This is to replace a slightly ageing Tab S3 that I've been using since it came out - it also has a keyboard and I can't live without a keyboard. One program I use can record web pages or PDFs so I can listen in my car. It runs more than 2x faster on the S6. The screen seems even sharper, and is bigger. I love the pogo charging (I have the mini-dock) especially because my S3's USB port has been flaky for a while, probably from the constant connect-disconnect. The Dex mode takes care of the few things I still needed a real laptop for, and works even better, especially with an external screen. Everything seems fast and smooth and for the most part just works. I tend to use the accessibility negative colors setting, but it seems to be trying to preserve colors while turning white backgrounds to black, which has some interesting side effects. I wish it had some form of wireless charging, and as much memory as the Note 10+ deluxe, but it seems to be doing fine (I have the 256Gb model). Also they need to fix bluetooth keyboards popping up an onscreen keyboard. And the charging dock only does 5V but will do so at a high current - it would be nice if it was a true USB port. And I can't charge while attached to the cover-keyboard. They still need to have a way of completely removing the built in programs, many are large (they could include a stub that would immediately upgrade to the full version if wanted). Samsung managed to sync everything, but there was a hiccup in that they didn't copy the metadata over (e.g. File creation/modification date) so my podcasts from the last two months were in the wrong order (I managed to do some ubergeek technomagic to restore the dates, but it was annoying). It even synced my browser - especially the quick access menu - but it took a while and I think I had a setting off. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? The New SPen is even better than my S3's with its gestures and button remote. But I lost it once - when I put it into a new sleeve I bought. I will lose it again. It sticks marginally to the back where it charges, but it is easily knocked off. Until I get the keyboard or other case it will be in danger of being lost. They could/should have a setting where it gives a loud notification when it is removed from the back, OR the SPen goes out of range so you will know you lost it. They have bluetooth tags and apps that do this, so I don't know how/why Samsung can't do something similar. They also could have added even a cheap SPen shroud/protector which would just be the pen cover part of the case in the box. That would have kept the SPen in place when putting it in the sleeve. I keep knocking it out of the magnetic connection almost every time I pick up the tablet. If/When they fix this I will add the final star, but this is a problem since the pens are expensive The older SPens work, and it appears the nibs are the same (good!). I've also been showing it off, and someone said it was better than the iPad Pro at a lower price (including the accessories). Between the side-by-side dual apps, Dex, and just regular modes, this has a way of doing everything easily.

Excellent Tablet by Samsung but could be better

Samsung is the only company at this point that even cares about making Android tablets. They have been doing really good with they Tab S line and adding new features each generation. The Galaxy Tab S6 is no exception. I'm coming from a Tab S4 and this device is much thinner and lighter. I love the move away from glass backs to a metal one and now there is a designated spot to keep your S-Pen. The tablet feels so much smaller but the screen size remains about the same. The display is gorgeous as always and is probably the best to watch shows on. If you're looking for a screen protector, the ones for the S5e will fit the same. There are 4 speakers, just like in the past 3 or 4 generations and they sound amazing and super loud. I never need headphones for them in my office, where the AC is super loud. Samsung Dex is amazing on this device, with 8GB of RAM, you basically have an actual PC with file management, mouse and keyboard support and display out. You can eventually run Linux on Dex (which worked great on the Tab S4) and sync up with your phone. Speaking of which, if you have a Galaxy Note 10, you can link up your phone to it and make and receive calls and texts on the tablet as long as you're connected to the WiFi. This is the kind of interaction I like having between my phone and tablet, I love it! But nothing is ever perfect. This device is powerful but still suffers from occasional stutters. The screen stays on during charging, which has me worried about burn-ins. The tablet it self with restart overnight without being scheduled to and this causes massive slowdowns as it needs to "boot up" the first time I try to use it each day. The magnets holding the S-Pen are pretty weak, which causes the S-Pen to fall out easily. The WiFi doesn't seem to like mesh networks and requires a full reboot when it bugs out. Hopefully that gets resolved with an update. While cleaning my screen to apply a screen protector, a spec had scratched a part of my screen, which is disappointing for such an expensive device. You would also think that for this price, the tablet would get all the same features as their phones but they are lacking of a lot of it, including proper support of Good Lock (it currently barely works). The tablet is meant to be used in landscape, especially with the keyboard case, but the software suggests that they didn't take that into consideration when the startup screen is forced to portrait. Many other apps also lack the support to go into landscape but that's more of the developer's fault. A lot of these issues come down to Android not really having much support for Tablets but Samsung could do better with their own apps. I still love using this device and will definitely not return it for these flaws. There is nothing else out there in the Android world that compares to this tablet. If you want a powerful tablet with similar features to a Windows device and has actual mouse support, I definitely recommend this.

Note: Got this during the Christmas season sales period for much cheaper than normal price and the review takes this into account. Pros: Processor is speedy. Rarely ever see any slowdown and then only on resource hog apps. 8GB RAM which allows a lot of wiggle room for running multiple apps at the same time via the split screen feature. GPU gets the job done well enough even on pretty reasonably high graphic games. Tons of space to save apps, music, etc. with 256GB built in and SD card support. Some Samsung apps are very useful such as the one to help you move from an old device to a new one. Various methods to lock and unlock such as PIN, pattern, facial rec, fingerprint, etc. as many newer devices have. Four speakers, 2 on each top and bottom. Sound is much better than the 2 speaker device I had before, also a Samsung. Includes accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass along with DeX support. Middle ground: Camera is pretty decent for a tablet but they are never as good as phone cameras in my experience. Not as big of a screen as the S7. Some people value the smaller screen for portability reasons thus it's pro or con based on preference. S Pen is interesting, but often I find it too annoying to use for normal activities. I can, however, see it as being very useful for someone who draws or needs to jot down things by hand. I have seen people say the latency is too large compared to the S7 but I have had no issues when using it so your mileage may vary. Super AMOLED display vs LTPS IPS LCD 120Hz display on the S7. Simply personal preference between the better type of display on the S6 or the higher Hz on the S7. Battery life is neither fantastic nor terrible. Cons: Comes with a lot of bloatware as most Samsung devices do. Some of them are highly useless as there are better alternatives on the play store. Some of them can be uninstalled, some can only be disabled, and others you cannot rid yourself of at all. Pretty expensive when not on sale. Does not have physical buttons on the device for home, back, etc. Personally this is not a deal breaker because the device is good otherwise, but I do much prefer physical buttons rather than on screen ones. The SD card slot requires a small (and easily lost if you're not careful) metal tool to open like some other devices. While it is simple enough to find another one that will work, it's unnecessary to make it that tedious. The included USB C to USB A charging cable is very short, about 3 feet. If you want to use the device while having it plugged into a wall outlet or something, it will need to be very close to you. Max fast charging wattage is 15 vs 45 on the S7. Big difference. Conclusion: If you grab one when it's on a good sale, then personally I say it's a better deal than the S7 for now. Some things will depend on personal preference.

I was excited to get this on pre-order as it has many nice features - beautiful screen - nice loud sound - fun S-pen - Dex , but it is just too big and heavy (especially with the keyboard case) for a toss around tablet on the go. I know everyone talks about how light and thin it is, not for me. It lacks the ease of toting around that my old tablet (Asus Nexus 7 inch 2013) has and just feels awkwardly large and heavy in hand. The keyboard case is stiff, hard and heavy and yet was not good at balancing for me - I always felt like things were going to fall over. I suppose on a hard surface vs. lap. it would be better but that is not how I wanted to use it. I'd rather use my 360 laptop in tablet mode if I am going to us something bulkier and compromise. The S-Pen kept falling off wherever it was...just not a good fit for me. Dex did nothing for me. I preferred regular mode. I think the features are great for the right person. I just did not seem to have a need when I thought I did. I've always been intrigued by the Note phones (I have a One Plus 6T) to try the S Pen and thought this was a good way to do it. I do like the S pen, but the lack of portability for everyday for me was a deal breaker and too much compromise for 1100.00 with taxes and Geek warranty. I returned it and will make due with what I have when the need for a larger screen pops up with my old Nexus 7. I'd look at the Samsung Tab A but suspect it is a much lower quality item - we'll see. I think for the right person with specific needs looking for the larger size, it is an excellent choice.

I'm a techie guy who has a variety of tools including a 6th Gen iPad and a MacBook Pro i7 15" (2018) and do most of my work on my Mac. My TVs are all Samsung and I have owned and loved Samsung phones in the past. When I bought one of these Galaxy Tab S6 for someone at work, I fell in love with it and ended up buying this one from Amazon. It does everything I need well and has turned my 6th Gen iPad into my breakfast table email and news kiosk. It's my tag-along device for meeting note-taking, presentations, kindle book reading, digital media consumption and screen mirroring to my Samsung TVs. It's the first tablet I've ever used to successfully and effortlessly edit a PowerPoint presentation. The design and construction is flawless. The S pen is not something I thought I would use, but I've been converted. When doing presentations, it allows me to mark up, point and highlight parts of the presentation without messing up the slide.... priceless. If you're going to sink this kind of money into this kind of device, get the 256GB device with the boosted RAM and add a 256GB external flash to beef your baby to a 500GB monster way under the price of the iPad Pro.... My Tab S6 cooks! Using Microsoft 365, it works seamlessly with my MacPro and pimped out Windows Desktop powerhouse....

Outstanding screen, lightweight, excellent ergonomics. Lightning fast processor. Moving all my apps over thru my Google account was way easier than I expected. I am not able to use my Samsung J3 phone as a hotspot, but I suspect it the age of the phone, not the tablet. Of course, as a brand new product, it is over priced. But overall, I am quite pleased with it,

After owning for about 9 months. Zero complaints. Still quick and functions well. I have had zero issues. Key is always longevity with Phones or tablets. Really hoping after 2 years it doesn't start slowing down with basic usage. Because so far it has been great. Bought a Tab S3 and it is extremely slow now even with minimal usage over the years. Glass does not need a screen protector from what I have seen. Zero scratches. I use a Spigen Rugged armor case which is easy to grip so haven't had issues with Falls. Got it on Amazon if curious. Far as S - Pen goes, I rarely use it. But it is nice to have the option when browsing. It does have sticking issues, but the case I have helps with this. Speakers are great. Prop up tablet and listen to music or watch shows while cooking all the time. Can also use Bluetooth of course if you have a set up for that. Now that S7 is coming out, I wouldn't hesitate to get this on sale.

Great tablet, easy to use a d set up. Transfer from old tablet was quick and easy. Ease of use it the main thing. It's super fast and the keyboard the perfect size. I added the optional external keyboard and i am really glad I did. It was worth waiting for the 256 gig of ram to be available. I can use it all day and still not need a recharge.

This is the best tablet I have ever had and is a huge upgrade from my old tab S2. I love the keyboard no longer being bluetooth and including the Spen makes taking notes on class powerpoints and word documents even easier. The 256GB variant is worth the $80 difference to get extra ram and twice the storage. This tablet is perfect for college students like me that dont want to haul a laptop all the time and can take notes with a pen that is always readily availabe.

I have been waiting for a tablet other than Apple that measures up...this one does! I just converted from the iPad Pro 11 and though it was an amazing tablet it still wasn't what I was looking for. The Tab s6 is fast and easy to set up especially if you already have a Samsung phone or just Android in general. The form factor is much thinner and more narrow than the iPad and in my opinion this tablet is a better build quality than the iPad. This feels solid and comfortable in my hands like a premium device should. All my apps that work on my phone work just as well on my Tab s6. Unlike Apple, where apps that are only optimized for the phone and look stupid small or don't fit the iPad screen, all the apps looks great and are optimized for the the Tab s6 as they are for the phone. Gaming is amazing! No lag or screen tear and videos on Netflix or other apps alike look beautiful. The only time I really notice the lesser FPS (frames per second) is when I scroll on certain apps, like facebook or the internet. You can see it distort the image just slightly. Obviously when you have 120 fps for iPad and then come to a device with less fps its noticable, but for most people you won't even see it or will not think about it after a little while. Call and messaging community (in your settings)...remember that. I didn't know that was what I needed when trying to set up my call and texting on the tablet. You have to turn it on from the phone (and the tablet) and make sure your tablet is connected to the samsung account. If you don't have a samsung phone, I can't tell you if this will work for you or not. The pen. It's pretty cool and feels as natural as a real pen or pencil. The only issue I think have is that when I don't have a case on its easily knocked off the magnet when handling the tablet. Stronger magnet would be nice. So I take it off for now until I get my case (on order) with the cover for the pen will keep it in place. It has more functions than just being a writing utensil. Unlike the first guy who reviewed this device and seemed to complain. 12gb of ram is not neccessay and would only raise the price far more than you need to pay for something like this. 8GB is plenty and it's what Apple uses for a the iPad. It's how the device is optimized for the RAM that makes it better and 8GB does the job just fine. Sound! Oh boy this thing sounds as good if not better than the iPad quad speaker setup. It's awesome! Fingerprint sensor is nice, but slower than the traditional sensor that is usually not under the screen. Not that slow though. I've noticed you might need to clean the screen from the fingerprints that are on the device in that area to get it to read accurately. Downside, I can only set up 3 fingerprints. I like to have 4 to 5 depending on the position or if it's on a surface where it would be easier to use a different finger. Cameras on front and back are pretty good, not a huge feature I care about, but if I need it I'll know it's great quality for what I want. Better than iPad pro 11 for sure. The more I use this device the more I like it and just keeps getting better.

Tablet is great! Beautiful screen, very powerful, lots of memory and easily extended with a micro SD card. Both cameras are fantastic. The only problem I have is the way the stylus is held on, the magnets don't hold it well, and it's always falling off. Since I use the stylus a lot, I really need a more secure way to keep it with the tablet.

What I liked about this tablet: 1. OLED screen. 1440p to 4K resolution with HDR support on NetFlix, Hulu, Disney+, and even YouTube. Please note that Apple IPad Pro nor any IPad supports 1440P or 4K HDR on Youtube and other media apps. Only Itunes will play movies with HDR but no more than 1080p resolution. 2. Excellent sounding speakers. Two speakers on left and right side of tablet tuned by AKG. Laptop manufacturers should be embarrassed. 3. Expandable storage. This will support up to 1TB in additional storage. Put pictures, music, movies, PDF files, Excel, Word, and even Roms i.e SNES, Genesis, Gameboy just to name a few. Just put whatever file you want and Android has no issue having the apps that will support your file type. 4. More than enough power to play GameCube, DreamCast, PSP, and PS1 games through use of emulators unlike Apple who took down all emulators from their IOS devices. 5. S-pen is included. Works excellent and feels premium. 6. DEX. Samsung DEX is a whole another experience in itself. It's basically turn your tablet into a PC\Chrome OS device. Will support any blutooth keyboard and mouse. 7. Make phone calls and text as long as your Samsung phone is compatible. Check Samsung's website for supported devices. Also this feature don't work on AT&T and Verizon. I love being able to come home, put my Galaxy S20 down, and pick up my Galaxy Tab S6 and not miss calls or text or make calls and text. Wonderful feature. What I don't like: 1. Not water proof or dust resistant. IPads don't have this either. Just be careful around water. 2. In screen fingerprint reader. All companies need to stop putting fingerprint scanner underneath screen. It makes putting on a glass screen protector useless and even without screen protector it can still not read your prints to unlock device. It's more of a nuisance for me to use my PIN instead of quickly unlocking with thumb print. Not a deal breaker. 2. Future OS upgrades? Samsung has so far updated this tablet to Android 10 and with it's latest One UI edition. So hopefully, they will provide an update for Android 11. Keyword..."hopefully" Summary: The Galaxy Tab S6 is hands down the best Android tablet to purchase. The only Android alternative is the Galaxy Tab S5e. Half the cost and half the performance of Snapdragon 855 but you still get the excellent OLED screen and features of an Android. Also be aware that the S5e do have wifi issues if holding the tablet wrong.

If you're looking for an all around solid performer, this is it. The display is bright enough to use outside, and sharp enough to show movies in sharp detail. The sound is equally impressive. The 4 speakers give a solid stereo experience. You won't fill a concert hall with sound, but it's more than enough for close company. There is no detectable distortion at high levels, either. The stylus works smoothly and can be used as an art tool or as a tool when you're wearing gloves or don't want to crud up the screen. The computational core (cpu/memory) is fast and you'll rarely, if ever, notice any lag. The through the screen fingerprint scanner works most of the time. I'd guess it's 80-90% in terms of allowing access, and I'm sure some of the errors are probably my fault. Some quirks with Samsung's software keeps some biometric functions from working, but I haven't found it a big concern. Overall, this is a solid device that deserves its place in the high end tablet range. Absolutely recommended.

This tablet is awesome. I have had many different tablets in the past, from Apple Ipad Pro to Surface, and this by far is my favorite. It is incredible well built, super fast and the screen is amazing. I wanted a tablet that could perform both for personal use and lite work tasks (email, document editing, etc) while I'm on the go. While the iPad is great for media, browsing and great apps, for me it falls short as a working tablet. The surface has the opposite problem, they are great for working on the go, but I find that Windows 10 isn't the best tablet interface. That brings me to the Galaxy Tab S6. For media consumption this is a great choice. The screen is crystal clear and sharp and the sound on this is the best I've heard from a tablet. The 16:10 aspect ratio is perfect for watching movies, whereas the iPad has a 4:3 ration which means black bands top and bottom when watching. And as I mentioned the sound is the best. For work, you really can't beat DeX. It puts the tablet in a desktop like mode so that when you have a keyboard attached, it's like a mini laptop. You can use a bluetooth mouse or the trackpad on Samsung's keyboard case. The case costs extra, but I find it well worth it as it does a great job protecting my tablet investment and adds little bulk. From the DeX mode, I can launch all the Microsoft productivity apps and they look identical to the PC version I use in the office. Another bonus is it includes the S-Pen which stores magnetically on the back and charges there as well. It is at risk of falling off without a case though so you'll want to get either the table cover or the keyboard cover for extra security. Overall this is the best Android tablet there is and is a great value, even with the extra cost of the keyboard cover. This is the closest thing to PC type performance without buying a PC.

I tried another product to replace a higher end Asus Android Tablet I purchased about 5 years ago. Sadly, I liked the other one, but could not make a few of my more needed apps work appropriately. Since I use Samsung for my cell phone, this really made more sense. I love the integration between my phone and tablet. The attached pen has actually been used far more than I expected. Great battery life, great screen, Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase, and glad for the nice sale occurring when I purchased it as this tablet costs as much as many Windows laptops.

This is an amazing tablet. IMHO, leaves Apple way behind. The screen is wonderfully sharp and brilliant and the form factor is so thin, compact, and light (makes my S4 feel like a brick, and much faster too). If you are new to Samsung, you will be amazed at the features built into the Tab S6. I had an iPad from the first gem unit, but switched over to Samsung recently. The Samsung tablets are much more robust and functional. Samsung works hard on innovation. When you pair the S6 with the new Samsung keyboard, you are about as close to a laptop replacement as you are going to get with a tablet. The keyboard case even has a track pad! This is an amazing tablet that is worth the money! And it costs less than an iPhone or Note 10!

Thank you samsung for sticking with android for tablets for the average apple haters. I have had all versions of this device minus the Tab S2, Bascically its a media consumption/giant phone first and a laptop 2nd, Kind of an in-between. Dont expect to throw your laptop away...just keep the old windows laptop for emergencies (this is all because of software and what android has to offer) . Its blazing fast and suits everything most consumers need. This brings me to my point: it all comes down to software and limitations from this point forward. I'm an architect, so I wanted something thats easy to use (small) and versitile and not locked down to "you get this because we think its right for you" kind of thing (apple). Something thats very light and compact that I can use on the go and still keep up. This product simply does that. For my profession, we need powerful machines to produce what we do for a living and bringing a giant laptop with a gaming video card and a power cord thats half the size of the laptop to a meeting is a no go. This product does everything, I can watch movies on a flight, log into windows remote when I need to, and it has the best display on any thing out there..(yes even th 120hz display of the ipad...marketing!!!). The audio is absolutley amazing on this device...im serious...for such a small device it pumps out good stuff. Its not a home theater experience but for the size, its mind blowing considering. If you read/watch the professional reviews....people complain about dex...I for one think its a step in the right direction. It gives me a sense of windows (what 90% of people who work a regular job uses windows...sorry Steve). Its a good lower price alternate if you like tech, want a premium display and dont like following the heard.

You gotta get one It worth the money I TOOK the ADVICE of my TECHIE ROOMMATE As he RESEARCHES EVERYTHING from a SPECS Perspective, And said you extra hard drive space,265 W/ 2 EXTRA GIGS OF RAM, Because if you get LTE YOU CAN ONLY GET LTE WITH THE 128GB. Games Blaze, pages, it's wifi ,no need to ad it to you're phone bill Which helps me. Others may disagree, I'm fine with running it of my CABLES wifi, I STREAM =SOCCER ,RUGBY, NBC GOLD Smoothly BINGE WATCH THE MANDALORIAN off DISNEY, BRIT BOX NO PROBLEMS.
