Samsung tablet
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Son's swear by Samsung. But everytime I try a Samsung it just doesn't do it for me. This tablet had lots of lag!! And took more than normal time to load, and start up.

Slow Processing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Others have pointed out the low storage space and frustration not being able to load apps on expanded memory. I wasn't expecting much for screen resolution, so that has not bothered me. My main disappointments are: 1. Slow processing speed. Though not infuriatingly slow, the mild lag did surprise me. It's just enough to be noticeable and sometimes frustrating. 2. Difficulty multi-tasking. If I switch to another App (for example, social media), often the game will need to reboot upon switching back. This can became very frustrating. 3. The battery life isn't terrible, but it's not great. Plan to charge it often. Many will point out the price, and it is one of the cheaper Samsung tablets available. I'm not necessarily wealthy, though, so dropping a couple hundred for a subpar product can be a hard pill to swallow. I suppose "you get what you pay for" is unfortunately true here. Some positives: * This thing, unfortunately, has dropped several times on hard floor. I definitely can't fault its durability. * The size is good. Not to small, but also not large and bulky. My main fault, again, is the slow speed.

Good replacement for my well-used old tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a similar Samsung tablet that died after "only" eight years. It was great, even if it didn't handle some newer apps. The old tablet was 7", which fit my hand so well! This is a bit large for me. But so far it works well and I am enjoying most of the updates from the older model. The ability to accept or reject some permissions for apps is great. The display is sharp and while having almost no margin at the edges makes an impressive display, it also means accidentally tapping apps and buttons just trying to hold the device. Battery life is better than my old tablet. There is always a bloatware problem. If there's a device that doesn't come with unwanted apps installed I haven't heard about it. But WHY is there a Phone app on a device that isn't a phone? And why isn't Samsung Free removed after the app is discontinued? (Cannot speak to durability after less than a month of use.)

Good wifi tablet...excellent price and durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice Wifi tablet for medium level activities. It is seemingly a bit weak on battery life, but I have no reference to directly compare to any other tablet's battery - it seems to need charging every day (daily maximum use for 3-4 h). It also supports writing on the screen which is nice for manipulating artwork etc. Bottom line is its a very good tablet for the price point, as many others of a similar range of features are 2x or 3x the cost. Its a bit low on storage, but you can add up to a 128GB SD card. Is actually the second one I bought of the exact same product (2021 model now likely off-market). The first one lasted 3 yrs even with a lot of young dirty kiddy hands and spills and numerous drops.

A good low cost tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 4th Samsung I've bought over the last decade or so and this one, like the other three, is a quality product. I bought this to control one of two Mevo cameras used for live streaming from my church, and that's the only thing that I've done with it. While my usage of it has been limited, it appears to be as functional as the others I've owned. The setup was a snap and I was up and running in no time. The A7 lite is nearly as fast as my 2+ year old Tab S6 which I would expect as the technology has advanced over that time. The screen is bright and appears to show fairly accurate colors (compared to what I see in OBS Studio). It's flawless at monitoring the camera never dropping frames, that I've seen. If your use case for a tablet will be in a relatively protected environment, this should work for you. I made the environment caveat because the case is plastic. It appears to be high quality plastic but I wanted to note that fact because the higher end Samsung tablets often are made of metal. Overall, it just works and flawlessly does what I bought it to do.

Competent but Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an older (non-Samsung) tablet of about the same size on which the battery is dying. Functionally, it's fine, and it lets me run some needed apps that aren't compatible with the older tablet. It also discharges the battery more slowly, perhaps because the battery is better or perhaps because the processor is more energy-efficient. However, there are a number of negatives. I couldn't connect it to my wifi without changing the wifi password, as the tablet treated at least one of the special characters in the password as a signal to stop accepting input. It can be very slow to start up, taking almost three minutes if it decides it's time to optimize apps. The very smooth back and edges makes it uncomfortable to hold, requiring a tight grip that, since the edges are very thin, is likely to result in accidental screen taps. The slick edges also mean it can't be held even a little vertically in the holder I use in the car when I'm using it as a GPS, as it simply slides out. As far as I've been able to tell, it also can't serve as a USB device when connected to the car USB port. When I plug in a microphone with an OTG USB adapter, sound output is suppressed. Trying to clean fingerprints from the screen with a microfiber cloth, which has worked on other tablets, results in smearing the screen rather than removing the prints.

Lite is an aspirational name
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most important for me: the term Lite is aspirational. I needed a lightweight tablet to replace my very old S2, which weighs 9 oz on my kitchen scale, and this was the lightest book-sized android I could find. I have smallish hands. Holding the 13-oz A7 Lite is like holding the average hardcover book--but I've always chosen the paperback. Not sure how this would be comfortable for a child; it is hard for me to hold for any length of time without strain. If Samsung ever does make a lighter tablet I will jump at it. One or two other issues. The squarish shape of my old tablet allowed me to see the full width of most web pages without turning it sideways. The narrower shape of the A7 sometimes reduces the size of pages so the type is too hard to read. And this tablet is extremely slow charging, even after Samsung's tech staff helped me find a fast-charge button. Once charged, battery life seems ok. On the plus side, Samsung's tech people were outstanding: consistently helpful, thoughtful, polite, and patient.

Great deal!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, looks good, and feels good. A little slow sometimes stalls when writing, and slow at turning on, but otherwise perfect. I got the 32gb instead of the 64gb that's probably why it's a little slow. Enjoy your tablet!
