Had old Galaxy tablet never had problem, this one shuts off by itself when using it.

I got this has a Christmas present. Works to my liking and live the features on it.

don't like the single port for power. If I wanted that I wouk have bought an iPad.

It has been difficult to find a well-featured, appealing Android 8+ tablet at a reasonable price. Why Android 8+? I'm a fan of hi-resolution audio and have been looking for a multi-function tablet that supports the LDAC hi-res bluetooth codec. Why a tablet vs. one of the many nicely equipped Android phones now on the market? I have an iPhone. And Apple does not support hi-res audio on its platform. Only Android has stepped up. I have a couple different bluetooth headphones that I use for work, travel, and commuting, including the Sony WH-1000xm3 noise cancelling cans which supports LDAC, Pairing the Sony cans with the new Samsung S5E was easy, and quick. Enabling LDAC to work with the Sony cans was equally easy as it is a simple toggle on/off setting in the headphone setup selection, And the hi-res audio I listen to sounds amazing. The only tablet options I was comfortable with prior to the release of the S5E were too expensive to justify a purchase. I'm also very happy to find that this new tablet is an excellent all-around multi-function tablet. I've owned other Android tablets in the past and never really found myself using them much for one reason or another, Android 9 seems to bring a different experience to the mix. And the form factor and AMOLED screen of the S5E also help make this tablet more useful as well as appealing. And it has expandable storage. That's a big plus. Especially for holding media, I expect I will be using this often as my integrated media solution for air travel since adding downloadable music, movies, television shows etc. from Tidal, Netflix, Showtime, Kindle, Amazon Prime etc. is very easy. And content viewing on the AMOLED screen is excellent. Reading e-books, newspapers, and magazines is a quality experience. Viewing video is also a quality experience. There appears to be plenty of speed to accommodate this type of use. I don't consider the S5E to be a laptop replacement. I see it more as a good, general purpose "slate" in a high-quality, light-weight, and reasonable powerful package.

The screen is very bright and colorful. The tablet is on the heavy side.

Wifi Signal Constantly Drops and Screen cracks really easily

In my home, we have ditched landlines so we need to make sure our cell phones are always charged and ready to use. Because of this, I really like to rely on a tablet for all my miscellaneous mobile activities... emails, social media, news, etc. The Tab S5e seemed like a tablet with good specs, for a fairly reasonable price. I knew that the big "to-do" with this tablet was the super thin body. When I opened the box and first saw the tablet, I was still amazed at how thin it really is. This is good... and bad. Because it's so thin, I'm actually a little nervous about not damaging it. (At this time, it is very difficult to find a decent case for it. I can only find generic-fitting cases right now.) Aside from it's sleek design, and after powering it up, this tablet really does look amazing. The Super AMOLED screen is so crisp and vibrant. The 4 Dolby Atmos speakers sound really great as well, but I mostly use Bluetooth headphones. I'm not a big gamer, but with the few games I do play, the touch interface is very responsive and smooth. The cameras seem to be right up there with most cameras included with mobile devices... they are good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the tablet is what I would expect from Samsung. Some may say the price is justified, some may disagree. I'm really on the border about the price. A part of me can justify the price based on the specs and performance; another part of me thinks it may be a tad overpriced because of the mediocre processor and average amount of onboard memory. You really need to give this tablet a try first, to see what you think for yourself and for your mobile needs.

Have used and abused a Note 8 for several years and now the second battery is failing. Time for an upgrade. Was leaning towards the Tab A 10.1 but the S5e dropped into my lap. Standard Samsung tablet only thinner and lighter, with a beautiful AMOLED screen, faster processor and updated OI Set-up was straight forward, easily transferred data from my old tablet to this one. Hardest part was remembering all of my password. Add a micro SD card, screen protector and a case and this is a perfect travel companion. Being thinner, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is eliminated, a USB C to 3.5 mm adapter is included but Bluetooth works very well, both range and reception are top notch. Have yet to try movies but YouTube videos stream effortlessly and look great. Overall, a great tablet, worth the extra cost.

The first one I received I sent back because the screen kept going black. Now the second one is starting to do the same. I'm going to be calling about this one also.

Wasn't impressed, was too big for me, especially after it was a lot slower than I expected. Very happy I decided to wait on the Microsoft surface book 2 in 1. Fits the bill for this and is a super fast laptop.

I knew it was time to replace my old Galaxy tab 4 as it was slow and not holding the charge. So, I was very excited to get the improved upgraded Samsung Galaxy SE5 tablet. When you read the specs, you have to say “WOW!”. When I opened the box I was really impressed with how sleek and modern the tablet looks but when I first held it, I was afraid I might drop it as it is so thin. After two days of use It became easer to hold, or I had more confidence. The back is a tad slippery but I will eventually buy a cover. .It is considerably bigger than the 8’ tablet which I pop in my bag and take to the gym and everywhere. The set-up instructions were sparse and even finding the help files was not easy. Fortunately, I had experience with a Samsun Galaxy tab. The YouTube videos were very scarce as it is so new. I would suggest that Samsung place the help file on the home page so when you first turn it on it is readily available for the setup. Authentication The on/off button is so indented it is hard to use. This may be by design to keep from accidently turning on/off. To open you can use a PIN, password or Biometrics type fingerprint scanner, or face recognition. I didn’t initially set up any authentication feature but will probably just use the PIN. It is nice to know that there are more options. Apps It was very easy to transfer files from my old galaxy to the new one, Some of the older apps don’t seem to work but that is okay. The one aspect that I find frustrating is moving apps to the micro SD card. You have to guess which apps can be moved and do each one manually. I am not sure when updates arrive if they will be automatically downloaded to the SD card. Sound • 4 speakers (Top: 2, Bottom: 2) Sound by AKG Cinematic sound with Dolby Atmos technology Really awesome and if you do need earphone there is an included Type C to 3.5mm adapter. Or use blue tooth earbuds. Both work well. Charging is really fast but I wish the screen would tell me how long to charge so I wouldn’t leave it in to overcharge. Perhaps with time I will have more of a feel for how long it takes. The 7,040mAh battery lasts a long time on a charge. Graphics – really really excellent. The screen size and super AMOLED display are great. Combined With the excellent sound the Galaxy SE5 creates a very nice experience for streaming. Camera – excellent. Gives the user a lot of control. Used outside in sunlight and still easy to see the screen. There are a lot of other features which I will have fun exploring, likeDeX for a PC-like environment , , Android Pie (9), AI The Galaxy Tab S5e offers the first Samsung tablet to feature the new Bixby 2.0, and it serves as a hub to control connected home devices. Users can turn on their TV and lights with Quick Command. Samsung - SmartThings Hub is listed as a freebie, but mine did not come with this device so I can’t review it. An Extra is the Secure folder: a secure space on the device to keep content such as apps, photos and documents private. In sum, the more I use the Samsung Galaxy SE5 the better I like it. After playing Microsoft Solitary I find I will definitely need a holder. I did use an older blue tooth keyboard, but that is not satisfactory for traveling.

For something that supossed to have somewhat better specs than the base iPad playing fornite on it was at first not possible till update and then was just sad.... returned and got a iPad and so much better

What utter garbage. It's always been a bit laggy out of the gate but now it's stuck at charging at 11%. I bought the charging stand and boy oh boy it's also garbage. It's flimsy and cheap. Even with a cable plugged in it doesn't charge beyond 11% And I'm using the OEM cable and have tried other cables. I've had this for a year and a half and paid over $400. This isn't the first Samsung device to die early either. What a waste of hard earned cash.

Not great...I expected more because I have Samsung TVs and several phones ...I have loved them all....but the tablet did not function well ..in the end I returned it.

This tablet would be absolutely terrific if it didn't have a Wi-Fi issue. Unfortunately if you're not within a few feet of your router and you have the tablet in landscape mode you will lose connection. I called Samsung tech support they had no fix except to send it to them. Most expensive tablet I've bought, I'm really disappointed.

Save your money this fingerprint sensor is terrible. Face ID barely works. No app support. I hate to say it but, “buy an iPad”.

total waste of money does not pick of wifi even when it has direct contact

Didn't realize until after purchase can't connect tablet to television. Main reason for purchasing it to be able to do that.

This is my first tablet since an iPad 2 and boy have these things come a long way. First off it’s so light I’m afraid I’m going to break it. Definitely need to buy a keyboard case ASAP, especially to use as a kickstand. I watched two movies on the plane with it and they were crisp and clear. After using IOS for so long, the Android interface is intuitive and customizable, which I love. The battery has a very long life and charges quickly. I’m glad to have a tablet again and use it for both work and at home.
