I bought two of these watches for me and my wife. And my wife's came in and was obviously brand new in rose gold. I got mine in at the same time in the same shipment and mine had 2 layers of tape on it and residue on the watch and looked to be used already. And when I went to turn it on the battery was completely drained like someone opened the box left it on put it back in re sealed it and sent it to me.... if I wanted a refurb or an open box I would have spent the lesser price tag and sprung for one of those instead...

Do not buy this watch. Within three weeks of purchase, the touchscreen face has stopped responding. Also, Best Buy will not accept a return after two weeks, so now we get to enjoy the process of dealing with the OEM as well.

More often than not when running, the heart rate freezes up, restarting doesn't help. Seems to work better when outside temperature is above 45. The photo shows no reading for an hour.

I bought a samsung smart watch on sale but not open boxed as advertised but when I picked it up, open the box at home it was used or looked like open box. I was excited to use it but very disappointed when I opened it.

Something is wrong with the new Galaxy Watch Active. It’s claims to have better battery life than the Apple Watch series 4. Yet, I have had this watch for less than a week and the battery has died on me 3 times within hours. Last night, I charged it to 100 percent right before bed. I set an alarm, made sure that were no apps running in the background and I when I woke up 7 hours later, the watch was completely dead. Thankfully I set an alarm on my phone too. I took necessary steps to make sure my watch was not running any other programs. I even set the brightness to very low, made sure “watch always on” was off. I do not know if this is an apple IOS thing but I am not happy.

Don't buy for tracking treadmill activity

Bought this to replace and update an aging garmin watch. I run on the treadmill and outside. When I used this to track my treadmill workout, the calories burned seemed way off, so I checked it with a chest strap heart rate monitor connected to my treadmill and with my Garmin Forerunner 35 watch. The galaxy watch active was always 300 to 400 calories low for a one hour run. I asked Samsung how to fix this and after a 6 day wait for a response their reply was that the galaxy watch active doesn't use heart rate or step count to calculate calories. They said whether you go 3 km per hour or 7 km per it will show the same calories burned. I asked if there is a way to change this so it actually uses heart rate and steps rather than just time, and user information. I have been waiting 3 days with no response. I finally just returned the watch while I could still get a full refund. I don't want a watch that won't do what it is supposed to do and what I bought it for. It is a great smartwatch, just not a good activity tracker for treadmill workouts.

I have received this as an anniversary gift. I was so excited to try it and it's pretty decent compared to other smart watches in terms of tracking heart rate. Sometimes it has a hard time automatically reading your work outs. It sometimes does not let you choose other wprkouts if you have already done other workouts. The battery life is 1.5 days even with the location, brightness turned off amd all the way to 1. My peeve is that a week of wearing it with no drops and bumping into anything it has a sratch already from normal wearing. My husband's frontier watch has been dropped by my son and no sratches whatsoever. This is definitely a fragile watch not exactly as advertised being scratch resistant.

I bought this watch two years ago. The screen is unresponsive, the watch randomly disconnects from my phone and turns on and off frequently. I tried all troubleshooting, but it's still not working. This is extremely frustrating. Considering the cost of smart watches, they should last a minimum of 5 years. I previously had a Samsung Gear watch that lasted over 6 years.

This watch is trash!! It broke within 60 days. I wash my hands a lot but the watch is supposed to be water resistant. Now Samsung wants to charge me $155.87 to fix this watch they say has water damage. Battery life is less than a day when it's connected to phone via Bluetooth. I was an avid Samsung customer. My last 8 phones have been Samsung. I also have galaxy buds and a Samsung tablet. After this experience I am no longer a Samsung customer.

    DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH! I am the unfortunate owner of a Galaxy watch active 2, and after a little over an year, on the very first time I took a shower with the watch, the heart sensor cover UNGLUED from the watch, letting water in and ruining the watch. Samsung refuses to take responsibility for this defect — which is ridiculously common, as I found on Samsung's own website, on the community forums — and want to charge me to fix the watch, all the while denying the obvious poor craftsmanship of its product.

I bought this primarily as a fitness tracker, but I thought it'd be nice to have a few smartwatch capabilities. Samsung apparently removed all ability to sync with 3rd party apps Sept. 1 of this year. My salesman didn't know this either. You are forced to use Samsung Health. SH is a very limited app compared to others and there are freaking adds. There is no way to transfer the data to your dr or print a report unless you download developer software. A lot of food has to be manually input and there is no bar code scanner like many other apps. The altimeter is completely useless. I climb 12 flights of stairs daily as a minimum and I'm lucky if it counts 1. I've been lucky to get a day and a half out of the battery. And that's after I changed a ton of settings and disabled some stuff. And don't get me started on not being able to completely disable Bixby. The only thing good about this thing the hardware. Its well built. Too bad the software is crap. I would suggest you don't trust reviews like I did and read all about all of the known problems on various support blogs and boards. I'm going back to Fitbit!!

Nice watch, but worth your money

I've owned many Samsung products, their phones are my favorite, but they are glitchy sometimes. This watch is no different. My issues began when I first tried to connect, and the watch would not sync to my phone correctly, when it finally did connect, the connection was broken easily ( with movement, or every time I disconnected because I was away from my phone, I would have to manually connect the watch again and again with great difficulty). I had to get a replacement charging cord, and since this watch is not compatible with any other cord on the market, and SAMSUNG ITSELF does not sell the cord separately, I used the store bought warranty to get a whole new watch (just to get a new charging cord). The next watch connected to my phone seamlessly, I enjoyed using the watch for about 6 months, then the battery all of the stopped holding a charge for more than 3 hours (on power saving mode) this time I had to use the manufacturer's warranty, and because I had a 0.5 mm chip in the side of the display (which did nothing to impair the watch itself), I was notified that the manufacturer's warranty would not cover anything unless I paid $120 to fix the perfectly functional screen before they would work on fixing the faulty battery. So I've owned this watch for about 9 months, and used it about 5 months, wasted hours on the phone with SAMSUNGS UTTERLY TERRIBLE customer service, and I'm beside myself for wasting my money. Spend yours on a more durable watch with a better warranty policy.

Everytime I placed the order or requested replacement, BB ended up sending me refurbished items. And the worst part is that they stated that it is not. In one case, there was handful of scratches on the screen and back of the watch. I guess now that these are outdated, don't try to buy them and if you do, note that it will be refurbished!

I probably would have rated this higher if not for my recent experience. My watch's screen went dead, so I contacted Samsung about a repair. I'm told it will be a free repair but a day after they receive it, I get a bill by email that's pretty much the cost of the watch when I bought it. I call them and I'm told that the warranty was voided because there was water damage. Seriously? Water damage? How? I don't swim, I don't have a tub so I don't take baths, it's never been submerged in anything. The most I do is wash my hands or shower, and not even with warm water. I'm told that supposedly it may have had a crack, but I kept it cover with a watch protector so my question again is how? Samsung likely sent me a defective product that was not water resistant and now I'm being expected to essentially pay for a used watch what I could get a brand new one for. I used to recommend Samsung to people but this experience has left a REALLY bad taste in my mouth, even that I'm even questioning whether or not I even want to replace my phone with another Samsung. I am THOROUGHLY unimpressed Samsung. Do better.

I purchased this smartwatch for my wife about a week ago. I was drawn to the the high end look of this watch and the numerous health features . But the really selling point was the being told this watch has long lasting battery that will run for days on a single charge. THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE, the watch barely does a normal 8 hr work day. I think its about time to return this JUNK and get either Fitbit or Apple watch.

Initially, I bought the watch for my mother so that she could never miss another call nor text from me. When I opened the box of this product and took it all out, I was surprised to see such an EXTREMELY cheap, below the mediocre standard of a charger. The watch itself felt very cheaply made. There isn't a speaker that allows you to hear any notifications, nor does it allow you to have 2-way talking. Just overall, a disappointment. PLEASE AVOID. You'd be better off buying the Samsung Galaxy watch.

Inlove the watch and all its features. The only downside side and why i gave it on star is that unless you have it on power saving mode you need to charge it daily. Also after about a month of having it the watch would not charge and i needed to send it in to get repaired. Fortunately they have a warranty so i was not charged for the repair.
