Customers are delighted by the Galaxy Tab S4's stunning screen quality, impressive battery life, and ease of use. Many appreciate the inclusion of the S Pen and find the tablet's performance to be excellent. I needed a new tablet so after looking around this one had the best specs for what I needed. I like the s pen, it feels normal to hold. I like everything about this one. I did not buy the keyboard case. My friend has it and I found it to be clunky and a pain to hold. Plus it's just to expensive. The downside to this tablet is its price. I got a great deal and that was the final vote to buy it.

Bought this for my mom and she loves it. Performance is good with plenty of power for day-to-day tasks. The pen works great on screen, but be sure to buy a case with a holder for it, as it's very easy to lose.

My old Galaxy Tab S (1st edition) stopped working. I used it daily and decided to replace it. The S4 has a great screen and faster processor. Only problem has been that a few of my favorite apps are no longer are available. Keep up the good work Samsung.

I have the tabS3, decided to try the S4, after a few months of using it I like the long lasting battery, I missed the finger reader on this one It has face recognition instead that is not bad at all. Just recently tablet froze up wouldn't recognize the password or face recognition, I had to do some research to reboot but it took me a while to figure it out. It is up and running now.

I upgraded this from my Galaxy Tab S3. It works great. There is only one difference that I don't really care for that much and that is the absence of the home key. It is taking some getting used to but it works. In all the video and the sound is much better. I use it a lot watching TV in bed streaming from Xfinity. In that respect it works much better and is faster than the Galaxy Tab S3.

Best Android Tab on the Market

Pros: Thin bezels No home button so can be used in either orientation Better face detection technology (iris scanner) Larger battery S-Pen included Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support 64GB Internal Storage (expandable up to 400Gb) Samsung DEX OS Cons: Not a huge spec upgrade from Tab S3 Keyboard Cover not included No Wireless Charging For reference, I’ve owned almost every flagship Samsung Android Tab since 2014 starting with the Tab Pro, then the Tab S 10.5, and the Tab S2 9.7 back in 2015. My favorite of all time was the original Tab S which came out in the summer of 2014. What I loved about it was that it was landscape oriented with an AMOLED 16:10 display with rich colors that made watching movies or reading comic books an absolute joy. Unfortunately, it became outdated and at some point I upgraded to a Tab S2, which with it's 9.7in screen in 4:3 aspect ratio seemed a bit like a downgrade. Last year I upgraded to the S3 which was mostly the same... But... Fast forward to 2018 and the new Galaxy Tab S4 goes back to the 16:10 aspect ratio with an even better AMOLED screen with HDR support. The thin bezels and lack of home buton makes the latest Galaxy Tab entry the best one yet. Now, you can use the device in any orientation without the physical buttons being in an awkward position. So far I have not had an issue with face detection, which also works in both orientations. It seems to work in a similar way as Windows Hello on newer laptops that support it. The home, back, and recents buttons now sit down at the bottom of the screenas virtual buttons no matter the orientation. In fact, without physical buttons or a Samsung logo, it's hard to determine which physical position the tablet actually is in. The camera, like the Tab S3 sits flush with the back of the unit. It's sleek for sure. When using an app, the on-screen buttons disappear but can be found again with a simple swipe up from the bottom. The same swipe from the home screen brings up the applications menu. To me, these gestures feel so much more natural and fluid than pressing a physical button. Performance wise the tablet is actually not much difference than the Tab S3. It has a bit newer and faster Snapdragon CPU on a 10nm die, twice the storage space, the same camera, same quad speakers tuned by AKG, and the same 4GB of RAM. The Tab S4 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and the selfie camera is actually 8MP now instead of 5MP. Both support microSD expansion..but the Tab S4 allows you to go to 400GB. Oh and in case you were wondering, yes it still has the ol' trusty 3.5 headphone jack. Unforunately, there is no wireless charging. In my testing performance was solid, I didn't see a hiccup, even when using Dex. The OLED screen of course is vibrant and the sound quality superb for a tablet. Other than that, there's DeX. Samsung's DeX take's a newer feature of Android, called multi-window support and enhances it to give you a true desktop experience. In reality, it actually works fairly well. You can open apps in windowed mode, resize them, drag them to different positions on the screen, or click the full-size icon to expand them to full screen, just like a desktop. Most apps work really well in this mode. Chrome is so good for example, that I forget I'm using the mobile version of Chrome and not the one on my PC. There are some apps that don't work at all, such as Lastpass, and Netflix launched but I had only sound, no video. DeX will work either on the tablet screen itself or you can hook up an external monitor (both HDMI and DisplayPort worked for me) to get a truer desktop experience. The S4 also supports bluetooth keyboard and mice. you can also pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But, one of the coolest features I found was the fact that you can use the tablet itself as a large glass trackpad. This worked really well, and felt completely natural. Overall, is it worth it to upgrade from the Tab S3, probably not, unless you just can’t stand larger bezels or the home button/fingerprint reader. However, if you’re upgrading from the Tab S, Tab S2 or one of the cheaper Samsung Tabs then the Tab S4 could be a great buy. If you are looking at the S4 as a replacement to a laptop then things get a little muddier. Sure, DeX is a nifty feature, but it is not anything new. Windows has had both a tablet and full desktop experience mode for years now. DeX only works on one tablet right now. The other thing to consider is that if you want to use this a as a laptop you will probably want the keyboard attachment which is going to add a $150 to your total cost. At which point you are well past the price of very capable and affordable traditional laptops. In the end though, it's the software that makes the difference, and that is largely in Google and the Android community's hands. On the hardware front this is a very solid and easily the best Android tablet you can buy.

I have been using this tablet and keyboard daily for a couple of months and absolutely love it. Light enough to carry everywhere and the screen is incredible. Higher priced but worth it. The only thing I would ask for is an option for a lighted keyboard.

This is my third Galaxy Tablet, and it's a noticeable improvement from my Tab S2. The screen rez is basically the same but it now can display HDR video and play Dolby Atmos sound since it has four speakers. There's also more memory and ram, and it blows through everything at amazing speed. The pen is also very nice and accurate. The only disappointment is the covers available. The S2 had an elegant folio cover that snapped onto the back of the Tab and added very little thickness. Since the S4 has a glass back which is the current rage, there's no more snap on cover. The keyboard case has a nice but small keyboard, but there's no trackpad. If you want to make use of Samsung's new DeX "desktop" mode, you really need a Bluetooth mouse. Also, it's uncomfortable to use folded back in tablet mode. I took the keyboard case back. All in all, it's a great tablet.

Setup went very easily without any trouble at all. It actually automatically obtained most of my apps that I use on my phone (Galaxy S8+) from Google Play and duplicated them on the tablet. When I researched prior to purchase I was concerned that it was only Android 8.1 (phone is 9.0) and the sales associate was not aware of an upgrade estimate. My research could find no date either. When I checked after setup, I found it was 9.0. Then, I checked and started the most recent security update. Android Q soon? Love the S-pen.

Overall a great tablet that I would recommend to anybody. It's fast, the screen is excellent, and it's easy to hold in your hands. Is this better than the iPad pro? No. But it is cheaper and runs Android, if that's your thing.

I haven't bought many tablets since laptops and computers are more powerful but, I needed to get one for College inorder to organize my notes better. I used to think that all tablets were the same and used to only buy cheap $100 tablets like Insignia. Not that Insignia isn't bad but, the computing power is poor and lags some. I was blown away at how much faster this tablet was, on par with my desktop/laptop. The best feature this tablet has is it's pen. Especially when paired with OneNote, Its the best note taking machine I own and the graphics are on par with my desktop. It doesn't lag like my old INSIGINA tablet. 5/5

The performance and battery life are excellent. The only fault I can see with the Tablet is that they removed the fingerprint sensor. There is plenty of room for it. Why not have it on the back like the new phones do. Other than that, I have no complaints. I would recommend putting it in a decent case so it has some protection if it is dropped.

Absolutely love this tablet. Beautiful picture and love that the operating system is just like my phone. Reason why I gave 4 out of 5 stars is for the high price, but still very happy with my purchase. I've only had it a week and haven't really learned all there is to do with it, but so far very happy. Oh, and the pen works amazing.
