Love my galaxy watch! I got this in 2019 and have loved it since. Just upgraded the the galaxy watch 4 and cant wait to get it!

I researched these watches before buying and figured the Galaxy Watch Active would give me all the features I needed, since my main priority is exercise tracking. Ultimately, I wore this watch for a week and then decided to exchange it for the more expensive, slightly larger Galaxy Watch 42mm. I didn't love the "rose gold" color. Upon wearing it, I realized it was more Pink than rose gold, and if I wanted to switch out other color bands, it was definitely going to look pink. The size and weight of it was great, very comfortable and the rubber type band was smooth and easy to wear. The fitness tracking was great, it picked up on my exercise very quickly, and while walking or running, it would vibrate if I stopped, to ask me if I wanted to pause my workout, which was nice, because I have accidentally left my tracker running well beyond a workout on multiple occasions. The notifications were good, though I found for some reasons I wasn't getting notifications on text messages after the first few days. Was likely something I had done in the settings. The main reason why I decided to upgrade to the Galaxy Active is because this watch does not have a speaker to answer phone calls, and I found that annoying that I can see a call coming in and can even hit answer on the watch, but it answers that call on my phone, so I still have to go get my phone to answer. If I have the ability of the watch to be away from my phone, I want the calling feature too. As for the fitnes tracking, the Galaxy Watch will track the same.

I bought this for my mom when she purchased a Galaxy smartphone. This has been a surprise hit and she likes it way better then the various "smartwatches" and Fitbits she has owned. I use another model myself and these are well built and easy to use watches. This is great and fitness tracking and catching notifications. Now she can't miss my calls and texts :)

I’ve had this watch for about 2 weeks and have been using it with my S10+. It looks really nice, especially since I don’t have huge wrists, and it functions great overall. You can’t answer calls directly on the watch, but I never do that anyway so it’s not a big deal to me. It will let you send a text response by voice (only with Android), which is something I use frequently. Unfortunately, it uses Bixby instead of Google, so it’s a little slower than I would like, but it still works. The health tracking features are great and the whole experience is smooth overall. Having used an Apple Watch for several years and trying multiple Android watches during that time, I can definitely say this is the closest I’ve come to the smoothness and polished user experience that I enjoy with Apple. Not quite there (Samsung Pay doesn’t always work the first time for some reason, and the lack of a built in speaker limits it slightly), but very close.

I've tried MANY smartwatches and they all have their pros and cons. The most important thing is getting the right watch at the right price. While this watch is not LTE, it does everything else perfectly and it looks great doing it. It's classy looking and very comfortable to wear. I have had no issues at all doing everything that this watch is capable of doing. That's saying a lot these days.

This is my first smart / fitness watch. I have found it to be very comfortable and have a lot of entry type features. I can check my heart rate, "stress levels", log steps walked, time holding planks, doing yoga, cycling (and many other specific fitness activities), log water intake, check the weather, receive notice of text messages and phone calls (even from my iPhone), and more. I love the style - it is so pretty and feminine. There are also Samsung fitness challenges one can join. I'm still learning about many features. They say that blood pressure monitoring may be possible in future software releases. Sleep is also tracked automatically. I like that positive feedback is given when walks are started, etc. The watch also prompts one to move if it detects long periods of inactivity. The downsides I've found are battery life -- if using the full color mode, the battery only lasts ~2 days. Also one can use power saver mode, and the battery lasts longer, however, one cannot access all the apps in power saver mode -- only check the time, track steps. Charging is fast (~1-2 hrs) and perhaps not 'perfect' exercise/sleep logging. I still wear an old fitbit and am comparing steps logged and sleep. The two devices so far are quite similar. I am used to the fitbit app, so still like that for looking at sleep/steps. The Samsung app seems to be fairly comparable, and ever evolving. Overall, I like this watch a lot and recommend it if folks are aware of the limitations. For the price point, I think it is great.

This wasn't my first foray into the smart watch world, but this is by far the nicest one. It is especially the case since I got it for nearly half off the original cost. The new features on the Active 2 weren't worth it for me to spend the extra money. It works well with my Samsung phone. I love this watch and my wife does as well. I bought one for each of us.

Overall I like the Galaxy watch. I can use it with an iPhone or android. I love the look of it. It is pretty easy to use. I love all the features and things it is able to track. Two cons are the battery life and that it doesn't always automatically pick up that you are working out, it might pick up on that after about five to ten minutes.

The watch is great to measure your daily routine/workout/sleep or see and respond to notifications. I don't do extensive workouts, so for me, the watch has been great. You can measure some basic fitness details and this can automatically detect workouts. There is an option to set the workout as something so that it's measured better. The watch is connected to the phone pretty well for a few meters. You can check the weather anytime, this also has a GPS inbuilt for you to track something, you can connect to Spotify in your phone. You can also play music on any Bluetooth device with your watch. You can see notifications and respond to them. You have an option to write the response or just say it. You can see notifications from WhatsApp, emails, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and almost everything. The watch comes with a microphone but not a speaker! You can pick up or deny calls with the watch but you can only answer your phone or your Bluetooth device, but can't converse on the watch because there is no speaker. There is one drawback, the battery life is around 36-40 hours only. Other than this, I find everything okay. P.S. - This is with respect to an android phone (Pixel)

Best fitness tracker I have ever had! I tried Fitbit Versa but it stopped sending notifications to my android even after trying all the troubleshooting steps. My Galaxy Active is easy to use, Beautiful and very comfortable. I like being able to reply to text messages or emails on my watch using either my voice or typing. I can see all my contacts if I want to call or give someone another person's info. I like that I can select my exercise minutes per day which are different from active minutes & there are 2 different calorie totals 1 from my activity during the day and that totals activity plus what you burn during bodily functions. The only thing I wish for is tracking an aerobic exercise, I use workout. The goodnight, theater and water lock features are the best they make this watch even better. I get a daily briefing in the morning showing the weather outlook & my calendar appointments for the day! I just can't say enough good things about the Galaxy Active smartwatch , I just love it and wish I would of gotten it sooner.

I bought this since it was significantly cheaper than the new version. It still does everything I need (but I am not super high-tech). Would highly recommend for someone just looking for fitness tracking, basic texting, and to tell the time of course!

Love the design and color. The watch is very comfortable. Wish the Watch has built in speakers and mic though.

This is the third Samsung smartwatch I've owned. The size is perfect for a female. I like the rose gold tone, which gives it a slightly elegant look while still being primarily for fitness. I like the auto detection for workouts, as well as the heart monitor, stress monitor and sleep tracker. Great price point as well.

Over all, I really like the watch. It syncs so easily with my phone, and does all the things I needed/wanted from a smart watch. There are a couple of flaws that made me take a star away: 1. The battery life. I can usually get 36ish hours out of a charge, but that means sometimes it goes into power save mode while I'm out on a run or while I'm asleep. It's a minor inconvenience, and I get around it by checking the battery often. 2. Motion detector. The watch checks for motion/activity every hour, but it's not always great at actually noticing if I got up and moved. Working from home, I do need the reminders, but I've had the watch tell me I need to try some activity while I was up walking around. It also doesn't always catch the motions associated with the stretches/exercises it recommends. This leads to me doing the stretch/exercise more than the suggested amount. On the good side, it was intuitive to set up and really easy to use. I definitely like it and recommend it as an easy, relatively cheap smart watch.

I wish it was a little better but it does everything great, except it doesnt have the option of a speaker. For the price it is great, updates me without having to look at my phone for work or if i don't have my phone right next to me. It also has great range and charges fast.

Bought as a gift for the wife. She wanted to better track her daily activities and often sets her phone down not allowing for steps and stairs etc. Its comfortable. Its attractive. It functions exactly as it describes. Battery could last a bit longer. Nothernthan that, zero complaints.

I was hesitant at first of the size of the watch. But after wearing it it's not as big as I thought. It's comfortable and very easy to use. I wish I would have purchased it sooner. I LOVED my furniture, but comfort wise and look wise this surpasses it.

Ive had thid watch since 2021 and i have to say that battery has been the same since i bought it. I get a full day of life out of it and only charge it over night. Its small, which i like rather than have something bulge off of my wrist. As of healthcare worker and mom of 3 this watch has done all good. It was definitely worth the money. The only negative thing i have to say (which doesnt have to do with the watch itself) is that i spoke with an associate before placing my order that I needed watch that i could use to talk on or not need my phone next to me. He told me this one was it and obviously i should have read that this feature was not included. Other than that, this is the perfect watch!

This watch is excellent for what it was designed to be. It can't be beat at this price point. It has so many more features than expected. The pictures really don't do it justice for how nice it looks. I was expecting a really tiny watch based on other reviews and videos, but it's really not, it's the ideal size. It's so comfortable that I forget i'm wearing it. As far as the features go, I love being able to send texts and read emails on the watch. It's extremely easy to us for having a small screen.. it just works and that's what makes it great! I've had zero issues. There's no lag or freezing. I also love the daily activity summaries and I never have any doubt about what the weather is going to be before I start my day.. this watch will always notify you at just the right time! It recognizes my workouts automatically and I love the popup message with the timer, distance, and number of steps after i've started a walk or run. I find the watch to be extremely accurate in recognizing when i'm actually sleeping as well. The battery life is 1.5 days, although there are plenty of settings to help extend the battery life such as power saving and a watch only mode. It would be nice if it lasted 2 or 3 days, but the battery life is acceptable. The features of the watch outweigh this shorter battery life compared to larger watches like the Galaxy Watch. I do not agree with the algorithm Samsung has chosen for number of steps. I think it's wrong, but I've come to accept that 8,000 steps on this watch is about 10,000 on others (for me anyway). The watch doesn't begin counting steps until you've done 10 or more steps and then you see them accumulate. Doing one or two steps does not add to the daily total. I'd just like to be able to choose whether it counts ALL steps. Whereas with a Fitbit you may end up with 500 steps after taking a shower, that is not the case with the watch.. so it is more accurate in this respect. The step count is not overinflated like a Fitbit, and that is something that i've gotten used to and appreciate the greater accuracy. I think that the algorithm could instead begin counting after 3-4 steps, and it would still reduce the overinflated step count that you get on a Fitbit. My Galaxy S9 counts ALL steps, so i'm unclear as to why the watch doesn't. It's something Samsung should address or make clear if they're striving for greater accuracy which appears to be the case. One last thing, the watch appears to be durable. Another reviewer mentioned a scratch on the glass after a day. I've accidentally hit my watch on things and there's no scratches at all, it's a tough watch. So newsflash.. if you have a scratch on the glass, it's because you actually hit something very sharp that would scratch any watch. Overall, this an excellent smartwatch and I would purchase the same one all over again if I had to.

Works great w my Samsung Note 9. Keeps track of health data w/o the phone. How to use it w a golf app soon. Battery life is OK. Need to recharge it every night to have it last the whole next day. The 40mm is just the right size for a small wrist.
