Best sound I've ever heard in a tablet. Speakers at both ends make all the difference for watching movies, concerts etc. Hooked up a bluetooth keyboard for work productivity. The screen is brilliant. Not using the Bixby, just unnecessary imho. Very happy with this purchase.

the device is light and slim and has an excellent high-resolution screen. Photos and videos look great on the device. storage is good. So far has been performing the way it should. the only thing I don't like about it is the headphone jack which is bad design.

This maybe the Cheaper version of the Samsung S6 but it has the same screen and is lighter weight. The battery last me all night and has one step down in processor but I don't notice s difference. All my games play fast and movies gorgeous.

Love the display. Fast enough. Very light, Fingerprint sensor is tricky. Apple does it much better on iPad. Top border should be a bit wider. Hard to hold horizontally without touching the active display area. Miss a headphone jack. I was coming from a 1st gen Tab S2 9.2". I have a 2018 iPad, yuck. I cant stand iOS. but the iPad fingerprint sensor is idiot proof.

Best Android Tablets of the year so far

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is a great media/entertainment tablet with a spectacular display, great sound system at an introductory price that is lower than the original MSRP for the Samsung Galaxy tab S2 9.7. When you look at the tablet and at the specs you can make the case that the S5e is the best tablet introduced so far in 2019. I have had my S5e for about two weeks now it has proven to be fast and smooth in touch screen operation, and Wifi operation, Battery life for the S5e is about 25% more then the S2 9.7 I previously used. The finger print recognition built-in to the power switch works fast and reliably. I use tablets in a case, preferable a slim portfolio style to support the tablet in landscape orientation at adjustable display angles. The case might be why I haven't experience any of the Wifi dropouts or speed problems some others have reported. Resting the table in the portfolio case in my lap, on a table or the bed is just so much nicer when watching a movie or TV on line for an hour or more. The case provides protection for the exterior of the table and only a small weight addition. I don't have an issue with the lack of a 3.5 mm earphone jack, I have Bluetooth earphones as well as wired ones and Samsung does provide and 3.5mm to USB-C adapter, considering the thinness of the table and the narrow bezels on the display a normal 3.5 mm jack is probably not possible. So pro: Great display, great sound system, fast smooth system performance, battery life, small size and weight for display size. Con A lot of Bloatware to wade through to separate useful from not useful. If you like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 or other high-end media/entertainment Android tablets I think there is a good chance you will love the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e. My family already has its second one already. I recommend the S5e to my friends and family.

Samsung came to their senses and brought back the superb screen and they didn't rest on their laurels. The speakers are amazingly loud and the sound quality is suprising. I don't know what is more impressive, the incredible battery life or how thin and light the Tab s5e is. It's so small with the ultra thin bezel. And the face recognition unlocks it quickly. It is very fast (I got the 128gb w 6mb ram) If you are unsure about moving to a new tablet buy it with confidence. I could not be happier. The only downside I can find is the lack of custom cases available. And no dedicated audio Jack, who cares I always use bluetooth

So, after a few days with this tablet, I have to say I am a bit underwhelmed. It has a beautiful OLED screen, good battery life and is thin and lightweight. Performance is decent with very little noticeable lag. Rear camera quality is pretty good but the front camera is so-so. Fingerprint scanner works well. I only have to touch it once. Things seemed good at first but went downhill quickly. First, the OS crashed and the tablet became completely unresponsive within hours out of the box. I wasn't even using it at the time. I had finished setting everything up and sat the tablet down. Most infants probably don't get treated as gently as I treated this tablet during that time. I tried to use it a couple hours later and it was completely unresponsive. The screen was black and nothing could activate it. Holding the power button did nothing. I figured maybe the battery was drained, so I plugged it into the fast charger but it was still unresponsive after an hour of charging. I finally researched the issue online and discovered how to reset the tablet. Holding the volume down and power buttons together for about 10 seconds got it working again. Despite the fact that I got it working, a hard crash like that right out of the box is not a good start. As soon as I got that issue resolved, I ran into my next issue: the inability to text or call through my phone from my tablet. That issue is huge because the promise of text and call forwarding was the number one reason why I bought this tablet. I'm a 10 year Apple user who recently switched to Android after growing bored of Apple's never ending sameness. That switch involved buying a Galaxy S10+, a Galaxy Watch Active and this tablet. I like all three but the lack of cohesiveness and interoperability between the phone and tablet is driving me nuts. My iPhone and iPad may have gotten boring but at least they work nicely in tandem to deliver all my content, including texts and voice calls, on both devices. The iPad is WiFi-only, just like this Tab S5e. I didn't realize just how huge the effortless syncing between iOS devices was, nor how much I'd miss it, until I switched. Despite being made by the same manufacturer, this tablet and my S10+ feel like two unrelated stand alone items. I have activated call and message continuity on the tablet and I'm logged into my Samsung account on both devices. However, it appears the phone does not have the call and message continuity option. Why is this? Is this the dreaded fragmented updates annoyance that everyone warned me about before I switched to Android? Is it a carrier restriction? Whatever the reason, it's unacceptable. I had the same issue with my Chromebook and S10+. The Chrome OS also promised the ability to get messages from an Android phone but I cannot seem to activate it because the setting they instruct to activate is not on my Samsung phone. I have to honestly say, things aren't getting off to a running start for me with Samsung. My S10's ultrasonic fingerprint reader is frustratingly bad (10+ attempts and frequent lockouts are the norm). The Galaxy Watch Active's blood pressure monitoring feature was the main reason I bought the watch but that turned into a fiasco. Now I've discovered that I can't (yet?) use the primary feature that drove me to purchase this tablet. Even worse, I have no promises or assurances that I ever will be. Something like SMS and call sync between two mobile devices made by the same manufacturer shouldn't be THAT hard to pull off. If my Samsung watch can receive text messages from my Samsung phone, why can't my Samsung tablet? I'm honestly getting fed up with this iOS to Android migration attempt.

I had an Amazon Fire Tablet 10 that I was replacing. The Fire tablets are nice affordable tablets for casual use like for watching movies during long car trips or flights. I was once flew to India for 16 hours watching nothing but what I had on that Fire Tablet. What I discovered from that experience was that I needed a lighter tablet, because even though I had a standing case, a lot of time I ended up holding it up in order to see better. Which leads to my next points, a higher resolution screen and better speakers. I picked the Galaxy Tab S5e because of the screen and the speakers. Both are amazing in this model and quite frankly knocks the Fire Tablet out of the park. The term HD is laughable on the Fire tablets. In the past, I couldn't listen to anything without bluetooth headphones because the speakers that came with the tablet sounded very tinny and was only on one side of the tablet. The Galaxy TabS5e has 4 speakers and is made by Harman, which means that you won't be disappointed by the sound quality. My last point is that while the 64 gb model does only have 4gb of RAM, which means you won't be rendering any 3d models any time soon on this device. However for your daily on the go needs like check your email, post on social media, and stream movies and video, it can more than handle the job. I personally never use a stylus which this model did not come with. but u could honestly just get a 3rd party bluetooth one if needed. I have metal keyboard I purchased from Amazon for $20 and I can do work on Saleforce with no issues. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and feel this was well wiith price!

I purchased this for several reasons: 1. I wanted a portable, but larger option for video/mobile gaming. 2. I wanted a name brand to make it easier to attain quality accessories. 3. I wanted a device I could use for Zoom conferencing that had a larger screen than what my phone had, but didn't want to lug around a laptop. What I can tell you; if you want a better screen, you're better off buying up. This tablet doesn't have built in support for the S pen - but I didn't buy it for that reason. This is a great mid-range tablet; has all the bells and whistles I wanted out of it but doesn't feel slow. I particularly appreciate the ability to expand storage and ordered a data-only SIM card from my carrier to give it some extra oomph when I'm on the move - I plan on using it in lieu of a laptop while traveling because I'll only need it for light gaming, video, or emailing. It feels like the battery lasts forever - I've only had to charge it once a week with light use - maybe about an hour per day, and only because I hate seeing the battery dip below 40%. It's light - doesn't feel like I'm holding a ton of weight with it and it doesn't feel clunky - it's thin. Last time I purchased a tablet for myself was in 2012 - I decided it was time for an upgrade and I'm happy I chose this one - this one is thinner than the 7" tablet I had back in 2012, and weighs even less! Samsung didn't disappoint with this one.

This is a replacement for a samsung bought in 2014. leaps and bounds quicker, lighter, and more functional. ONLY con is... no headphone jack. A dongle adapter is included, which means one more useless piece of plastic you get to carry around. Other than that, impressive battery life and an awesome, vibrant screen. Recommend a screen protector and case.

This is my third Samsung tablet. First was a Tab A 7" 8GB (2016) and second was a Tab A 9.7" 32GB (2018). Bought this as an upgrade and gave the 9.7' to my sister in law because --- well just because I like new stuff. The good parts are the screen is fantastic for movies; games & web surfing. Unlike some other reviews the Wi-Fi seems to work well no matter the Tablet position so I guess Samsung listened and did reroute the antenna in later models. The 64GB memory is ok but when paired with a 128GB micro sd card for media storage good becomes great and for future needs, that 128GB card can be replaced with up to 512GB. The USB C charging port is nice and accepts a few accessories too. The Tablet charges from 5% to 100% with the included charger in about 70-80 minutes. I like the four speakers too, the sound is better than with any other Tablet I've owned but for great sound, I pair it with my bluetooth Bose speaker. Now for not so good things. Sometimes the processor is lagging and there is a noticeable delay when starting some apps or rotating the tablet. The hi resolution screen also lags when switching between apps or refreshing while transitioning back to the home screen. My old Tab A 9.7' and 7" did better in this area even though they were much lower resolution screens. Maybe Samsung can address this in later firmware releases. This Tablet is VERY VERY light so can be easily dropped if not paying attention to handling it so be careful. Mine came with a FREE yes that right folks, a free Samsung book cover type case. As the Best Buy store I bought it from had none in stock, they shipped it free to my door two days later. Odd that the case sticks to the Tablet magnetically but it fits like a glove. I paired this with a glass screen shield off Amazon and it is the perfect combo for carrying; using and enjoying this tablet. Haven't had it a full month yet, but a great upgrade from my Tab A 9.7". It carried a $399 price which was about a $100 over the newer model 128GB Tab A, but the higher resolution screen; lighter weight & USB C was worth the extra in this mid range tablet.

This tablet is amazing! I have owned several lower end Samsung Tablets that would do the job but after a year they would become super slow. I've had this tablet for over a year now and it is still just like out of the box as far as speed and charging. I bring mine with me everywhere and use it for almost everything. I can get a solid 3 to 4 days of battery life after normal use. I do have some issues with the Wifi when I have it in my heavy duty case. When I have it in my smaller fold over case I don't have any problems. It hasn't been a huge deal for me though. The weight is perfect. My daughter did drop mine on concrete when I first got it and it did crack a little in the corner. But it didn't affect the use of the tablet one bit. It was a little more money then I wanted to spend but after having it for over a year it has proved to be well worth it.

This tablet is speedy, sleek, and super thin. It has plenty of power to be used as a replacement for my old laptop. I've paired this with a Bluetooth keyboard and it is basically like using a laptop. The 10.5" screen size is great, a good middle ground for being large enough to use as a laptop replacement/movies/streaming, but still small enough to be able to comfortably hold the device in your hands, carry it around with you in your bags, luggage, etc. The tablet is so thin it's incredible. Battery life is quite good as well, I'm able to get 3+ days with some pretty heavy usage out of it, before needing a charge. Overall, a great purchase.

I bought this to replace my almost four year old Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. I didn't need a pen or an expensive S4. It has the beautiful OLED screen and is very thin and lightweight. The speakers are much better than those of the S2. I also have an iPad Pro, but I prefer using the new Samsung Tab S5e because it is lighter and the screen is better.

Loving my new Samsung tablet. Very light weight, great picture, and really nice sound. Battery lasts a long time and it charges quickly. Supper fast; went from a kindle fire to this tablet so really notice the difference in speed. Never waiting for it to “think” about something. Tons of APS and and games. Easy to use my kindle and overdrive books as well as audible.

Samsung, I really do enjoy this tablet for what it is. It is powerful enough for the multitasking I do, the screen looks amazing, the sound is fantastic, the battery life is incredible, and I didn't even end up with the dreaded wifi signal loss (though it did drop a bar or two when I REALLY tried to cover the entire corner of the tablet). The facial recognition isn't quite as good as I had hoped. It could be my hair that gets in the way and makes it less accurate but it wasn't the reason I took a star off of this review. The fingerprint sensor was actually more reliable for me. Even with my torn up fingers, it seems to be the better option for myself. But for the love of all that is holy on this earth, stop copying Apple. Stop trying to remove the headphone jack because it is completely useless to do so. The only thing it does for the end user is make things complicated when you want to use regular analog headphones. Be an individual Samsung. Leave Apple alone to lock down their devices like the fascists they are. You are better than this Samsung. I hope you find your own way in the future. As you have in the past.
