The very first "I've got to have that!" cell phone I got was a Samsung. It was great. And for many years afterward, I was a very loyal Samsung customer, even expanding to the Samsung line of Notes. So I was excited to get the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra! I wasn't disappointed. The very first thing I noticed about the Ultra was how big it is. It's gigantic! It's a massive 14.6", rivaling the size of many laptops. It's sleek and elegant, making it a product you can't wait to show off, especially knowing there is no product out there that can come close to it in terms of size. The second thing I noticed about the S9 Ultra was how thin it is, less than 1/4"! But don't let that fool you, when you hold the Ultra in your hands, you can feel how incredibly well-built it is. It feels solid and durable. There is such a feeling of pleasure to simply look at it. But since no one is going to buy this simply because it is so beautiful, let me get to the meat of this review. After admiring it for several minutes, I began the set up process. In all seriousness, if you have set up one cell phone, tablet or computer, you have a perfect understanding of all that is involved. The Ultra is no different. All the typical questions and personalization. But it was quick and painless, and in a very few minutes the Ultra was ready for testing. When I turned it on for the first time, I was pleasantly (overwhelmed, actually) by the depth of the display. It's magnificent. Colors are vibrant, crisp, clear. There is no bleeding, and the blacks are true and pure. As I explored the tablet, I noticed the clarity and richness of the display was consistent throughout each application. Text is also crisp and sharp. The Ultra boasts a resolution of 2960x1848, and even on such a large screen, that's crazy great. The Ultra comes with its own set of preinstalled software and assorted apps. Although a majority of the apps are Google-related (the operating system being Android, developed by Google) there are quite a variety of Samsung apps available as well. This is one of the negative aspects (in my opinion) of Samsung products. Because of contractual obligations, Samsung must include a plethora of Google apps embedded. As a result, there are two of many different apps, so you are left to choose for yourself which ones you want.. which voice assistant, which store, which note app, etc. And of course, you can download your own choice of apps via Samsung Store and Google Store. This is a bit out of place, but I want to address the included S Pen. I love its functionality. It is eas to use, and there are so many different uses for it. You can write, draw, doodle, sign, drag/drop...you name it, the Galaxy S Pen is still one of the greatest accessories in the entire Galaxy world. It is easy and comfortable to hold, it can recharge when not in use, and it is very well made. I can't imagine a Samsung tablet without it. Along that same line of thought, although there are many productivity apps available through the app store, I find that several of my apps that I use on my Windows based computers will not work on the Ultra. However, in researching this issue, I discovered that it is possible to use a bridge that will allow Linux-based apps to run. That's great if you are running Linux, but if you have Windows or IOS based apps, then you're out of luck as far as using them on the Ultra. There are a ton of android apps available, but in all honesty, because it has been many years since my last android-based device, I am unfamiliar with many of them. I could go on and on about the display on the Ultra, but in the end all I can say is that I have yet to see any other tablet come close to the depth, clarity and richness of the S9 Ultra. My opinion is that it easily obliterates its competitors. The Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 processor has no close competition as far as I am concerned. It easily handles everything thrown at it when it comes to its graphics capabilities. So I will just leave it at that. Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra perfect? It has the largest display of any other tablet that I know of. Its processor is the benchmark. And it does absolutely EVERYTHING you would expect a tablet to do. It is only when you stray outside the boundaries of "normal" tablet capabilities that the flaws seemingly appear. So perfect? Here are the things I found that distract from its perfection. One, the onboard cameras. One, it is almost too big and sleek. I can see where it would be easy to drop the Ultra if you are not careful. At the current price point, it is not something you want to replace due to carelessness. A quick search on the internet revealed there are cases available for the Ultra that make it easier to hold on to. So that is something to be aware of. Two, Samsung branded accessories are priced way out of reach for the average person. Samsung offers a keyboard accessory that runs as much as $350. Knock-offs run way, way less. But when reading the reviews, cheap comes with many disadvantages. This is an issue if you want to use the Ultra for work purposes. Trying to use the onboard digital keyboard way too taxing for me to do a whole lot. It is tedious to say the least. That too is something to be aware of. Again, there are cheaper blue tooth keyboards available, and they just might serve your purpose, but the most common complaint I ran across in reviews was the obvious lag. Three, the lack of high-end software designed for android operating systems. The ones I absolutely need to do my personal work are not available for android. But then again, I have to remember the S9 Ultra is a tablet. A very high-end tablet, but a tablet nonetheless. And this is where the only serious and true issue comes into play. Is it worthwhile to spend this much money on a tablet? The S9 Ultra is the envy of the tablet world. There is not another tablet made that can truly compete. But at this price point, one might wonder about its marginal utility...does it offer enough to warrant its hefty price tag? For me, I would say the answer is Yes. Why? Even with the lack of available software (that I would like), the Ultra is a workhorse. There are more than enough available apps to fill the void. Its huge screen size makes it remarkably pleasant to use. The display is leaps and bounds ahead of the others. Its processor is the very best in its class. So in the end, the real point to consider is that you get what you pay for. The best comes at a cost, and if you want the very best, this is it. And its worth every cent. And for me, this includes the price tag on available accessories. If you are looking for the Rolls Royce of tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is for you. I would heartily recommend the Ultra to all my friends, family, and anyone who is looking for a device that is able to do anything and everything you want in a tablet...plus some.

Somehow feels like a steal after 6 months. IDK

To be fair, my biggest complaint is that I have the wifi only version, and I wish I could use it in more places (I would use it for navigation in the vehicle!). Around the house, and at any place that offers a hot spot, I enjoy the exceptional clarity and the incredibly large display. The price was a bit of a concern at the beginning because you can get a whole laptop for the same amount. However, over the past 6 months that I have had it I will say that I almost never let it leave my side. Oddly, the fact that it is more compact than a laptop allows me to quickly snag it up and take it places I might have decided not to take a cumbersome laptop. Plus, I have a Samsung phone, so it synchs to it while I am home. Then I can just leave the phone on the charger and take the tablet with me around the house. Super handy. And no tablet has the screen to compete with this one. I was skeptical at first, but it has proven over time to feel like possibly one of the best purchases I have made.

It’s about time there was more competition in the tablet space. This Samsung tablet is amazing the design the screen and the performance is great and is a welcome change from the other major company making tablets. Thee design of this tablet is amazing how thin and light it is while also feeling and looking extremely premium. The fact you get the stylus in the box is awesome. The OLED screen is gorgeous and the aspect ratio makes sure most of the screen is filled when you are watching media. Some of the issues with the tablet really hold it back from competing on a grander scale with the competition and that is the OS android really needs to get it together when it comes to tablets, I have had apps crash or just randomly open up on their own or not scale properly. You have this beautiful OLED screen with HDR but google own service for watching movies does not do HDR and several apps don’t do either like Disney plus. Which is a big shame because the screen looks great when watching a movie in hdr. There is no charger in the box it does have a cable but no brick, no the end of the works but for such a high end product having a charger would be nice. It does have expandable memory which is very convenient and helps out if you have a lot of movies or work to save. Overall I really like this tablet and it’s by far the best Android tablet ever. I hope Samsung and Google continue to improve the software for tablets because it’s the one thing holding them back to really compete in this space.

I love the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, I just find it a very minor upgrade coming from the Tab S8 Ultra. I find that the S9 Ultra to be nearly identical to my Tab S8 Ultra, only noticable differences I have found are the additional microphone on the top of the tablet, as well as the redesigned camera layout on the back. Other than those two minor changes nothing else jumps out. My Extra screen protectors from my Tab S8 Ultra fit the S9 Ultra perfectly, the front camera align perfectly with the previous gen screen protectors. The only reason the Tab S8 Ultra case doesn't fit is the larger camera lenses on back. The screen is nice and vibrant just like the screen on the Tab S8 Ultra, the 4 side speakers sound identical as well. I would say if you own a Tab S7 or previous generation go for it. If you have a Tab S8, I would recommend waiting for the Tab S10 to be released 1st. I find that the Tab S9 series to be a much better tablet option for me than a iPad, I've owned iPads and iPad minis, and always gave the iPads to my kids. They never impressed me enough to use them aas a daily driver. The Tab S9 Ultra does everything well from gaming, to multitasking, to photo editing.... It's like a handheld laptop, it's just plain massive, and gets heavy after a while. I would be sure to get a case with a kickstand. I do like that Samsung still offers a micro SD card slot for they're tablets, since they have removed the option for they're phones.. All in all, I highly recommend this Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It is definitely a beast of a tablet, just like it's price tag.
