work and more. The suppoet at any Best Buy is great sence I travel.

This is a replacement for a older Galaxy tablet. I like the larger screen size and new features.

I play bingo and slots a lot. The graphics are awesome and screen size is good for seniors eyes.
